The usual fee for Summer Comp is $1.00 per player per game to be paid by teams directly to the umpire. For intermediate and senior competitions, players can share the umpiring.
4 PART E: SCNA EXPECTATIONS The Twilight Social Competition is a social competition where we hope the players and spectators enjoy their netball, it is also an opportunity for those new to the game to try it and hopefully in future play it more regularly. As such, SCNA expectations are: Player/Spectator Behaviour Please play by the rules, don t question umpires decisions and respect other players. See Part F: Codes of conduct Player Safety All earrings and jewellery must be removed before taking the court. This rule is important for your own safety and your teammates and opponents. Fingernails must be short, again this is protect your teammates and opponents. In the case of a player bleeding, it is expected that that player will leave the court immediately and only return to the court when the bleeding has stopped and the wound is adequately covered. First Aid Please note that all teams and clubs must supply their own first aid equipment. SCNA does not provide first aid treatment to players who sustain minor injuries, however, SCNA will provide ice to assist with injury treatment. Injuries For insurance purposes, injuries must be recorded in the injury logbook at the time of occurrence (this may mean a teammate needs to do this if the player is unable). The injury logbook is located in the administration office in the pavilion. Details about insurance claims can be found at the Insurer s website Other details Scorers All teams must supply a scorer. Scorers from each team should work together to avoid controversy or dissent over the score. Wet weather In the event of rain, please ask players to check the SCNA website or Facebook for cancellation updates, if nothing is posted please assume the game will be played. Pets SCNA does not allow pets at the courts. PART F: CODES OF BEHAVIOUR SCNA asks that the following points be brought to the notice of all officials, coaches, players and parents in your school or club. Players' code of behaviour Play by the rules. Never argue with an umpire. If you disagree, have your captain approach the umpire during a break or after the competition. Control your temper. Verbal abuse of officials or other players, deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent is neither acceptable nor permitted in any sport. Treat all players as you would like to be treated. Do not interfere with, bully, or take unfair advantage of another player. Co-operate with your coach and teammates. Without them, there would be no competition. Play for the fun of it and not just to please parents and teachers.
5 Parents' code of behaviour Remember that children play sport for their enjoyment, not yours. Encourage children to participate; do not force them. Focus on the child's efforts and performance, rather than winning or losing. Never ridicule or scold a child for making a mistake. Positive comments are motivational. Remember that children learn best by example. Applaud good plays by all teams. Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting activities. Respect officials' decisions and teach children to do likewise. Show appreciation for volunteer coaches, officials and administrators. Without them, your child could not participate. Spectators' code of behaviour Remember that children play sport for their enjoyment, not yours. Applaud good performances and efforts from each team. Congratulate all participants upon their performance regardless of the game's outcome. Condemn the use of violence in any form, be it by spectators, coaches, officials or players. Show respect for your team's opponents. Without them there would be no game. Encourage players to follow the rules and officials' decisions. Do not use foul language and do not harass players, coaches or officials. PART G: CLUB/SCHOOL CONTACTS Below is a list of the current School/Club contacts. Please direct your enquiries to them.
