1 2015 Off Season Schedule from January 7th June 5th (Refer to calendar for specific dates/times) Speed Camp Schedule Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 6:30 AM Academic Progress Sheets Due at Midterm and End of Term Weight Room Schedule Monday Friday from 2:50 4:15 (Closed holidays, school vacation days) Rising Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores: Dedication Points available: 104 Speed Camp/Summer Strength (Will be adjusted to snow days) 10 Completed progress report sheets 10 Attendance of Summer Team Camp (College: TBD) 40 *GPA Bonuses 60 **Multi Sport Bonus 5 Signing Bonus (Return formed signed by self & parent) 20 Extra Credit (additional conditioning following practice) * GPA from Tri 2 and Tri 3 will be averaged for the GPA Bonus. Bonus will be equal to GPA x 10. Any GPA under 2.0 does NOT qualify for any bonus. Example: 3.9 GPA = 39 Points 2.2 GPA = 22 Points 1.9 GPA = 0 Points. ** If you participate AND finish the season in good standing you may earn the following points per sport: Wrestling 25 Basketball 15 Swimming/Bowling 5 ^Weights TBD Track 20 Tennis 10 Soccer 15 Baseball 15
2 ^ After school weight lifting points are only earned during your off season. Every 3 days in the weight room will be worth 2 points and cannot be combined with another sport. Example: You are either a basketball player or a weight lifter during winter, you cannot earn points from both. However, coaches do not forget those who go the extra mile when it comes to hard work. Athletes must lift for a minimum of 30 minutes to earn attendance. Doing bench press and leaving will get you nowhere! Requirements for Rising Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores: 1. You must earn 148+ points to be eligible to play in your 1st Varsity Game. 2. You must earn 138+ points to be eligible to play in your 2nd Varsity Game. 3. You must earn 118+ points to be eligible to play in your 3rd Varsity Game. 4. You must earn 50+ points to be eligible to play in your 4th Varsity Game. Players with 168+ points will be featured on the Lynx 2015 Football Poster. Players with 190+ points will be eligible to become team captains for the 2015 Season. Players with 210+ points will receive a custom Lynx Nike Dri Fit Shirt. The above requirements do not apply to rising 9th graders and the requirements are subject to change slightly due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. The expectation is that they attend as many workouts as possible during the off season. Increased attendance, increases success. All players who transfer to Abraham Lincoln will be dealt with on a case by case basis. Students currently enrolled at Abraham Lincoln need to work towards the expectations above.
3 2015 Off Season As a program we are committed to our students involvement in the classroom and on the athletic field. Individual success and program success starts with commitment and dedication. Listed on the first two pages are the requirements for eligibility in the program. You ll notice that there are a variety of ways our athletes can earn the points necessary for participation. The following is a breakdown of how we arrived at our required point totals for first game participation. 25 GPA : We expect our student athletes to maintain a 2.5 GPA or Above. 78 Workouts : 78 is 75% of our total off season workouts. We expect our athletes to be at 75% or more of our off season workouts. This includes summer. This will be adjusted during the year to to take into account events. IE: Snow Days. 30 Multi Sport : encourages and supports the participation of multi sport athletes. We feel the value of time management and competition can be enhanced through the participation of multiple sports. Multi sport athletes will be credited with dedication points through the aforementioned program. Those who are not participating in other activities will be expected to earn their points in the weight room following school throughout the year. 10 Progress Reports: Students can earn 10 points by simply having the progress reports (attached) filled out and signed by their teachers at mid term and end of term. This is for both 2nd and 3rd trimesters (5 points each.) 5 Signed Form: 5 points will be earned by simply turning in this agreement signed by the athlete and parent. Deadline: 1/23/ Total: The sum of the above guidelines and expectation for first game participation.
