JASON GARRETT (46-44, 6th Year) Jason Garrett was named the eighth head coach in Dallas Cowboys history on January 5, Garrett became the first former Dallas Cowboys player to become the team s head coach. As a backup quarterback during his playing career in Dallas, he started nine-of-23 games played and was a member of teams that won six division titles and three Super Bowl championships. The 2015 season was a challenge as injuries sidelined two of Dallas top playmakers - Tony Romo and Dez Bryant - for a majority of the season and the club finished with a 4-12 record. Romo (collarbone) started only four games and finished the year on Reserve/Injured and Bryant (foot) was slowed through a majority of his nine starts, also finishing on IR. Garrett saw four different players start at quarterback for the club for only the second time in team history. Veterans Brandon Weeden (three) and Matt Cassel (seven) started the majority of games while Kellen Moore made the first two starts of his career. The running game saw a burst through the second half of the season as Darren McFadden posted his second career 1,000-yard season (1,089) to mark the first time in club history two different running backs each rushed for 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons. Despite the struggles, Dallas still sent five players to the Pro Bowl - Tyron Smith (third), Travis Frederick (second), Zack Martin (second), Dan Bailey (first) and Sean Lee (first). Garrett was elevated to the Cowboys top job after taking over as the team s interim head coach midway through He guided the club to a 5-3 mark to finish the season after the team started 1-7. He led Dallas to an 8-8 record, narrowly missing the playoffs and an NFC East Division title in each his first three full seasons as head coach ( ). With Garrett at the helm of the offense, the unit reached new heights from , ranking among st the NFL s top-10 in total offense in five of his seven years at the helm: 2013 (10th), 2012 (6th), 2010 (10th), 2009 (2nd) and 2007 (2nd). Inclusively from the start of the 2007 season, the club has averaged total yards-per-outing (sixth in the NFL) and 24.3 points-per-game (eighth). Since his arrival in 2007, not only has the team set single-season records in numerous offensive categories, but the club s cumulative numbers for total net yards (52,540), gross passing yards (38,325) and total points (3,498) are among the best totals over a nine-year span in the history of the organization. Under Garrett s tutelage, 13 different offensive players have earned 34 total trips to the Pro Bowl. * The Dallas Cowboys finished 2015 with an average of yards-per-game which was 12th in the NFC and 22nd in the league. The team scored 275 points, including 26 touchdowns, both of which ranked 31st in the NFL. * On the ground, Dallas rushed for yards-per-game, which ranked seventh in the NFC and ninth in the NFL. The club s 4.63 yard-per-rush average tied their 2014 output and was third in the conference and fifth in the NFL. * Through the air, the Cowboys threw for yards-per-outing, 13th in the NFC and 27th in the NFL. With injuries to starter Tony Romo, the Cowboys started four quarterbacks on the year and struggled to get into any sort of rhythm, throwing 16 touchdowns, 29th HEAD COACHES PERSONNEL BREAKDOWN -- OFFENSE BILL O BRIEN (18-14, 3rd Year) Bill O Brien was named the third head coach in Texans franchise history on Jan. 3, In his first two seasons as head coach ( ), O Brien led the Houston Texans to consecutive 9-7 records and an AFC South Division Championship in 2015, the team s first since O Brien s 18 career victories are the most by any head coach in franchise history through their first two years. In 2015 Houston became the only NFL team since 1950 to make the playoffs with four different starting quarterbacks winning a game during the regular season. Brian Hoyer led the way with a 5-4 record in nine starts and set single-season career highs in passer rating (91.4), completion percentage (60.7) and passing touch- downs (19). O Brien led the Texans to a 9-7 record in his first year as the franchise s head coach in Houston s seven-win improvement from 2013 led the NFL and made the Texans the sixth team since 1978 to post a winning season following a season in which it won two-or-less games. The Texans just missed the playoffs as the last team out in the AFC and O Brien finished second in NFL AP Coach of the Year voting to Arizona Cardinals Head Coach Bruce Arians. Prior to joining the Texans, O Brien spent two years leading Penn State through one of the greatest periods of strife any major college program has endured, garnering national and conference coach of the year awards in the process. In the five years prior to his tenure at Penn State, O Brien helped lead the New England Patriots to a pair of Super Bowl berths, first as an offensive assistant in 2007 and then again in 2011 as offensive coordinator. O Brien began his coaching career at Brown in 1993 as a tight ends coach before serving as inside linebackers coach in He joined George O Leary s Georgia Tech staff in 1995 as a graduate assistant, helping the Yellow Jackets to bowl appearances in each of his last six seasons. Working with offensive coordinator Ralph Friedgen, O Brien coached running backs from before being promoted to offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2001 and assistant head coach in O Brien joined Friedgen s staff at Maryland in 2003 as running backs coach. Following two years in College Park, O Brien served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Duke from OFFENSIVE HIGHLIGHTS * Tony Romo passed for 884 yards with five touchdowns. He played in only four games, missing 12 due to a fractured collarbone. In his absence, three other quarterbacks took the offense s reigns, with Matt Cassel passing for a team-high 1,276 yards and five touchdowns. * Jason Witten led the team in receptions with 77, finished second with 713 receiving yards and tied for third with three touchdowns. Witten also reached 1,000 career receptions at Washington (12/7) to become the 12th player in NFL history - second tight end - to do so. By reaching that mark in his 203rd game, he became the sixth-fastest player in NFL history - fastest tight end - to get to that point. Additionally, he played in his 197th consecutive game at Miami (11/22) to surpass Bob Lilly (196, ) for the most consecutive games played in team history. He has a current streak of 203 games. * Terrance Williams led the team with a career-high 840 yards while tying for second with a career-best 52 receptions and tied for third with three scores. * Darren McFadden finished fourth in the NFL with 1,089 rushing yards - his second career 1,000-yard season - on a career-high 239 carries with three touchdowns. He also posted five 100-yard games to tie for second in the NFL in 2015 and gave him the second-most of his career. * The offensive line once again boasted three Pro Bowlers in left tackle Tyron Smith (third), center Travis Frederick (second) and guard Zack Martin (second). in the league, against 22 interceptions, finishing with a league worst 0.73 touchdown-to-interception ratio. * In averaging 17.2 points-per-contest, Dallas finished ahead of only the San Francisco 49ers (14.9) in scoring average. * The Cowboys offense boasted a 1,000-yard rusher for the 26th time - third consecutive season - in franchise history with McFadden s 1,089 yards. It was also the first time in team history that two different players have had consecutive 1,000-yard seasons (DeMarco Murray, 2014; McFadden, 2015). * The Dallas offense was good on first down in 2015, gaining four-plus yards on first down plays 49.4 percent of the time, sixth in the league. * With an efficient rushing attack in 2015, the Cowboys recorded play drives, 10th-best in the league, and scored points on 78.2 percent of those drives while also recording 29 drives lasting five minutes or more, third in the NFL. * The Cowboys yielded only 33 sacks to finish tied for the 11th-fewest in 2015, but also only recorded 88 plays that resulted in negative yardage, the fourth-fewest amongst all teams. * Dallas Cowboys quarterbacks completed 334 passes in 2015, 79 of which went to running backs. The Cowboys completion breakdown of 23.7% of completions going to running backs put them in the middle of the pack in the league but contributed to their low outputs in 25-plus yard pass plays (21) and yards-per-pass attempt (6.96). 2

PERSONNEL BREAKDOWN -- OFFENSE, cont. QUARTERBACK After spending the first four years of his NFL career as a backup quarterback, Tony Romo was thrust into the spotlight, taking over the starting role midway through the 2006 season. In just 10 games, Romo led the team to a 6-4 record and a playoff berth. His overnight sensation earned him his first career Pro Bowl selection. He returned as the full-time starter in 2007 and established then franchise marks for completions (335), passing yards (4,211) and touchdowns (36) among several others. He also led Dallas to a franchise record tying 13-3 finish and its 20th division title. In 2008, despite being injured for three games, Romo finished his second full season as a starter with 3,448 yards (12th in the NFL) on 450 attempts for a rating of 91.4 (eighth in the league) despite missing three games with a fractured pinkie finger on his throwing hand. In his third full season as a starter in 2009, Romo eclipsed 15,000 career passing yards, became the fifth Dallas passer with 100 career touchdown throws and finished the season as the only quarterback in franchise history to be on the field for every snap from center. With Romo at the helm, the club secured its second NFC East Championship over the past three seasons (2007) - 21st overall and 17th NFC East crown - and led the team to its first playoff win in 13 years with a victory over Philadelphia in the Wild Card Playoff Game. In 2010 Romo dealt with his most significant injury after a fractured clavicle suffered in the Monday Night Football Game against the N.Y. Giants (10/25) forced him to miss the next eight games and ultimately the rest of the season when the team placed him on the Reserve/Injured list on Dec. 21. Before going down with injury, he surpassed 2,000 career attempts (2,070) to become only the fifth Dallas passer to do so and established a club record with 18 consecutive games with a touchdown pass. Romo closed out 2011 with one of the best statistical seasons of his career. He completed 346 passes (second in his career) on 522 attempts (second) with a 66.3 completion percentage (second) for 4,184 yards (third), 31 touchdowns (second), 10 interceptions (second fewest in at least 10 games played) for a career-best passer rating. He was third in the league in completion percentage, fourth in passer rating, fifth in touchdowns, seventh in yards, tied for eighth in completions and 11th in attempts. The 2012 season was no different as the starter threw for a club-record 4,903 yards (fourth 4,000-yard season) while also setting marks for attempts (648) and completions (425) with 28 touchdowns. He finished the season second in the league in completions, third in attempts and yards, fifth in completion percentage and sixth in touchdowns. He also became the first Cowboy to attempt 600-plus passes and complete at least 400. Romo became the eighth different NFL passer to go at least 400-of-600 in a season. Romo again had one of his best statistical years, finishing 2013 completing 342-of-535 (63.9) passes for 3,828 yards with 31 touchdowns, 10 interceptions and a 96.7 quarterback rating. He barely missed his fifth career (third consecutive) 4,000-yard season after missing the season finale with a back injury he suffered in the Week 16 win at Washington. He did record his third career 30-touchdown season while his +21 touchdown to interception ratio tied his then club-high and his 10 interceptions tied his then third-lowest figure. The 2014 season was Romo s most efficient and effective as a starter, as he led the NFL with club records for rating (113.2) and completion percentage (69.9). He was fourth in touchdowns (34), tied for the eighth-fewest interceptions (nine), 14th in yards (3,705), 16th in completions (304) and 23rd in attempts (435). The 34 touchdown passes rank second in his career and his +25 touchdown-to-interception ratio, passer rating and completion percentage rank as career-bests. The 2015 season was a struggle for Romo as he twice broke his left collarbone, allowing him to play in only four games. In four games, he completed 83-of-121 (68.6) passes for 884 yards with five touchdowns and seven interceptions while winning three games. Romo owns a record as a starter in the regular season and a 2-4 record in the postseason. The Dallas Cowboys signed Kellen Moore as a developmental quarterback who has experience in Offensive Coordinator Scott Linehan s system after spending the first two years of his career ( ) under Linehan in Detroit. Moore, a four-year veteran, was a collegiate standout for Boise State, setting multiple NCAA records for the Broncos in his four-year college career. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Detroit Lions after the 2012 NFL Draft, spent all three years with the Lions as their third-string quarterback and was inactive for every game he was with the team. With the early season injury to Romo in 2015, Moore was brought in to learn the offense and eventually got an opportunity to play, starting two games and seeing action in a third. He finished the season completing 61-of-104 (58.7) passes for 779 yards with four touchdowns and six picks. He returned in 2016, but a training camp ankle injury will force him to miss the majority of the upcoming season. Behind Romo and Moore are 2016 rookie fourth-round draft pick Dak Prescott and second-year player Jameill Showers. Prescott became the first quarterback drafted by the Cowboys since Stephen McGee in 2009, and only the fifth since Jerry Jones bought the team in Prescott, considered the most decorated player in Mississippi State history, left the Bulldogs owning 38 school records while boasting a record as a starter for the best winning percentage as a starting quarterback in school history (.697). Overall, he completed 734-of-1,169 passes (62.8) for 3 9,376 yards with 70 touchdowns and 23 interceptions, rushed for 2,521 yards on 536 carries (4.7) and 41 scores and caught four passes for 88 yards and three touchdowns while playing in 49 career games with 33 starts. Showers graduated from Texas A&M but transfered to Texas El Paso where he played another two seasons. He finished his college career with 3,480 yards with 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions along with 579 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on the ground. He spent most of 2015 on the Cowboys practice squad, and will look to compete for one of the backup quarterback positions in camp after playing both quarterback and special teams for Dallas last year in practice. Dallas 24, Los Angeles 28 - Starting QB Tony Romo did not play (coaches decision), giving rookie fourth-round pick Dak Prescott his first NFL start, playing the entire first half. Prescott wowed in his debut, completing 10-of-12 passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns. He rifled a back shoulder pass to Dez Bryant for his first touchdown toss on the offenses first drive, and then dropped a beautifully thrown pass over the shoulder of Terrance Williams, who hauled it in and tapped both feet in bounds on a perfectly timed fade route. Prescott directed scoring drives on four-of-five offensive possessions. Jameill Showers came in to play the second half, and completed eight-of-16 passes for 99 yards. He showed off his athletic ability in the third quarter, spinning out of a sure sack and completing a 47-yard pass to Vince Mayle. Overall, Cowboys quarterbacks completed 18-of-28 passes for 238 yards and two touchdowns with two sacks. Dallas 41, Miami 14 - Tony Romo started the game and played the first two series, completing four-of-five passes for 49 yards, directing one scoring drive. Dak Prescott then took control of the offense, and he put together one of the best performances of the preseason, throwing 15 passes and completing 12 for 199 yards with two touchdowns and rushing for another two, driving the offense for scores on all six possessions he played. Prescott finished with a perfect passer rating on the day. Jameill Showers came in the game in the third quarter and played the final three possessions when Dallas was looking to run the ball and the clock late in the game. He finished one-of-four for 15 yards and also had one rushing yard. Dallas 17, Seattle 27 - Tony Romo started the game for Dallas, completing one pass for 11 yards before leaving the game with a back injury on the third play of the game. He was replaced by Dak Prescott, who was again impressive working with the Cowboys first offensive unit, completing 17-of- 23 passes for 116 yards and a touchdown strike to Jason Witten. He played the remainder of the first half and into the third quarter. Prescott s five touchdown passes this preseason are the most by a Cowboys quarterback in a single preseason since Quincy Carter threw four touchdowns in the 2003 preseason. Jameill Showers took over late in the third quarter and finished the game, throwing 17 times with 10 completions, 113 yards through the air and a touchdown. RUNNING BACK The Dallas Cowboys look to rely on the running game again in 2016, after finishing second in rushing in 2014 and ninth in 2015 and investing a high draft pick and free agency resources at the position. They have a loaded stable of runners and a solid mix of veteran and young players at the position to unleash behind one of the best offensive lines in the NFL in For just the second time in franchise history, the Dallas Cowboys used a top-five pick to select a running back when the team chose Ezekiel Elliott with the fourth pick of the 2016 NFL Draft. Elliott is an elite three-down back who has the ability to excel in every aspect of his game. He possesses a rare combination of size, speed and athleticism and has displayed the ability to be the workhorse of the offense. Leaving Ohio State following his junior year and only starting his final two seasons, Elliott rushed for the second-most yards in school history (3,961), including the most rushing yards in consecutive years (3,699). After losing DeMarco Murray in 2015 free agency, the Dallas Cowboys called upon Darren McFadden to fill the shoes for the 2014 NFL rushing leader. McFadden came to Dallas after a seven-year career with the Oakland Raiders. McFadden left Oakland as the club s sixth-best rusher, totaling 4,247 yards while placing eighth all-time with 25 touchdowns and fourth with 1,038 carries. He began his Cowboys career as a reserve back but took over the starting role for the final 10 games of the season. He flourished in the starting spotlight, finishing the year with a career-high 239 carries and his second 1,000-yard season (1,089, second in his career and fourth in the league in 2015). Through his career, he has rushed for 100-or-more yards 18 times and rushed for 100 yards in back-to-back games four times. McFadden is also a proven threat to catch the ball out of the backfield, hauling in 251 passes for 2,097 yards and five touchdowns. An elbow injury will slow him in training camp, but he will look to get back on track once the regular season starts. The Dallas Cowboys signed Alfred Morris to pair with Darren McFadden and first round draft pick Ezekiel Elliott in the backfield for the 2016 season, giving the Cowboys rushing attack a stable of talented and experienced runners. Morris was originally drafted in the sixth round (173rd overall) by Washington, and through four years, Morris rushed for 4,713 yards and 29 touchdowns on 1,078 carries, starting all 64 games of his career. Morris

PERSONNEL BREAKDOWN -- OFFENSE, cont. running backs, cont. yardage total of 4,713 is the second-most in the league over that span trailing only Adrian Peterson, who accumulated 4,923 yards over those four seasons. Morris physical running style and experience running behind a zone-blocking scheme make him an excellent compliment to McFadden and Elliott in the Cowboys backfield, and will increase the productivity of a Dallas rushing attack that ranked in the top-10 in Lance Dunbar signed with Dallas as a rookie free agent following the 2012 NFL Draft and spent the first month of his rookie season on the club s practice squad, playing in 12 games after injuries at the position. Dunbar returned in 2013 as the primary backup to Murray and showed flashes of his abilities before a knee injury suffered on Thanksgiving Day ended his season. He returned in 2014 in full health and was used as a change-of-pace back behind Murray - the league s rushing leader. Dunbar entered 2015 with the op portunity to see more playing time and provide the offense with more versatility but a knee injury suffered four games in put an end to his season. He looks to rebound in 2016 and give the offense a spark in the running game and passing game that was missing in his absence. Dallas also drafted Darius Jackson as a developmental prospect in the sixth round (216th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft. An exceptional athlete who did not see extended playing time in college until his senior season, Jackson posted 321 carries for 1,586 yards and 17 touchdowns over four years at Eastern Michigan. He will look to impress on special teams and develop his instincts as a ball carrier for the Cowboys. The Cowboys also have a pair of players converting to fullback for the 2016 season, second-year players Keith Smith and Rod Smith. The Cowboys originally signed Keith Smith as a rookie free agent in 2014 to compete for time as a reserve linebacker and on special teams. He bounced between the practice squad and active roster for two seasons, seeing time in 15 games and posting six special teams tackles to go with six defensive tackles and a forced fumble. Rod Smith originally signed with Seattle as a rookie free agent running back following the 2015 NFL Draft, but was waived after one game on the active roster. Dallas claimed him off waivers, and he played in 10 games for Dallas over the remainder of the year as a special teams contributor. He finished the year with five yards on two carries and one catch for six yards offensively. Both players will provide Dallas with increased athleticism and versatility at the position for Dallas 24, Los Angeles 28 - Several Cowboys running backs came into the contest against L.A. with nagging injuries to Darren McFadden (elbow), Lance Dunbar (knee) and Ezekiel Elliott (hamstring), as all did not play. Alfred Morris started the game and played the first two series, rushing three times and picking up 11 yards. He was relieved by rookie Darius Jackson, who tallied 12 carries for 47 yards, and later in the game Rod Smith added two carries for six yards. Dallas 41, Miami 14 - With Ezekiel Elliott still sidelined (hamstring), Alfred Morris got his second start of the preseason and exhibited excellent patience behind the Cowboys offensive line, rushing 13 times for 85 yards with one touchdown and a long run of 20 yards. He played the majority of the first half for Dallas, controlling the clock and helping open up passing lanes for Romo and Prescott. Darius Jackson saw the majority of carries after Morris left the game, grinding out 43 yards on 14 carries while Dallas tried to run out the clock with a large lead in the second half. Fullback Keith Smith also carried the ball three times for 13 yards in the closing minutes. Rod Smith (illness), Darren McFadden (elbow) and Lance Dunbar (knee) all did not play in the contest. Dallas 17, Seattle 27 - Ezekiel Elliott saw his first action of the preseason, playing the entire first quarter and carrying the ball seven times for 48 yards, an average of almost seven yards-per-carry, while also demonstrating an ability to pick up rushers in the passing game. His physical running style and vision out of the backfield impressed in his first game action. Alfred Morris and Darius Jackson then split the carries over the remainder of the game, with Morris carrying five times for 17 yards and Jackson five times for 30 yards. Morris added two catches for 11 yards and Jackson one catch for nine yards. Lance Dunbar recently passed his physical and came off the Active/ PUP list, but did not play, and Keith Smith took all the reps at fullback and on special teams as Rod Smith was out with an illness. WIDE RECEIVER After a tumultuous season in the passing game in 2015, the Cowboys and star wide receiver Dez Bryant are looking to regain the swagger that saw them post 37 touchdowns through the air in Bryant, a former Oklahoma State star, paid immediate dividends for the Cowboys after being drafted in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft as both a receiver and returner, finishing second all-time among club rookies with 45 receptions for 564 yards - fifth all-time among Dallas rookies - and six touchdowns, tied for second all-time among Cowboys rookies. On punt returns, Bryant took back two punts for scores to become the seventh Cowboy to accomplish the feat and only the second rookie to do so. Along with his six receiving touchdowns, Bryant s eight total scores tied him for fourth all-time among Dallas rookies. 4 In 2011 Bryant finished his second pro season second on the team in receptions (63), receiving yards (928) and touchdown catches (nine). Bryant s finish to the 2012 season allowed him to place third in the league with a then career-best 12 receiving touchdowns (tied for fifth in team history) and tops on the team, sixth in the league with a career-best 1,382 receiving yards (fourth in team history). His 92 catches were a career-best, second on the team, tied for 10th in the league and seventh all-time in team history. Coming off a stellar second half of led the NFL with 10 touchdowns, was third with 879 yards and sixth with 50 catches in eight games - Bryant started 2013 where he left off. By season s end, Bryant tied for third in the league with a career-high 13 touchdowns (tied for third in Cowboys history), eighth with a career-high 93 catches (tied for sixth in club history) and 13th with 1,233 yards (ninth in team books), as well as his first Pro Bowl selection. The 2014 season was by-and-large a breakout campaign for Bryant, as he finished in the top-10 league-wide in receptions (88), yards (1,320) and touchdowns, ranking first in the league and setting a single-season Cowboys record with 16 touchdown catches. His dominance lent itself to the running game, as defenses were forced to often assign two defenders to cover him. He finished the year with his second Pro Bowl selection, and in the offseason, was rewarded with a five-year contract extension. The two-time Pro Bowl receiver signed a five-year contract extension prior to training camp in 2015, but struggled with a foot injury through the season, playing in only nine games after breaking his foot in the season opener. He finished his sixth season with 31 catches for 401 yards and three touchdowns. Bryant has the third-most touchdowns since entering the league in 2010 and is the fastest player in Cowboys history to reach the 300-catch plateau, doing so in 61 games. He has 412 catches for 5,825 yards (14.1) and 59 touchdowns through six seasons. The Cowboys added a big and physical receiver when they drafted Terrance Williams in the third round out of Baylor in the 2013 NFL Draft. Williams, a Dallas native, came to his hometown NFL team after a threeyear playing career in Waco, Texas that had him with 3,334 yards and 27 touchdowns on 202 receptions. In three years, he racked up a school-record 4,693 all-purpose yards by adding 1,180 kickoff return yards, 17 rushing yards and 162 punt return yards. Williams finished his rookie season fourth on the team with 44 catches (tied for fourth in a season among club rookies) for 736 yards (third on the team - fourth all-time among Dallas rookies) and third with five touchdowns (tied for fourth all-time among club rookies). He was third among league rookies in receiving yards, tied for fourth in touchdowns, and 10th in receptions. He continued to build on his success as a Cowboy in 2014, making opposing defenses quiver at the thought of the Dallas receiving tandem. Williams proved reliable and explosive in his second season, catching 37 passes for 621 yards and eight touchdowns (second on the team). His 16.8 yard average ranked fifth in the league, and he posted eight games in which he averaged at least 15 yards-per-reception, tied for third in the league, with the Cowboys winning seven of the eight games in which Williams achieved the feat. Williams played a more prominent role in 2015 with Dez Bryant sidelined for a good part of the season with a foot injury, finishing with a team-high 840 yards while finishing tied for second with 52 catches and three touchdowns. Through his three pro seasons, Williams averaged 16.5 yards-per-catch, making him one-of-three receivers since 2001 to average 16.0 yards-per-reception in each of the first three seasons of his career (Mike Wallace and Kenny Britt). Cole Beasley, an undrafted 2012 rookie, impressed coaches enough through the preseason to earn a nod on the 53-man roster. After a career at nearby Southern Methodist University, Beasley s rookie season saw him take on the role as a slot receiver, finishing with 15 catches for 128 yards. In 2013 Beasley played in 14 games and earned the first three starts of his career, becoming a dependable third receiver. For the season, Beasley caught 39 passes for 368 yards and two touchdowns. Of his 39 receptions, 20 went for first downs with 13 converting on third or fourth down (second on the team). Beasley worked mostly from the slot as a third receiver in 2014 as well, making 37 catches for 420 yards and four touchdowns. He also ranked fifth in the league with a catch rate of 77.1%. With injuries in the receiving corps in 2015, Beasley saw extended time, and had career-bests in receptions (52), receiving yards (536) and touchdowns (five) - tops on the team. He has 143 catches for 1,452 yards and 11 touchdowns in his career. Third-year pro Devin Street made the most of his opportunities on special teams and will try to build on a 2015 season in which he played in 15 games with the first two starts of his career and caught nine passes for 132 yards and his first career touchdown. Brice Butler was acquired by Dallas in a trade with Oakland after a foot injury suffered by Bryant in Week 1 of 2015 left the Cowboys thin at the wide receiver position. Butler brings an array of talents to the Cowboys, most notably his speed and athleticism, which was displayed by his yard dash time, a 6.6 mark in the 3-cone drill, a 10 9 broad jump, and a 39-inch vertical - stats that would have landed him in the top-three of all drills at the Combine - at his Pro Day in He was limited by a hamstring injury in his first season in Dallas and played in seven games with two starts, but will look to break through in three and four receiver sets with the Dallas offense in The Dallas Cowboys added Lucky Whitehead to the roster as a rookie free agent following the 2015 NFL Draft in the hopes that the quick and shifty receiver would find a home in multiple receiver sets and as a return specialist for the team. He was one of just two rookie free agents (La el Collins) to make the club out of training camp, and he went on to play in 15 games with one start. He got a majority of his offensive touches on end around runs and

PERSONNEL BREAKDOWN -- OFFENSE, cont. wide receivers, cont. sweeps, rushing 10 times for 107 yards. On special teams, he averaged 28.3 yards-per-kick return and 5.8 yards-per-punt return as a rookie while playing in limited offensive snaps (15%). In 2016 he will look for more playing time on offense while building on a successful season as a rookie returner. Also entering the mix is veteran Rodney Smith (Florida state), who signed with Minnesota as a rookie free agent following the 2013 NFL Draft, and played in eight games over two seasons for the Vikings and Browns before coming to Dallas. First-year player Vince Mayle (Washington State), and rookies Andy Jones (Jacksonville), and Richard Mullaney (Alabama) are looking to impress during the preseason and earn a spot in the receiving corps in Smith entered the league as an undrafted free agent, signing with Minnesota after the 2013 draft. He played in eight games over two seasons for the Vikings and then Cleveland before arriving in Dallas in 2015, where he spent the season on the practice squad. Mayle was a fourth-round draft pick by the Browns in 2015 out of Washington State, where he set a school record for single-season receptions as a senior. He was released by Cleveland after training camp and signed with Dallas, where he played in one game and was on the practice squad for the majority of the year. Dallas 24, Los Angeles 28 - The Cowboys came into their game against the Rams with a full arsenal at the wide receiver position as Dez Bryant, Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley all started and played significant snaps in the first quarter. Bryant, who is coming off a foot injury that ended his 2015 season, looked to be back to his pre-injury form, snagging two catches for 28 yards and an acrobatic, back shoulder touchdown grab from Prescott. Williams added a touchdown on a fade route that was placed perfectly over his outside shoulder from 32 yards out, his lone grab of the game. Beasley had two catches on the first drive of the game, creating ideal separation out of the slot and knifing through the secondary for 23 yards. Brice Butler and Devin Street came in to relieve Bryant and Williams on the outside, and Lucky Whitehead took over the slot receiver position for Beasley midway through the first quarter. Street caught two passes for 17 yards, while Butler and Whitehead each added one grab apiece for 22 and 6 yards, respectively. Whitehead also added an 11-yard rush on a jet sweep on the first drive of the game. Vince Mayle, Andy Jones, and Chris Brown all entered the mix in the second half, with Brown leading the Cowboys by hauling in three receptions. Jones and Mayle each had one catch in the second half. Dallas 41, Miami 14 - The Cowboys had nine different players record a catch in the game, including six from the receiving corps. Dez Bryant, Terrance Williams and Lucky Whitehead all started the game as Dallas opened in a three-receiver set. Bryant and Williams each played two series, and Bryant continued his dominant preseason performance, catching two passes for 46 yards and an acrobatic 28-yard touchdown from Prescott. Williams finished with one catch for 13 yards, and Whitehead added 1 for 18 in their limited time. Cole Beasley also played short minutes, making two catches for 21 yards before being lifted from the game. Brice Butler was the big performer of the night, leading the team with three catches for 74 yards and a touchdown. He beat the Dolphins defenders deep on a 58-yard post in the third quarter, and then scored on a back-shoulder pass from Prescott on the next play after being tackled at the one yard line. Andy Jones added one catch for one yard in the second half. Chris Brown, Rodney Smith, Devin Street, Vince Mayle and Richard Mullaney all played but did not record any offensive stats. Dallas 17, Seattle 27 - Top receiver Dez Bryant missed the game with a concussion, so Terrance Williams, Brice Butler and Cole Beasley got the start for the Cowboys. Beasley caught four passes for 30 yards, Butler two for 24 and Williams one for 11 in the first half of action. Devin Street also rotated in during the first half, catching one pass for seven yards. Rodney Smith displayed good chemistry with Showers in the second half of the contest, catching three passes for 32 yards and a late touchdown. Andy Jones caught two passes for 25 yards, Vince Mayle two for 29 and Richard Mullaney added one catch for 13 yards, all in the second half. TIGHT END A staple in the Cowboys offense since the day he was drafted, Jason Witten leads the charge at tight end. With his selection to his seventh consecutive and overall Pro Bowl in 2010, Witten has made more appearances than any other tight end in club history. He added his ninth career Pro Bowl as an alternate following the 2013 season. In finishing his 13th pro season, Witten is one of the most prolific tight ends in league history and one of the top receivers in franchise history. He has strung together 12 consecutive seasons with at least 60 catches (one-of-three to do it). He has topped 70 catches in a season nine times, 80 catches in a season six times, and in four straight ( ), and has tallied at least 90 catches in a season four times - tied for the most by a tight end in league history. He finished 2012 with an all-time NFL tight end record 110 catches while also surpassing Michael Irvin (750) for the team s top receptions spot. Additionally, he has led the team in receptions eight times through his career, including six straight ( ). 5 Witten burst onto the scene as a pass-catching threat in just his second season (2004) with a then club tight end record 87 catches and 980 yards with six touchdowns. His receptions and yardage totals slipped a little in 2005 (66 for 757) but his touchdown total repeated itself (six). More receiving threats emerged in 2006 as his receiving totals from the previous season were virtually mirrored (64 for 754), but he again bounced to the forefront in 2007 with a team tight end record 96 catches for 1,145 yards - the first 1,000-yard season in team history by a tight end and a then career-best seven touchdowns. Witten finished 2008 with 81 catches for 952 yards with four touchdowns but again topped 90 catches (94) and 1,000 yards (1,030) with two touchdowns in The 2010 season was also a mirror from the previous season as he caught 94 passes (tops among league tight ends) for 1,002 yards and a club tight end record tying nine scores. He became the fifth tight end in league history (Kellen Winslow Sr., Todd Christensen, Shannon Sharpe and Tony Gonzalez) to post consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. He also became the second tight end to have back-to-back 90-catch seasons (Tony Gonzalez). In 2011 Witten paced the club for the fifth straight season, and sixth overall, with his 79 catches. He also led the team with 942 yards - his fifth straight, sixth overall, season - with at least 900 yards and was fourth with five touchdown catches. Witten closed out his 10th season (2012) with a team-best and all-time NFL tight end record 110 catches for his fourth 1,000-yard season (1,039 - second on the team) and three touchdowns. In Week 1 of 2013, Witten became the second Dallas Cowboy (Irvin) and third league tight end (Gonzalez and Sharpe) to reach the 9,000-yard milestone. He finished the season second on the squad with 73 catches, 851 yards and eight touchdowns. He did not disappoint in 2014, catching 64 passes for 703 yards and five touchdowns while also placing more emphasis on blocking in the run game, a part of his skill set that makes him one of the most complete tight ends to ever play the game. Witten also finished tied for eighth in the league with 22 first down receptions on third down, a stat that continued drives and helped Dallas lead the league in time of possession in 2014 at 32:50 per game. In 2015, Witten started all 16 games for the ninth consecutive season, (10th time overall) and led the team in receptions for the eighth time in his career, with 77 for 713 yards (second on the team) and three touchdowns (tied for second). He became the first Cowboy to play in 200 consecutive games, set a club record after playing in his 197th consecutive game and for catching a pass in his 118th straight game. He also became the first Cowboy, 12th all-around player, second tight end, to reach 1,000 career receptions and did it in 203 games - the sixth fastest player and fastest tight end. A model of durability, Witten has appeared in 214 of a possible 215 games - including playoffs - missing just one game after breaking his jaw against Arizona (10/5/03) and undergoing surgery to have three plates put in on Oct. 6, He has played in a team-record 203 consecutive regular season games - the second-longest active streak in the NFL (Shane Lechler, 222) and has started 147 consecutive games - the third-longest active streak (Eli Manning, 183, and Philip Rivers, 160). He has at least one catch in 201-of-206 regular season games played and at least one in each of seven playoff games. He has caught at least one pass in all but five games played, and he has a club-record streak of 119 consecutive games with a catch - his last game without a reception was at the N.Y. Giants (11/2/08). With a strong emphasis on the two-tight end set in Dallas, the Cowboys picked up a big target capable of stretching the field and winning oneon-one matchups when they drafted Gavin Escobar out of San Diego State in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Escobar collected nine passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie. In his second season, Escobar emerged as a seam threat and durable blocker in the run game from two tight end formations. He caught nine passes for 105 yards, but four of those catches went for touchdowns. The 2015 season saw him finish with eight catches for 64 yards before a torn Achilles put an end to his year. Following surgery and rehab, Escobar hopes to return to full health and continue to increase his playing time and contribute to the offense in both the running game and passing game. James Hanna came to Dallas in 2012 as the club s sixth round draft pick. Hanna prepped at nearby Flower Mound High School and played collegiately just up the interstate at Oklahoma, and has caught 33 passes for 286 yards in 62 games with 29 starts. The Dallas Cowboys traded a 2016 pick to acquire one last pick when they selected Geoff Swaim with the 246th pick in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Swaim finished his collegiate career at the University of Texas, seeing most of his playing time as a blocking tight end. He has the athletic ability to develop into an all-around tight end, and saw time in multiple tight end sets as a rookie, playing in four games with one start, sticking around the line most of the time as an extra run blocker. He will return in 2016 and compete for more playing time at a deep position for the Cowboys offense. Dallas added two rookies to their tight end pool for training camp in 2016 in rookie sixth round draft pick Rico Gathers (Baylor) and Austin Traylor (Wisconsin). Gathers played power forward on the basketball team at Baylor and is trying to follow in the successful footsteps of several other tight ends in the NFL who have transitioned from basketball to football, most notably Antonio Gates and Tony Gonzalez.

PERSONNEL BREAKDOWN -- OFFENSE, cont. Dallas 24, San Diego 28 - Jason Witten did not play (coaches decision), and with Gavin Escobar and James Hanna coming back from injuries, the Cowboys were short handed at tight end with only Geoff Swaim, Austin Traylor and Rico Gathers available against the Rams. Swaim started and did a solid job in the running game, helping the Cowboys to a 5.0 yard-per-carry average. He had two drops and finished with one catch for 10 yards. Traylor played in multiple tight end sets and contributed one catch for eight yards, while Gathers appeared in only two snaps offensively, tallying no stats. Dallas 41, Miami 14 - Jason Witten played two series on offense, catching two passes from Romo to convert first downs on Dallas first scoring possession of the game. Geoff Swaim also pulled down two catches, racking up 29 yards. Gavin Escobar added one catch for eight yards, and Austin Traylor and Rico Gathers both played minutes in the second half, but did not record any stats offensively. Dallas 17, Seattle 27 - Jason Witten played the first quarter, setting the edge for key runs by Elliott, and catching one pass from Prescott where he reached over a defender and plucked the ball out from his grasp for the first touchdown of the game. Geoff Swaim caught a team-leading five passes for 17 yards, while Austin Traylor caught two balls for 15 yards and Gavin Escobar caught one pass for no yards. Rico Gathers did not play in the game. OFFENSIVE LINE The Dallas Cowboys continued a commitment to ground-and-pound, chain-moving football when they drafted Zack Martin in the first round (16th overall) in the 2014 draft, their third offensive line first round selection in four years, after not selecting an offensive lineman in the first round since Howard Richards in The rebuild started with 2011 first round tackle Tyron Smith, and continued with 2013 first round center Travis Frederick (Wisconsin), culminating with Martin. After a dominating season in 2014 in which the Cowboys boasted the second-best rushing attack in the NFL and provided NFL Offensive Player of the Year DeMarco Murray huge holes to run through, T. Smith earned his second Pro Bowl nod while Frederick and Martin each earned their first. Martin was the first Cowboys rookie offensive lineman to make the Pro Bowl and he also earned a first-team AP All-Pro nod in the process, the only rookie in the NFL in 2014 and the third rookie in club history to receive the honor. The line also helped to compliment the Dallas defense, keeping the ball for an NFL-best 32:50 per game and keeping the defense fresh and rested for their assault on opposing offenses. The Cowboys again sent three linemen to the Pro Bowl, with Smith (third), Martin (second) and Frederick (second) all earning trips to the allstar game after helping Darren McFadden to his second career 1,000-yard rushing season and the first time in team history the Cowboys had two different running backs top 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons. Doug Free continued to be the steady veteran presence on the right side of the line, holding down the right tackle spot for all 16 games for the fifth time in his career. In 2015, Dallas signed La el Collins as a rookie free agent after he had to pull out of the 2015 NFL Draft for personal reasons. Despite being the rookie newcomer on a line that opened holes for the 2014 rushing champion (Murray, 1,845 yards), Collins hard work early in the season paid off as he took over the starting left guard spot six games in. By season s end, Collins played in 12 games with 11 starts, helping Darren McFadden to his second career 1,000- yard season, and giving Dallas glimpses of yet another young and talented piece to a dominating offensive front. Ron Leary gives the Cowboys one of the best reserve linemen in the league, as he relinquished his starting spot to Collins in 2015, but continues to be a solid interior lineman. After starting 30 games for Florida at both tackle positions, Chaz Green came to Dallas as a 2015 third round draft pick with position flex, foot quickness and movement skill to excel in the Cowboys zone-blocking scheme. His rookie season never really got underway after suffering a hip injury in the offseason and landing on Reserve/PUP. When he returned to the active roster, he was a game day inactive for each of the final five games of the season. Dallas also signed Cameron Bradfield on the eve of training camp in order to add a veteran presence at the swing tackle position on one of the league s best, young offensive line units. Bradfield originally signed with Jacksonville as a rookie free agent in 2011 and started 27-of-41 games for the Jaguars over four seasons. He was briefly with Atlanta and Arizona following his release by Jacksonville early in the 2014 season, and was out of football in Joe Looney was added to the mix on the interior of the line, as his ability to play both guard and center and get to the next level while run blocking will be key for Dallas as they head into the 2016 season looking to re-dedicate to the run game. First year players Bryan Witzmann (South Dakota State), along with rookies Jake Brendel (UCLA), Ryan Mack (Memphis), Boston Stiverson (Kansas State) and Dan Buchholz (Duquesne) will look to compete for backup positions on a very talented and young offensive line going into the 2016 season. The Cowboys also added rookie Mike McQueen midway through camp to compete for a job at the guard position. Dallas 24, Los Angeles 28 - The Cowboys lined up with four-of-five starters on the offensive line to begin the game, with only Tyron Smith out of the game at left tackle (coaches decision). Chaz Green started in his place at left tackle, and LG La el Collins, C Travis Frederick, RG Zack Martin and RT Doug Free all resumed their normal roles and played three series in the first half. The second unit included Green staying at left tackle, and saw Ron Leary at left guard, Joe Looney at center, Jake Brendel at right guard and Bryan Witzmann at right tackle. When Green left the game, Witzmann slid over the the left tackle spot, and Ryan Mack took over at right tackle. Jared Smith and Boston Stiverson saw some time late at the guard positions, while Cameron Bradfield and newly signed Mike McQueen did not play in the contest. Dallas 41, Miami 14 - The Cowboys opened the game with four-fifths of their starting unit up front in the game, with RT Doug Free, RG Zack Martin, C Travis Frederick, and LG La el Collins leading the offense. the exception was LT Chaz Green, who started in place of Tyron Smith (stinger). The linemen opened massive running lanes for Morris and did not allow a sack of Romo or Prescott in the passing game, helping the offense rack up 110 yards and control the clock for 9:43 in the first quarter. The second group consisted of Green at left tackle, LG Jared Smith, C Joe Looney, RG Ron Leary and RT Bryan Witzmann. The unit continued the first team s success, as Dallas moved up and down the field on offense, finishing the game with 433 yards. Jake Brendel mixed in at center, and G Mike McQueen, G Boston Stiverson and T Ryan Mack all saw time in rotation during the second half. Dallas 17, Seattle 27 - The entire starting unit of LT Tyron Smith, LG La el Collins, C Travis Frederick, RG Zack Martin and RT Doug Free began the game together for the first time this preseason, and they helped Dallas march down the field on an 81-yard touchdown drive on the second possession of the game. Smith then left the game and was replaced by Chaz Green, who played the most offensive snaps on the team, for the remainder of the contest. The second unit came in to start the second half and for the remainder of the game. It consisted of LT Green, LG Boston Stiverson, C Joe Looney, RG Jake Brendel and RT Bryan Witzmann. The entire second team offense struggled to get their rhythm, punting on the first four possessions of the second half before scoring a touchdown on a 64-yard drive late in the fourth quarter with the game out of reach. Ryan Mack (coaches decision), Ron Leary (coaches decision), Dan Buchholz (coaches decision) and Mike McQueen (coaches decision) all did not play in the game. 6
