3 2016 SCHEDULE NOTES The Steelers have won each of their fi rst two primetime games in 2016, a Kickoff Weekend Monday Night Football victory at the Washington Redskins (38-16) and a Week Four Sunday Night Football win vs. Kansas City at Heinz Field (43-14). The Steelers will appear in their eighth Thanksgiving Day game in team history in Week 12 (Nov. 24) at the Indianapolis Colts (NBC, 8:30 p.m.). Pittsburgh s fourth nationally televised primetime contest occurs at the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 15 on Sunday Night Football, Dec. 18 (NBC, 8:30 p.m.). Pittsburgh will host the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16 (NFL Network, 4:30 p.m.) on Dec. 25 to mark the fi rst Christmas Day game in franchise history. COLOR RUSH ON CHRISTMAS DAY Pittsburgh will debut its color rush uniforms on Christmas Day when the team hosts the Baltimore Ravens at Heinz Field. Steelers President Art Rooney II announced during halftime of the team s fi rst preseason game on KDKA-TV that the team s color rush uniforms will be all black with gold numbers THROWBACKS IN WEEK 5 The Steelers wore their 1934 throwback uniforms in Week Five against the New York Jets at Heinz Field. This marked the fi fth straight season Pittsburgh donned their 1934 throwback uniforms and the last occasion. LB Tyler Matakevich (7th round, 246th overall): The Temple all-time leading tackler with 493 stops, became the fi rst school defensive player to earn first-team All-America honors and the first at any position since 1986 (Paul Palmer)...was the only player in the FBS to lead his team in tackles in every game in 2015, and became just the seventh player in NCAA history to eclipse the 100-tackle plateau in four seasons. DOLPHINS Miami 34, Pittsburgh 28 Dec. 8, 2013 Heinz Field (52,489) PITTSBURGH The Steelers last second attempt to score a touchdown ended when WR Antonio Brown stepped out of bounds, and Pittsburgh lost, 34-28, to the Miami Dolphins at Heinz Field. On the Steelers fi nal play, there were numerous laterals and it appeared Brown scored a touchdown, but he stepped out of bounds at the Dolphins 12-yard line. QB Ben Roethlisberger and WR Emmanuel Sanders connected on a fi ve-yard touchdown pass late in the fi rst quarter to give Pittsburgh the early 7-0 lead. On the play, Roethlisberger passed Terry Bradshaw (212) for the most passing touchdowns in franchise history during the regular season. The Dolphins then scored 17 unanswered points. K Caleb Sturgis made a 30-yard fi eld goal, QB Ryan Tannehill threw a six-yard pass to TE Charles Clay and RB Daniel Thomas scored on a four-yard run to give Miami a 17-7 lead early in the third quarter. But the Steelers quickly took a lead, scoring twice in less than one minute. Roethlisberger and Brown connected on a 43-yard touchdown, and S Troy Polamalu picked off Tannehill and returned it 19 yards for a score. Miami scored on its ensuing possession when Tannehill threw a four-yard touchdown pass to WR Brian Hartline to give the Dolphins a lead. Pittsburgh responded on its next drive, going 78 yards on 11 plays. Roethlisberger capped off the drive with a 16-yard touchdown pass to WR Jerricho Cotchery to give Pittsburgh a lead. The Dolphins marched 80 yards in just four plays on their fi nal drive. Thomas had a 55-yard run to the Steelers 16-yard line, and two plays later Tannehill and Clay connected on a 12-yard touchdown to give the Dolphins the decisive victory.
