If Pittsburgh holds San Diego to less than 180 net passing yards it will mark the eighth game in a row and the 10th time this season the Steelers did not allow their opponent to register at least 180 net passing yards. The Pittsburgh defense is looking to extend its regular-season streak of holding teams under 300 net passing yards to 36 games. The last time the Steelers allowed a team to record at least 300 net passing yards was on 11/14/10 vs. New England (350). Pittsburgh s defense will try and hold the opposing quarterback to a passer rating of 80.0 or less for the ninth straight game and the 10th time this season. The Steelers defense is looking to register at least one takeaway for the 11th game this season. Pittsburgh is looking to record its fourth individual 100-yard rushing performance of the season for the first time since Willie Parker (4) and Mewelde Moore (1) combined for five 100+ yard rushing games in PITTSBURGH INDIVIDUAL NOTES Head Coach Mike Tomlin If Pittsburgh wins, will improve to during the regular season, including at home. Looking to improve to 4-0 against San Diego, including the postseason. If the Steelers win, will improve to 18-8 in regular-season games in December/January. Pittsburgh has registered a regular-season record of 4-1 in each of the past two seasons in December/ January. QB Ben Roethlisberger If Roethlisberger registers at least 134 passing yards, he will become the 25th quarterback in NFL history to throw for at least 29,000 yards and run for at least 1,000 yards during the regular season. Looking to record a passer rating of for the fourth time this season, which would tie for the second most times he has registered a passer rating of at least in the same regular season (four in 2004 / five in 2009). Is looking to throw for at least 360 yards for the third time this season, which would tie 2011 (3) for the second most times he has thrown for at least 360 yards in one season (2009, 4). QB Charlie Batch If Batch starts it will be the first time that he started three consecutive games since the 2001 season when he started eight straight games for the Detroit Lions. If Batch starts he will be looking to improve to 7-3 as a starter for the Steelers. RB Jonathan Dwyer Looking to eclipse 100 yards rushing for the third time this season. It would mark the most 100-yard rushing games by a Steelers player during one regular season since Rashard Mendenhall registered three 100+ yard rushing games in TE Heath Miller Is two receiving touchdowns away from passing Louis Lipps (39) for the fifth most in franchise history. WR Mike Wallace If he records at least 100 yards receiving, it will mark the 14th 100- yard game of his career. WR Emmanuel Sanders Looking to record at least one reception in a career-best 19 consecutive games played, including the 2011 regular and postseason. LB James Harrison Looking to record at least one sack in a career-best four consecutive games. LB LaMarr Woodley Needs 1.5 sacks to tie Greg Lloyd (53.5, ) for the fifthmost sacks by a Steelers player since sacks became an official statistic in Looking to tie his single-season career high (2010) with his second interception of the season. LB Jason Worilds Looking to register his third multi-sack game of his career and the second in three weeks. CB Ike Taylor Looking to extend his consecutive games played streak to 136 games. S Troy Polamalu Needs one interception to become the ninth Steelers player to record 30 career interceptions. With one fumble return for a touchdown, will tie Jason Gildon (3) for the most fumbles returned for touchdowns in franchise history. Is one defensive touchdown shy of tieing Carnell Lake, Dwayne Woodruff and Jack Butler (5) for the second-most defensive touchdowns in Steelers history (Rod Woodson, 6). 8 TEAM NOTES Heinz Field Advantage: The Steelers own the best home record in the NFL with a record (.725) since Pittsburgh, currently 4-1 at home, started 4-0 at Heinz Field this season for the fourth time under Head Coach Mike Tomlin (2007, 09, 11). Since the start of the 2011 regular season the Steelers are 11-2 at home during the regular season. Pittsburgh is (.747) at home since Heinz Field opened in The Steelers.747 winning percentage in regular-season games at Heinz Field is the third-highest winning percentage of any team at a stadium since 1970 (min. 25 games). Rams LA Memorial Coliseum *current NFL stadium Note: Ties prior to 1972 do not count in winning percentage The 2011 season marked the first time Pittsburgh finished with a 7-1 record at home since It was the 12th time since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970 that the Steelers won at least seven regular-season games at home, including the fourth time at Heinz Field (2001, 04, 07). In the first five seasons under Tomlin, the Steelers won at least five games at home each season. The last time Pittsburgh did not win at least five home games in a season was Since 2004, Pittsburgh and New England are the only teams in the league to register at least five wins at home during each regular season. Pittsburgh finished the 2004 regular season with an undefeated (8-0) home record for only the third time in team history and for the first time in 25 years. The Steelers finished the 1979 regular season with an undefeated home record (8-0) and eventually won Super Bowl XIV. The Steelers were also undefeated at home (7-0) in The following is a look at the list of the Steelers records at home since 2004: Year Record Defense Feels At Home: The Steelers have yielded only 62 points in five home games this season. Pittsburgh s 12.4 points per game allowed at home leads the NFL this season. Team Home GP Points Per Game Allowed at Home Pittsburgh Seattle San Francisco Chicago In eight home games in 2011, the Steelers allowed a total of 80 points, giving up 10.0 points per game, the lowest in the NFL. It was also the sixth lowest in Steelers history: Year Points Per Game Allowed at Home Since Dick LeBeau has been defensive coordinator (2004- present), the Steelers have allowed an average of 15.2 points per game at Heinz Field, which is first in the NFL over that time span for points given up at home during the regular season. If You Build It, They Will Come: The Steelers have averaged 62,542 fans in five home games this season. If Pittsburgh holds that average for the rest of the season, it will mark the ninth straight regular season they averaged over 62,000 fans per game. In 2011, Pittsburgh registered a total attendance of 504,279, marking the fourth consecutive season that over 503,000 fans attended games at Heinz Field. Since Heinz Field opened in 2001, Pittsburgh has recorded over 503,000 fans six times. In the 2010 AFC Championship victory over the N.Y. Jets, the Steelers broke the single-game record. The attendance of 66,662 surpassed the old mark of 65,597 set October 25, 2009, during a game versus the Minnnesota Vikings. The previous regular-season record was 65,392, which was set on November 16, 2009 versus Cincinnati. Pittsburgh set the team home attendance record in 2009 by averaging 63,458 (507,882 total). Pittsburgh has sold out 309 straight games at home, dating back to Nov. 5, 1972 versus Cincinnati. Much of Pittsburgh s success over the last seven weeks has been fueled by defense. In the last seven games the Steelers have not allowed an opponent to score more than 20 points. Pittsburgh has limited each opponent over the last seven weeks to less then 180 net passing yards. The Steelers have held three of the last seven teams to 200 or less total net yards (Cincinnati, 185 / New York Giants, 182 / Baltimore Ravens, 200). Below is the Steelers stats in the first five games compared to the last six games: Games 1-5 Games 6-12 Record Total Net Yards Allowed 1,479 (295.8) 1,638 (234.0) Net Rushing Yards Allowed 475 (95.0) 642 (91.7) Net Passing Yards Allowed 1,004 (200.8) 996 (142.3) Points Allowed 115 (23.0) 115 (16.4) Points Allowed - 4th Quarter 47 (9.4) 6 (0.86) The Steelers defense has been especially tough on opposing quarterbacks, allowing only four passing touchdowns compared to five interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown by LB Lawrence Timmons (Week 12), in the last seven games. Pittsburgh has not allowed a quarterback to register a passer rating of at least 80.0 since 10/7/12. The last five quarterbacks the Steelers have faced (Andy Dalton, Robert Griffin III, Eli Manning, Matt Cassel, Brandon Weeden and Joe Flacc-twice) have combined to go 104-of-204 (50.9) for 1,071 yards with four

Weeden J. Flacco Part Of The Challenge: Pittsburgh has been dealt a serious number of injuries this year. The Steelers 2012 first-round pick, G David DeCastro, spent the first 11 games of the season on Reserve/Injured; Designatedto Return List before being reactivated. The Steelers third-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, LB Sean Spence, and TE/FB David Johnson, who started all 16 games for the Steelers in 2011, suffered injuries during the preseason that have sidelined them all year. As the season has progressed starting T Marcus Gilbert and reserve LB Chris Carter have been placed on injured reserve. As the Steelers get players back from injury others go down. Just as Pittsburgh saw the return of S Troy Polamalu for the win over the Ravens (Week 13), they were without LB LaMarr Woodley for the third time this season and CB Ike Taylor suffered a gameending injury in the first quarter. G Willie Colon has been sent to an emergency backup role in the last couple of games due to injury as well. This season Pittsburgh has had to count on backups at quarterback, running back, wide receiver, tackle, guard, center, outside linebacker, cornerback and both safety positions. The Steelers have even moved guys to different positions to cover for injured players. Maurkice Pouncey had started his entire career at center until Week 13 at Baltimore when he moved to guard due to Colon s injury. The Steelers victory at New York came after the team traveled on the same day it played, something it had not done before for a regular-season game. Pittsburgh, led by thirdstring QB Charlie Batch, ended the Ravens 15-game home winning streak with victory in Week 13. Dating back to the start of 2007 season, the Steelers are on the road. Pittsburgh s 27 road wins are tied for the third most (Indianapolis) in the NFL over that time span. Pittsburgh has allowed the fewest points in the NFL since the beginning of the 2007 season. Pittsburgh has allowed just 1,505 points during that span. The Steelers defense boasts the number-one pass defense in the NFL, giving up a total of net yards passing per game. Pittsburgh s pass defense, on average, gives up 22.3 less net passing yards per game than the San Francisco 49ers, the team ranked second in the NFL in pass defense. The Steelers pass defense also has given up the fewest passing first downs (113) and is tied with the Kansas City Chiefs for the fewest completions (202). The Steelers are also tied for the fourthfewest passes of 25+ yards (16) allowed in the NFL this season. The Steelers have held eight of their 12 opponents to less than 170 net passing yards, seven of those coming in their past nine games. Last season marked the first time that Pittsburgh limited at least two teams to under 80 net passing yards during the regular season since 1992 (four teams). Dating back to 1970, it was the ninth time the Steelers defense held opponents under 80 net passing yards multiple times in one regular season (1992-4; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ). Under Head Coach Mike Tomlin (2007-present) the Steelers have given up a league-low net passing yards per game during the regular season: Team Net Passing Yards/Game (2007-Present) Pittsburgh New York Jets Indianapolis Baltimore Philadelphia Since the start of the 2007 season, Pittsburgh s defense has allowed only 99 passing touchdowns, which is the fewest in the NFL over that time span.

10 LOOKING AHEAD... The Steelers take their final road trip of the regular season to play the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, Dec. 16, at Cowboys Stadium. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET and will be televised on CBS (locally KDKA-TV, channel 2). Primetime Team: Pittsburgh played the final of its orginally scheduled five primetime games against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11. The Steelers were one of two teams to appear in five primetime games in the first 11 weeks of the season (Chicago). The Steelers played three of the five primetime games on the road and finished 2-3. Under Head Coach Mike Tomlin, Pittsburgh is in primetime games, including 7-1 on Monday Night Football. The Steelers overtime win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 10 was Pittsburgh s 15th consecutive win at home on Monday Night Football, the longest streak in MNF history. The Steelers are one of only two teams in the NFL this season (New York Giants) to have played or have scheduled primetime games in back-to-back weeks twice (Weeks 6-7 and 10-11), and both times the Steelers finished 1-1 in the set of games.the Giants have played in primetime in consecutive weeks once already this season and went 1-1. New York has one more set of primetime games to go in Weeks Continued Success: With a victory over the Washington Redskins in Week 8, the Steelers became the first team to reach 400 wins since the 1970 merger of the National and American Football Leagues. Pittsburgh last lost to an NFC team at Heinz Field in 2008 (21-14, vs. New York Giants). Prior to losing to the Giants, Pittsburgh had won eight straight games versus NFC teams at home. The Steelers are 6-2 versus the NFC in the Super Bowl. Sustaining Success: Pittsburgh has made the playoffs seven times, including in 2011, and won the AFC North five times since the divisional realignment in The Steelers won the AFC North Division three times in last four years. Although the Steelers finished with an identical 12-4 record in 2011, the Baltimore Ravens won the division and got a first round bye in the playoffs because the Ravens beat the Steelers twice.
