Please try and be cordial with one another. If you are defeated in a game, you are expected to accept your opponents win and congratulate them. There will always be a winner, but not always you. So do not fault someone for defeating you. Always remember that your attitude is a reflection of the SDA. Make us proud! League Format I. Each division will consist of no more than six teams. The first place team at the end of the season and the winner of the play-offs, have the option to move III. up one division the following season. The two bottom teams in a division will move down one division the following season if, the two teams from a lesser division opt to move up to their division. Unless either one of them wins the playoff s which they have the choice to move one division, remain in the same division or move down one division. Tie Breaking Procedures: It will happen quite often that two or more teams will finish the season tied. The following tie breaking procedures are similar to those used in other sports organizations and will be used to decide which team is ahead of the other: 1. If two teams are tied, by going back into the regular season play and let their records against each other decide the issue. If they are still tied, then let only consider how they did against each other the last time they played each other. 2. If three or more teams are tied: Break the tie by matching the teams against each other according to their record against each other only. If still a three or more way tie consider how they did against each other the last time they played each other. If there is a two way tie then follow procedures for a two way tie. No dues are necessary but if the person wants to throw in the end of the season luck of the draw they must pay membership dues and be a member of the team. No substitutes can be used in playoffs. If the substitute is needed for the same team in the same season for a second match, dues must be paid on or before the night of the second match or all team points earned by that substitute will be forfeited. II. Players can be added after the maximum players are reached if a player is dropped. The new player must still pay dues the first night to qualify. Adding New Players May be done by phoning the league Statistician prior to match, submitting a completed and signed Team Roster Change Form. This form is on the back of each match score sheet. If a player has played a game in a match and is removed from that team, dues are owed for any new player added; otherwise, the deleted player s dues may be used for the new player. Failure to meet these requirements is set forth in the Team Player Exceptions. Game Score Sheet I. Each captain will list for their team players first and last names (no nicknames) and follow the Anatomy of the Score Sheet instructions. II. It is the responsibility of the winning team to turn in the game score sheet to SDA binder that the home bar location. If the winning team fails to do so, any team points earned during that match will be forfeited. Individual statistics will be recorded and counted. In the event of a tie, the home team will be responsible for the score sheet. IMPORTANT: The responsibility of submitting score sheets will be as listed above. If a score sheet is given to ANYONE else to be submitted and subsequently is not received, the winning team will still be deemed responsible for the score sheets being submitted.

4 Player Diddle To start the match, 4 players are selected to represent each team. The visiting team will throw first for the bull. If a bull is hit, the bull is marked as being hit and the dart is removed. If not, then the dart is left on the board. The home team will throw second at the bull. If the dart is not a bull, and not closer than the previous dart, it will be removed. If it is closer and not a bull then the previous dart is removed leaving the closer dart. If it cannot be determined as to which dart is closer, then both darts are left on the board. If the dart is a bull, the bull is marked as being hit and the bull dart is removed only. This will repeat until all four players have thrown at the bull. The team with the most bulls will win the Diddle. In case of a tie in bulls, the closest to the bull will win the Diddle. If it is still a tie, then, the above is repeated but in reverse order with the last player to throw will be the first to throw. This will repeat until there is a winner. If during the round, a player s closest dart is knocked of the board, that player will re-diddle. If the players dart that knock the closest dart out of the board does not stick in the board they will re-diddle second. Statistics Report The statistics report will be made available no later than each Monday during league play, barring any unforeseen circumstances. The report will include team standings and individual statistics. Statistics reports are also available online at Awards I. Awards will be awarded according to team sponsorship fees received. The following areas will be awarded: 1.) Trophies to each player on the first place teams at the end of the regular season for each division. 2.) A plaque to the winning team of the play-offs to the team sponsor. 3.) TON 80 pin for each occurrence 4.) 9 Mark pin for each occurrence 5.) 3 in the bed for each occurrence (6 Bulls) 6.) Other awards allowed by the Board of Directors 7.) First place in the following categories (There will be separate trophies for women and men for every division) a.) MVP Single % winner b.) MVP All Star winner II. The following criteria must be met in order to qualify for trophies in each category: 1.) MVP Single % winner Minimum of 50% of all available season single games with at least one single game played in single 301 and single cricket. 2.) MVP All Star winner Minimum of 50% of all available season games of singles or doubles in any combination. III. Award Calculations 1.) First and second place team trophies are based on total points earned during the regular season minus any penalty points. 2.) MVP Single % winner 1. A- Division Total single match wins divided by total match games played. Tie breakers will be total single game wins divided by total single games played. Then highest number of single matches played. Then highest number of All Stars 2. All other Divisions Total single game wins divided by total single games played. Tie breaker will be highest number of single games played. Then highest number of All Stars. 3.) MVP All Star winner a.) Total All Stars divided by total games played times single percentage wins. Tie breaker will be Total All Stars divided by Total Games. All Stars All stars are a measure of good darts. Good darts are assigned a point value. All darts must count before you can receive All Star. If a person throws an All Star to finish a game, it still counts. The game ends, however when all points or marks needed to win the game are achieved. For example, if three bulls are needed to win, and two doubles are thrown, the All Star will only be three bulls. The following point values are assigned to All Stars: I. 01 Games

1.) = 1 All Star 2.) = 2 All Stars 3.) = 3 All Stars 4.) 180 = 4 All Stars II. Cricket 1.) 5 Mark = 1 All Star 2.) 6 7 Mark = 2 All Stars 3.) 8 Mark = 3 All Stars 4.) 9 Mark = 4 All Stars 5.) 3 Bulls = 1 All Star 6.) 4 Bulls = 2 All Stars 7.) 5 Bulls = 3 All Stars 8.) 6 Bulls = 4 All Stars 9.) All Marks or bulls must be usable for closing and/or score in order for that mark or series of bulls to count towards an All Star. Disputes Inevitably disagreements will occur. Attempt to resolve the dispute through a re-throw or best compromise. If this proves to be impossible, the dispute will be handled as such: I. The dispute should be submitted in writing with the score sheet with as many pertinent details as possible. II. Have both captains sign it, stating the outcome reached in the game. III. The Grievance Committee will resolve the dispute. If the decision affects the outcome of the game, that game may be replayed. If it affects the outcome of the match, the score may be changed accordingly, based on the decision of the grievance committee. Match Byes I. Divisions may start with a bye (a bye is in a division with an odd number of teams) or a bye may appear in a division because a team dropping out. II. A forfeited match will be worth zero (0) points League Forfeit I. Any withdrawing or disqualified teams that withdrawn before the end of the first half (week five (5)) forfeit all match points. Other teams will also drop all points both for and against that team as if the match never occurred. II. Any withdrawing or disqualified teams that withdrawn after the beginning of the second half (week six (6)) will forfeit all match points. Other teams the scores and stats from the first half stand and all scores awarded to teams that have played against the removed team in the second half will also drop all points and stats as if the match never occurred. III. If a team withdraws or disqualified and the members in good standing have paid their dues than the members can join another team in their division or division(s) above theirs. Members will not be allowed to join a team in a lower level. Match Forfeit & Handicap Matches I. A forfeit will be declared if a team has no players attending, or if it cannot meet the demands of a reschedule. II. If there are fewer than four players attending, the match may still be thrown, providing the following format is used (if there are four players attending the match they must all throw): 1. All slots that do not have a player will be considered a win for the team that has a player for the game. 2. In a doubles match, and if a team has only one player (handicap match) that player will throw once per round of 4. (Example: Single player throws waits until both players of the opposing players throw once before throwing again). If single player wins, it will count as one point. 3. If both teams have only one player for a doubles match, it will count as one point.. 4. If a player appears before a game is thrown, and there is an open slot, that player can throw, even after listing, if and only if there are less than four players present. The player must arrive before that open game slot. III. A forfeited match may not be rescheduled. IV. A forfeited match will be worth zero points to forfeiting team and nine (11) points to the nonforfeiting team or winning team.

V. No individual statistics shall be recorded in the case of a forfeit. The team with the players receiving the forfeit or a forfeit game will receive game credit toward qualifying but will not receive wins for stats. Rescheduling a Match I. All matches must be rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance of scheduled time. II. It is the responsibility of the team wishing to reschedule to contact the captain of the team they are to play. The opposing team has the right to accept or reject the match being rescheduled. A rescheduling must take place within seven days of the original time, or on an official make-up date if available. Remember that a match won by forfeit is only worth nine points, and will mean no individual statistics are scored. Attempt to be reasonable about rescheduling. III. If the establishment from which a team throws is going to be closed at the time of a league match, it is the responsibility of the home team to make the other team aware of the necessity to reschedule. IV. It is acceptable to play a match that has to be rescheduled earlier than the scheduled time. V. If an emergency arises, please contact the opposing team as soon as possible. A team that is in place to throw has the right to refuse a reschedule. Emergency rescheduled matches must take place before the end of the regular season, including make-up dates. VI. The Board of Directors (preferably the Statistician or President) MUST be notified BEFORE the rescheduled match takes place. Changing Sponsors Teams are not allowed to request a sponsor change. For all other reasons a called Board of the Directors meeting will have to be held to approve a sponsor change. Personal Conduct I. Heckling or harassment, including foul or insulting language by team members or their guest is strictly forbidden. It is the duty of the captain to keep his or her players in line, maintaining the best possible order before, during and after the match. II. If a player knowingly slings, tosses, or in any other way throws a dart in any direction other than that of the board, that player will be disqualified from the match. III. If a player knowingly slings, tosses, or in any other way throws a dart at a player or spectator, that player will be banned from the league immediately and permanently. IV. If an owner/manager on duty of a sponsoring establishment perceives conduct that negatively effects their establishment during a match, they may protest this action within 48 hours of the offense to a member of the Grievance Committee for immediate disciplinary action at the next called meeting. If the Grievance Committee and owner approves their request, immediate action shall be taken in the following form: 1. 1 st offence: 1 to 3 match suspensions based on the severity of the offence; this sentence will be carried into the following season if the current season ends before the suspension is served. 2. 2nd offence: 6-match suspension that will be carried into the following season if the current season ends before the suspension is served. 3. 3rd offence: Permanent suspension from the league. V. If a player throws in a match while serving a suspension the team will forfeit the entire match to the opposing team. VI. The following are guidelines for general match play as set forth by the American Dart Organization. Additional league or tournament guidelines may also be enforced. Please refer to the General Rules For Play section of the SDA Constitution for a complete list of SDA league rules. Darts is a fun social game that has been around a very long time. Its enduring popularity reveals it to be a sport that combines talent, skill and even a bit of luck. Games are played between two players or two teams. The teams can be made up of two or more people each. Variations that allow for more than two sides have been devised, but these have not achieved any popularity 1. Nine throws are generally allowed for each person as a warm-up before a game begins. 2. One dart is thrown by a person from each team to determine which team or person is to take his/her turn first. This is referred to as the "cork" or "diddle." A coin toss decides who will have the option to diddle first. The team with the dart closest to the bull's eye takes the first turn. In the event that both players hit a single or double bull's eye, or if it cannot be determined which dart is closest to the bull's eye, each player will diddle again in reverse order. 3. Each player throws three darts in his turn. Darts must stay on the board for at least five seconds after a player's final throw to count. The dart is scored where the tip enters the board using wires to judge a score rather than colors. The dart tip must touch the bristle to be scored. A throw does not score if it sticks into another dart (commonly called a robin hood) or if it falls off the board. Darts on the board are scored in the following manner: In the wedge: the amount posted on the outer ring. The double ring (the outer, narrow ring): twice the number hit. The triple ring (the inner, narrow ring): three times the number hit. Bulls eye (outer bull): twenty-five points. Double bulls eye (inner bull): fifty points. 4. The two most commonly played games are "01" and "Cricket". In "01" Each side begins with 301, 401, 501, 701, or 1001 points and throw their darts in an effort to reduce their score to zero. Singles matches are typically 301 or 501 while doubles or team matches are usually 401, 501, 701, or "01" games may be fly in - double out, or double in - double out. In FIDO all points count until the end of the game when a player must throw a double or double bull's eye that reduces the final score to exactly zero called "doubling out". Any one turn that would reduce the score below zero is considered a "bust" and no points are awarded. In DIDO a player must hit a double or double bull's eye before points count. Again, the game is won when a player or team doubles out. 5. A player may move from side to side behind the oche (also know as toe line.) However, if a foot crosses over the oche or a person happens to trip over the oche and releases his dart, the throw counts for no points and may not be re-thrown. Should a player have any portion of his feet or

shoes over the oche during a throw, all darts so thrown shall be counted as part of his throw, but any score made by said darts shall be invalid and not counted. 6. If a dart is released from a players hand in a forward motion toward the board it is considered a throw. However, if a player drops a dart it may be retrieved and thrown. 7. Only those players participating in the current game may stand in the throwing area. As an observer it is consider poor etiquette to talk to or otherwise distract an opposing player while throwing. Just as well, player s teammates are not to give advice on strategy while a player is in the middle of a throw. If a player wishes to consult his teammates before throwing he or she should step away from the oche. 8. In some cases a scorekeeper may be used (referred to as a chalker.) The chalker may tell a player what they have scored, or in an "01" game what score they have remaining, but may not give advice on strategy during the game. ADO American Cricket Rules The objective shall be to 'own'/'close' certain numbers on the board, and to achieve the highest point score. The player/team to do so first, shall be the winner. Cricket shall be played using the numbers 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15 and both the inner and outer bull (cork). Each player/team shall take turns in throwing. (Three darts in succession shall constitute a 'turn'/'inning'.) To close an inning, the player/team must score three of a number. This can be accomplished with three singles, a single and a double, or a triple. Once a player/team scores three of a number, it is 'owned' by that player/team. Once both players/teams have scored three of a number, it is 'closed', and no further scoring can be accomplished on that number by either player/team. To close the bullseye, the outer bull counts as a single, and the inner bull counts as a double. Once a player/team closes an inning, they may score points on that number until the opponent also closes that inning. All numerical scores shall be added to the previous balance. Numbers can be 'owned' or 'closed' in any order desired by the individual player/team. Calling your shot is not required. For the purpose of 'owning' a number, the double and triple ring shall count as 2 or 3, respectively. Three marks will close an inning. After a number is 'owned' by a team, the double and triple ring shall count as 2 or 3 times the numerical values, respectively. Winning the game: A. The player/team that closes all innings first and has the most points, shall be declared the winner. B. If both sides are tied on points, or have no points, the first player/team to close all innings shall be the winner. C. If a player/team closes all innings first, and is behind in points, he/they must continue to score on any innings not closed until either the point deficit is made up, or the opponent has closed all innings. It shall be the responsibility of the player to verify his score before removing his darts from the board. The score remains as written if one or more darts has been removed from the board. In accordance with the inherent "strategy" involved in the Cricket game, no alterations in score shall be allowed, after the fact.
