1 Metro Gun Club League Rules First, I would like to thank you in advance for shooting our leagues and supporting the outdoor hunting industry. We are proud to service you and we will make every effort to listen to your thoughts and make any changes necessary to make your shooting experience great. These rules are put in place to make sure every league member is aware of our rules and expectations before they start. Teams Each league carries with it individual rules and guidelines discussed at the captains meeting. Metro Gun Club and individuals attending the meeting determine and outline the league rules. Metro Gun Club gives teams a three week grace period starting from the time of the meeting to get your first three rounds and entry fee paid in order to all get on the same page and to place you in your respective league. Entry fee needs to be one payment, not individual payments from team members. We try to be as fair and objective as possible when placing teams into divisions according to scores. If there are an odd number of teams, we will incorporate a league high average team so every team will be paired with someone. Teams are comprised of five to ten individuals depending on the league taking the five best scores including handicap. League Rounds All league rounds must be shot in a league book to be counted. If your book is on another field, the cashier has books for you to transfer your scores from. Each league book contains score sheets and on those sheets have week numbers and dates. Teams are required to shoot one round a week and each round is to be shot on or before the date in the book. Scores are subject to be scored the day after the date in the book next to your designated week. Rounds must be paid in advance. We instruct our employees not to pull a round unless they are marked paid. We understand that this may be an inconvenience to some shooters that want to shoot additional rounds. Furthermore, do not attempt to explain that you ll pay after the round and if the employee does pull that round for you, this could be grounds of the employees dismissal from duties. Please pay in advance for your rounds. Note: You may shoot as many rounds in advance as you would like during your league. We understand things come up and you may not be able to get here, but we recommend you shoot one week in advance to avoid any conflict.

2 Late Rounds Late league rounds will NOT be accepted and counted for score against the designated team. You may go back and shoot missed rounds for your overall average, target count and to be entered in banquet prize drawings and gun drawings. Scoring Every week, the league secretary takes the five best scores including handicap. Teams with less than ten shooters on their roster may have a substitute shooter in case team members can t make it. Teams with ten shooters on their roster may not have any additional shooters including substitute shooters. Every week you will be paired up against a team and you will be awarded 2 points for a win, 1 for a tie and 0 for a loss. Handicap Scores Handicap Scores will fluctuate every week depending on the score you shot. Your handicap will be added to the score you shot to make a maximum score of 24. Thirds Each league is broken down into three, seven week thirds. At the end of each third, points will reset and teams will start at zero points. If there is a tie at the end of the 1 st and 2 nd third, the next week s total overall score will break that tie. If there is a tie at the end of the last third, the 1 st 25 target round of the shoot-off will break that tie. You may look at who you are facing on the last week of each third and find you are paired up against P.O.S. This is called the position night and teams will be matched up according to what place you are in. 1 st against 2 nd, 3 rd against 4 th and so on. Shotgun Shells Metro Gun Club does not require you to purchase our shells, but we do require all shooters to follow our guidelines. You must only use 2 ¾ inch, 1 1/8 oz, 7 ½, 8, 9 lead shot target load shells. If you reload your shells and want to save them, you must not allow them to hit the ground for this is a safety hazard. If they hit the ground, you must wait for the round to be over before retrieving your empty hulls. Broken Targets During league shooting, what constitutes a broken target? We instruct our employees to pay attention to chips. Dust off a target does not qualify as a broken target; it must have a distinct piece come off for it to be counted. Handicaps The first round of league will be shot with no handicap and will be used to establish the shooter s handicap. Handicap is found by subtracting the shooters average from 24 and then multiplying the difference by 70%. No score with handicap will exceed 24.

3 Rain Outs On the night of your league, Metro Gun Club reserves the right to call or not to call shooting due to in-climate weather. Shooting will be called one way or the other by 7pm of the night of shooting. We understand that even if we don t call shooting, you may not want to shoot in such conditions; this is why we recommend shooting at least one week in advance. If a rain out does occur, both that round and the next week s round are due by the date in the book for the next week. Example: If there is a rain out for week 3, weeks 3 and 4 are due by the date in the book of week 4. Same situation applies for Fall and Winter leagues. It is important to know what league you are shooting and the night it is associated with. If you are shooting a Monday league and your team likes to shoot on Wednesdays, and there is a rainout on the Wednesday you shot, that would not affect what happens to your Monday league. On Field Discrepancies All target discrepancies or issues are to be dealt with on the field during the round or just after. No changes to scores will occur once you leave the field. We all need to follow the rules in-order to have fair competition. The rules in this packet are to explain what is expected of you and your teams. Please go to your assigned field you were issued at the clubhouse when you signed up for your rounds. It is not ok to jump fields without permission from management or the line walker. Any Spectators not shooting must stay behind the fence line. When on your assigned field, teams are only allowed to shoot two-consecutive rounds before allowing the next team to shoot. Example: A team of ten shooters may shoot five shooters four times so each team member may shoot two times. A team of five shooters may not shoot three times in a row. Correct protocol would be to shoot twice and if there is no one waiting, a third round can be shot. If there is someone waiting, you must relinquish the field for their one or two rounds before continuing to shoot yours. Shoot-Offs Shoot-offs will be at the end of the league and will include teams that have won at least one of the three thirds. There will be 1 place for every four teams in your respective league. Each league rules are different, so make sure your captain explains the rules to you. Rules are subject to change year by year by league members at the captains meetings. Anyone can attend these meetings and are set up to allow everyone s input and to make any necessary changes to better benefit the league members. Teams can shoot their shoot-off rounds anytime they have been notified. Team Substitutes are not allowed to participate in shoot-offs.

4 Online Scores We have updated our website this past year and are pleased to inform you that you can check your scores online. Posting in the clubhouse will still continue, but online is another option for you to stay on-top of your league information. Pre-Paid League Rounds If a league member has pre-paid his/her league rounds in advance and does not shoot them by the end of their league; rounds will not be reimbursed or be put toward next years league rounds. Shooters are allowed to shoot unshot rounds at their own leisure. Banquet Each league will have a banquet held at either Brookhall next to Blainebrook Bowling Alley or here at Metro Gun Club. Your league entry fee and paid rounds go toward the prizes we supply at the banquet. Depending on the turnout of the league, Metro Gun Club may combine your league with another to fill out the minimum occupancy for the hall. There is a fee for the dinner that is to be prepaid at the cashier s desk in the clubhouse no later than one week prior to your banquet date. Grilling and Alcohol Use Metro Gun Club allows teams to enjoy our facilities, to hang out and grill. We are a family shooting center and even though we allow alcohol onto our premises, we need to make sure that everyone is taking the time to clean up after themselves and making sure trash and empty containers are thrown away and not left on the ground. If the trash can next to your site is full, please notify the clubhouse and we will take care of it. Please do not leave trash behind and please be safe leaving our establishment. Alcohol is not permitted beyond the fence line or on top of the fence posts at anytime!
