3 HOW DOES MY TEAM QUALIFY TO ATTEND? Teams participating in at least one championship event (qualifier) will be eligible via point system to attend the Nationals (Highest point recipients extended an invitation until the event is filled) The maximum number of teams accepted into the National event will depend on a percentage of the registered teams via points until filled. Out-of-State teams without a strong presence of IFA VTD within their state will be awarded berths by their respective Regional Commissioner to attend the Jr. or Sr. Nationals. 4 REMEMBER: Any type of check MUST be received before the deadline for entry fees. IFA VTD is NOT responsible for the USPS. Please allow plenty of time for your mail-outs and keep checking the website for your team s payment updates! Your team s name will turn white on the listings of teams when your payment has been received! RAIN OUT POLICY: Once the tournament begins, up to $ of your entry fee will NOT be refunded. The entry fee will be refunded on the following criteria: Remainder of the fee, divided by the total game guarantee (5), minus the number of games played. Game started, counts as a game! National Awards 1st 4th Place Team Awards 1st 4th Place Individual Medals MVP Award: In each age group! Gift Exchange: There is a customary gift exchange before the First Pool Game ONLY. Each team is requested to exchange some small type of gift, generally representative of their local heritage and customs, such as: team pins, t-shirt, etc.after the first pool game with their first opponent. PLEASE REMIND YOUR TEAM THAT THIS MAY NOT BE THE TEAM YOU ARE PLAYING FIRST POOL GAME, SO DO NOT BE DISAPPOINTED IF A GIFT IS NOT RECIPROCATED. IT IS THE GIVING, NOT THE RECEIVING! IT IS NOT MANDATORY TO PARTICIPATE. IT IS AN OPTION AND A CHOICE!

This frozen protection is for the team that qualified, so that other teams MAY NOT recruit players from your frozen team that helped you win a berth. This does not mean that your team cannot pick up additional players to add to your roster to help you at a National Event. Your roster is time-stamped and dated as to when a player was added to your roster, so if you qualify on a certain date, that player is time-stamped on your roster for your protection, unless you choose to release a player and drop them from your team. If you drop a player off your frozen roster, she is eligible at that point to join another team. Your last deadline to add players to your roster is before you turn in your playing roster at Team Check-in at the National Event. Once you have turned your roster in to the National Staff, it is locked and that is your playing roster for the tournament and will be referenced for any playing eligibility questions. NOTE: Players may be added to your rosters before team checkin.even if they are NOT on the printed roster when it was frozen, provided they are not on ANY other participating roster. Tournament Uniforms: All teams should dress alike in uniforms..color and style. Players may NOT duplicate the same number during the game. Coaches Dress Code: *NO Tank Tops *NO Flip Flops It is highly recommended that coaches on the field have logos on their hats/shirts to match the team These policies are required for all coaches on the field and encouraged for all coaches confined in the dugout.

Copy of team insurance to turn in Hard copy of team roster (playing roster for tournament) All additions to team must be added prior to check-in This roster will be referenced with all eligibility questions Mandatory Coach Meeting: Where: Frisco Convention Center When: Approximately 3:00pm or at the conclusion of team check-in Discuss Tournament Rules Briefly at the meeting SKILLZ & DRILLZ CLINIC Current D1 Athlete Clinicians 10:00am 2:00pm / Frisco Shawnee Sports Complex / 6501 Hillcrest Rd / Frisco, TX The Opening Ceremony will be part of the Frisco Roughrider event that will be held on Wednesday evening, July 9, 2014 beginning at 5:00pm! 7 Jr. National Tournament Format 3 Pool Games (which will seed your team into bracket) Win / Loss Records Head to Head Runs Allowed Runs Scored Run Differential (Runs allowed minus Runs Scored) Coin Flip Time Limits For Pool Games: 8U & 10U = 75 minutes in length or 7 innings 12U = 80 minutes in length or 7 innings Pool games must finish the inning, if home team is NOT ahead. Pool games ONLY, may end in a tie. Bracket Play: Bracket Time Limits: 8U & 10U: 75 minutes or 7 innings 12U: 80 minutes or 7 innings There are NO special requests for start times. All teams must be available to play at 8:00am, Thursday, July 10, Any forfeited game will be scored as a 7-0 lost and the team is subject to expulsion from the tournament at the discretion of the tournament director. Home team will be responsible for the official scorekeeping and the visitors will be responsible for the scoreboard, if applicable, with adults (18+) on the boards. Bracket games MAY NOT end in a tie, the game MUST finish. SEEDING INTO BRACKET! Bracket play will be 7 innings or time limit, whichever come first, finish the game. The ITB tie-breaker will go into effect, if applicable, the first full inning after time has expired. This will be a double elimination format, with if games to determine the bracket champion, if multiple brackets exist. If there is only one bracket running in an age division, then this team is the age division champion. If there are multiple brackets running in an age division, these bracket champions will advance to a single elimination round with either (two or four teams) to determine the National Champion for that age division.
