I Reitz Arena I 7 p.m. LOYOLA UNIVERSITY MARYLAND Loyola is in its 45th season as a women s basketball program and its 35th year of competition as an NCAA Division I program. Prior to 1981, the Greyhounds competed in the Mid-Atlantic Region of the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW). The season was Loyola s inaugural year as a member of the Patriot League. Prior to joining the League, Loyola was a member of the Northeast Conference for nine seasons ( ), before joining the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in The Greyhounds posted an overall record of in MAAC games and won two MAAC Championships, in 1993 and THINGS TO KNOW Loyola plays in its final game of the regular season Wednesday when it hosts College of the Holy Cross for senior night. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. Prior to the game, the Greyhounds will honor seniors Diana Logan, Colleen Marshall and Jeneh Perry; as well as graduate student Steph Smith in a short ceremony at half court. With a record of 10-7 in the Patriot League, Loyola has secured a bye for the first round of the Patriot League Tournament. This will mark the first year since joining the Patriot League that the Greyhounds can finish the regular season no lower than the sixth seed. For the third-straight contest, Loyola held its opponent to less than 10 points in the first quarter on Saturday when it defeated American, 55-50, in Washington, D.C. For the first time since the season, Loyola has put together three-straight wins. Marshall and sophomore Bri Betz-White are averaging double figures in scoring, led by Marshall with 15.1 points per game. This season, she ranks fifth in points per game among Patriot League competitors and 13th in 3-point field goals made (1.5). Betz-White is averaging 10.4 points per game, which ranks 14th in the League. Marshall has scored in double figures in all but two League games and has grabbed 44 steals to average 2.6 per game. Holy Cross Infiniti Thomas-Waheed is the only other Patriot League competitor to record more steals, with 48 (2.8 per game). Perry is grabbing a team-best 8.9 rebounds per game, which ranks third among League competitors. The veteran forward is second in the Patriot League in offensive rebounds (3.5 per game) and took over as Loyola s career offensive rebounding leader on Wednesday, Feb. 17, surpassing Patty Stoffey s record of 247 from Entering the Holy Cross game, she has 267 offensive rebounds. SERIES HISTORY VERSUS HOLY CROSS Loyola and Holy Cross will meet for the second time in 14 days, as the teams take the court Wednesday night. The Crusaders own a one-game lead in the all-time series, 4-3, including a 3-2 advantage in Patriot League play. Earlier this season, Loyola defeated Holy Cross, 59-49, in Worcester, Massachusetts. The win marked the second-straight victory at the Hart Center for the Greyhounds, after splitting the series last season and defeating the Crusaders, 57-51, in Massachusetts. The victory also marked Loyola s 500th program win. In their first year as Patriot League foes, the Crusaders swept the Greyhounds, winning on the road, 80-65, and at home, Loyola and Holy Cross first met in 1990 as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Crusaders topped the Greyhounds, 82-50, in Massachusetts. Nine years later, Loyola defeated Holy Cross, 64-57, at the First Union Hawk Classic Tournament.

2 PATRIOT LEAGUE TOURNAMENT SCENARIOS Wednesday night, both Loyola and Holy Cross will be playing for home-court advantage in the quarterfinal round of the Patriot League Tournament. The Crusaders and Greyhounds have the potenetial to finish the regular season as high as the No. 3 seed with a win and a Lehigh loss. On the flip side, both teams have the potential to finish as low as the No. 6 seed with a loss and Navy win. LAST TIME OUT Loyola completed the season sweep and defeated American, 55-50, Saturday afternoon in Bender Arena. Senior Colleen Marshall led the Greyhounds with 16 points, while sophomore Bri Betz-White chipped in 15. Senior Jeneh Perry recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Loyola scored three of its five treys in the first quarter, while defensively holding American to less than 10 points in both the first and second quarters, but American put up a fight, as the game included six tied scores and six lead changes. With 8:24 to play in the fourth quarter, American hit a three-pointer to tie the score for the final time, 40-40, but Betz-White matched it with her own trey to secure the lead for the Greyhounds. PATRIOT LEAGUE HIGHLIGHTS The Greyhounds are closing out their best-ever year in Patriot League play. For the first time since joining the League in , Loyola has earned a bye for the first round of the upcoming Patriot League Tournament, as it can finish the regular season no lower than sixth. The season marked the last time Loyola closed out a regular season among the top-six teams in the conference. That year, the Greyhounds finished the regular season of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) in fourth place. In addition, the Greyhounds have won 10 conference games this year, their most since the campaign when Loyola went 15-3 in the MAAC. Under head coach Joe Logan, this is the Greyhounds fourth 10-plus win season in conference play. Loyola has swept four League foes this season - American, Boston University, Colgate and Lafayette - the most since joining the League three seasons ago. Loyola has also put together three wire-to-wire victories, including two in the Patriot League. The Greyhounds led Boston University and Colgate from the opening whistle to the final horn. Defensively in conference only games, the Greyhounds lead the League in steals (9.5 per game). They also take better care of the ball than their conference foes, leading the League in the turnover margin column at Loyola s scoring defense also ranks third in League only games, as they re giving up 54.7 points per game. PERRY BECOMES LOYOLA S ALL-TIME OFFENSIVE REBOUNDING LEADER On Wednesday, Feb. 17, senior Jeneh Perry broke Loyola s career record for offensive rebounds. Perry finished the game with six offensive rebounds to mover her career total to 252 and pass Patty Stoffey s record of 247 from POINT MARGIN OF VICTORY AT BOSTON UNIVERSITY On Saturday, Feb. 13, Loyola defeated Boston University, 67-46, in Case Gymnasium. With 3:38 to play in the fourth quarter, the Greyhounds led by as many as 27 points, 64-37, but the Terriers went on to score nine of the last 12 points to pull within 21 before the final buzzer. The 21-point victory marked the first time Loyola won by more than 20 points since the season when the Greyhounds defeated Iona College, FIRST HALF OF PATRIOT LEAGUE PLAY Loyola opened the first half of Patriot League play with its best conference start since the season, going 6-3 to close out the month of January. The season saw the Greyhounds win seven of their first nine Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contests. Loyola finished the season, arguably the most successful year in program history, by setting the school record for most conference games won in a single season, going The Greyhounds earned the No. 2 seed in the MAAC Championships that year and advanced to the title game for the seventh time. As this was Loyola s best start to conference play since joining the Patriot League, it was the fourth time under head coach Joe Logan that Loyola had won at least six of its first nine conference games. Alyssa Sutherland ( 09-13) HOLDING OPPONENTS TO LESS THAN 40 On two separate occasions this season - Wednesday, Jan. 13 against Navy and Sunday, Feb. 21 versus Colgate - Loyola held its opponent to less than 40 points, marking the first time since the season that the Greyhounds have accomplished such a feat. That year, Loyola held both Siena College and Manhattan College to less than 40 points in the same month. On February 2, Loyola defeated Siena, 53-37, and two weeks later, the Greyhounds held Manhattan to only 34 points, topping the Jaspers, 54-34, in Reitz Arena. Loyola has held 10 total programs to less than 40 points, including Iona College, Marist College, Wofford College, Lafayette College, Columbia Union, Salisbury State and the aforementioned teams from Navy, Colgate, Siena and Manhattan. The Greyhounds have held Navy to less than 40 points on two occasions, with the latest occurring earlier this season. Previously, the Mids fell to Loyola, 42-38, November 13, #SCTOP10 On Saturday, Jan. 2, Loyola was featured on SportsCenter Top 10 following a last-second Patriot League victory over Lafayette College in Reitz Arena. Senior Colleen Marshall s layup off an inbound pass from graduate student Steph Smith sent the Greyhounds past the Leopards, PATRIOT LEAGUE OPENER For the second-straight season, Loyola opened its conference slate with a win against the previous year s regular season champion. On Wednesday, Dec. 30, the Greyhounds defeated American University, The Eagles won the Patriot League regular season title. The previous year, Loyola opened its conference slate against Navy, the regular season champion, and beat the Midshipmen, PERRY IN THE POST On Sunday, Dec. 20, senior Jeneh Perry grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds in a game against the UMBC Retrievers. Perry was one-board shy of tying a Loyola single-game record, as only Patty Stoffey ( ) grabbed more rebounds in a single contest. Stoffey set the single-game school record at 19 rebounds against Niagara University in A RECORD WIN AGAINST NORFOLK STATE Loyola led wire-to-wire Saturday, Nov. 21, defeating Norfolk State University, 75-67, in Reitz Arena. The last time Loyola led wire-to-wire was January 17, 2015, at Boston University s Case Gym. The Greyhounds defeated the Terriers in a Patriot League matchup, For the first time since November 14, 2014, Loyola recorded 70-plus points in a single game. The Greyhounds had their best shooting night in almost two years when the team shot 48.2 percent from the floor. The last time Loyola shot 48 percent or better from the field was Saturday, Jan. 11 at Lehigh s Stabler Arena. The Greyhounds made 24 of their 50 field goal attempts to record their first Patriot League win as a member institution. Loyola defeated Lehigh, TO START THE YEAR For the first time since , the Greyhounds opened the regular season with a win. On Friday, Nov. 13, Loyola defeated Lipscomb University, 57-52, in Allen Arena. In 2009, Loyola defeated LaSalle University, 69-55, to go 1-0 for the third-straight season under head coach Joe Logan. MARSHALL NAMED PRESEASON ALL-PATRIOT LEAGUE TEAM Senior Colleen Marshall was named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team, becoming the seventh Greyhound under head coach Joe Logan to earn a preseason conference honor. An All-Patriot League Second Team honoree a year ago, Marshall led the League and ranked 33rd in the NCAA in steals, with 2.59 per game. In contributing 13.4 points per game, she ranked seventh in the Patriot League in scoring and also led Loyola in field goals made (135), 3-point field goals made (44) and free throws made (75). Marshall and Army West Point senior Kelsey Minato, who was voted the Preseason Patriot League Player of the Year, were the only guards to pick up preseason honors, while three forwards rounded out the five-member team: Holy Cross senior Raquel Scott, Lehigh junior Lexi Martins and Bucknell junior Claire DeBoer. WELCOME BACK The Greyhounds returned nine players from a team that went 7-23 overall last season. Loyola is one of 25 NCAA Division I programs to return all five starters from the season.

In , Logan coached the Greyhounds to their first postseason victory in program history by knocking off Old Dominion, 67-65, in the first round of the WNIT. That same year, Logan led Loyola to a second 20-plus win season in his tenure, as the Greyhounds tied a program record 21 wins in With a win at Siena College on January 7, 2012, Logan picked up his 101st victory to record more wins than any other head coach in Loyola women s basketball history. Throughout his tenure, Logan registered the most Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference wins (76) than any other Loyola head coach. He also led the Greyhounds to two trips to the title game of the MAAC Championships (2006 and 2011). He led the Greyhounds to arguably the most successful year in program history in , tying the record for most wins in a single season with 21, and setting the mark for the most conference wins in a single season with 15. Under Logan, nine student-athletes have been named to all-conference teams. Two players earned MAAC Sixth Player of the Year honors, while eight players have been named to allconference rookie teams. In 2011, guard Katie Sheahin became Logan s first conference player of the year. Sheahin received back-to-back MAAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2011 and On Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, Logan guided Loyola to its 500th program victory. Army West Point and Bucknell will be the top two seeds, which could potentially be determined by College Basketball News RPI ratings. Lehigh has clinched a quarterfinal home game and will be the third or fourth seed. Holy Cross and Loyola Maryland will play for the last quarterfinal home game.
