1 Neuqua Valley Girl s Lacrosse Club welcomes your team to the. This will be our 13 th year hosting this exciting tournament for teams from the Chicagoland area. This tournament is exclusively for JV and Fr/So teams. There will be 2 separate tournaments running simultaneously, Freshman/Sophomore & JV divisions. Awards will be given for 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd place teams in each division. There will also be apparel available for purchase onsite. The tournament kicks off at 8:00am on Saturday. Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 4 games. The format for this tournament will be Round Robin play. Games will consist of a 25 -minute running clock with 5 minutes in between games. Weather Policy Rain/Lightning Trainers, officials, and lightning detection systems will determine game play. If lightning occurs, fields will be cleared and everyone should immediately move to their cars. Games will resume or be rescheduled based on field availability and officials We have no control over the weather. In the event of rain or bad weather, we will try to get in as many games as is safely possible. If the entire tournament is canceled, you will receive a portion of your registration fee back THE DIRECTORS OF THE WILDCAT CLASSIC, RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL, SHORTEN, OR RE- SCHEDULE TOURNAMENT GAMES DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, POOR FIELD CONDITIONS, OR PLAYER AND FAN SAFETY CONCERNS. 2 Emergency Evacuation Plan In case of inclement weather, the following steps will be taken to insure the safety of athletes, spectators and volunteers during the Wildcat Classic Lacrosse Tournament, sponsored by Neuqua Valley Women s Lacrosse, being held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Commissioner s Park in Naperville. Prior to the event, if inclement weather is forecasted for the area, tournament officials will all team contacts and post a message on tournament web site (wildcatclassicil.wordpress.com) of the possibility of games being postponed or rescheduled due to weather conditions. The message will advise participants to check back at the tournament website as necessary. During the event, tournament officials will monitor weather conditions on a continual basis through the use of on-site lighting detectors, radio broadcasts and internet weather services. Tournament officials will be familiar with the Naperville Park District guidelines for use of the lightning detectors in place at Commissioner s Park. All fields in use will have scorer/timer equipped with a two-way radio to communicate with the tournament officials at the main information tent at the park. Weather related safety instructions will be relayed from the tournament officials to the coaches, athletes and spectators through the timers/scorers at each field. Prior to the start of each game the timer/scorer will advise the referee and coaches of any inclement weather in the area and the possibility of a delay in game. All games will be immediately postponed and fields cleared of all athletes, spectators and tournament volunteers should the lightening detections system sound a warning. Play will not resume until after the all clear is given. Tournament officials may at any time determine to postpone or cancel the tournament due to weather conditions. This information will be relayed to timer/scorer at each field and then to referee and coaches. All weather related delays will be posted on the tournament website. Naperville Park District Lightning Warning System Naperville Park District uses a lightning warning system in many parks. The signal is activated by threatening weather. You will hear one long warning signal and see a flashing light on top of devices. When the signal activates, all activities must be suspended and patrons must seek shelter immediately. Once the threat of lightning has passed, you will hear three short bursts from the siren. This indicates that activities can resume. This system is not fail-proof. Take shelter immediately when lightning threatens even if a signal has not sounded.

3 WHAT This tournament has 2 separate divisions: One for JV and one for FR/SO. The teams have been divided into pools. Pools winners will be determined by pool play total points (tiebreak rules applied as needed). Pool winners will continue in playoff/championship bracket. WHEN The first games begin at 8:00AM. Teams that are scheduled to play the first games (@8am) must be at the field by 7:30am. Registration begins at 7:00 am. Warm ups can begin at 7:30am. WHERE Commissioner s Park in Naperville on 111 th Street just west of RT. 59 From the North Take I-88 to Rt 59 South. Follow Rt 59 to 111 th St. (Note: 111 th St. is also called Hassert Blvd). Turn West (right) and follow to fields on the south side of the street. To avoid congestion, many times it is better to take 294 or 355 to I-55 and follow the directions below. Rt 59 can be very congested. From the South Take I-55 south and exit on Weber Rd. Head North (right) onto Weber. Follow to Hassert/111 th St. Turn West (left) and follow to Rt 59. Stay on 11 th St and cross Rt 59. Follow a ½ mile and the fields are on the south side of 111 th. PLEASE ENTER THROUGH THE 2 nd ENTRANCE (furthest west) FOR THE SAFETY OF THE PLAYERS. This way the bus can drop players curb side and no one is walking in traffic. PARKING There will be a Greeter at the drop off point in the lot off 111 th St. Buses will be directed to the bus parking area at Crone Middle School on 248 th Street (just west of the park) or at Neuqua Valley HS (Main Campus, behind the building) and cars can park at several lots around the park after they drop off the girls. PLEASE PARK IN DESIGNATED PARKING AREAS ONLY!!! CHECKING IN Each team will enter the area at the drop off point and will be met by a Greeter. Check-in your the check-in table (coach or team manager). COACHES: PLEASE CHECK IN AT THE MAIN CHECK-IN TENT TO RECEIVE ANY LAST MINUTE INSTRUCTIONS.

4 TOURNAMENT DETAILS 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd place prizes will be awarded in each bracket (no more than 25 per team) LENGTH OF PLAY Games will consist of a 25-minute running clock with 5 minutes in between games No time-outs will be allowed; clock continues during injuries Games will start and end on a central horn Clock will run during injuries (table will alert the trainer, if possible move injured player to the sideline for care) If the horn sounds and there is a free position shot already set up, the team will be allowed to take the shot. No follow-up play will be allowed. SCORING-PRELIMINARY GAMES Teams will receive 3 pts for a Win, 1 pt for a tie, and 0 pts for a Loss There will be no overtime in regular pool play The first team listed will be the home team and will wear white/light jerseys if colors are too similar. If you have jerseys please bring a set for your team. Neuqua Valley will provide field supervisors. After each game, coach must verify & initial the score with table supervisor/scorekeeper PLAYOFF GAMES In playoff games, there will be a sudden-victory overtime. After a 1-minute break, game will continue until one team scores. TIEBREAKERS FOR PRELIMINARY GAMES Pool ties will be broken based on: o Overall points o Head to head competition o Least goals allowed o Most goals scored o Coin toss by the visiting team (both coaches need to be present) TRAINER There will be a trainer tent near check-in area All fields will have emergency ice at the scorer s table If there is an injury, the table will alert the trainer, if possible move injured player to the sideline to receive care. TOURNAMENT SHIRTS Tournament apparel will be sold onsite. FOOD Naperville Park District concessions might not be open. Food vendors might be onsite. No grills nor alcohol allowed on park premises.
