1 denver broncos 2006 weekly press release Game #2 (0-1) vs. Kansas City (0-1) Sunday, Sept. 17, :15 p.m. MDT INVESCO Field at Mile High (76,125), Colorado BRONCOS HOST CHIEFS IN FIRST AFC WEST CLASH OF 2006 The Broncos (0-1) look to win their 11th consecutive home regular-season game on Sunday when they host the Kansas City Chiefs (0-1) at INVESCO Field at Mile High. Kickoff is set for 2:15 p.m. MDT, and the game will be televised on KCNC-TV (CBS Channel 4). The Broncos, whose 10-game home regular-season winning streak ties with Seattle s for the longest active such streak in the NFL, return to after losing their opening game in St. Louis on Sept. 10. Despite recording their highest giveaway total (5) in a game in six seasons, the Broncos remained in the contest by holding St. Louis without a touchdown and allowing only nine points on five Rams possessions inside their 20-yard line. Running back Tatum Bell (103 yds.) posted the Broncos eighth individual 100-yard rushing performance in a season opener while wide receiver Rod Smith (3 rec., 34 yds.) became the 15th overall player in NFL history to reach the 800-career reception mark. The Chiefs also head into Sunday s game coming off a loss in their opener as Cincinnati handed them a defeat in Kansas City on Sept. 10. Kansas City, which held Cincinnati to 120 net passing yards, was unable to overcome a 20-3 fourth-quarter deficit. has won its last eight home games in September, marking the NFL s longest active home winning streak in the month. The Broncos, who split their season series with Kansas City in 2005, have not lost to the Chiefs in their five meetings at INVESCO Field at Mile High (2001-Pres.) and have won eight of their last 10 home regular-season contests against the Chiefs. The home team in the Broncos-Chiefs series has won the last seven games and 10 of the last 11 contests between the two teams.
