St. Norbert, tied atop the Midwest Conference with Monmouth, has won 17 consecutive Homecoming games. About the Green Knights: St. Norbert improved to 4-2 overall and 4-0 in the Midwest Conference after clobbering Lawrence 62-0 this past Saturday in Appleton. Junior running back Elijah Fort leads the Green Knights in rushing with 498 yards on 91 carries and seven touchdowns. Senior quarterback J.T. Crosby has completed 75 of 132 passes for 1,132 yards with 11 touchdowns and five interceptions and has also rushed for 336 yards on 59 carries and nine touchdowns. Senior wide receiver Zach Reeves has caught 14 passes for 165 yards and one touchdown, while junior wide receiver Brett Olson has 13 catches for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Freshman wide receiver Samuel Staehling has caught 12 passes for 437 yards and five touchdowns. Sophomore linebacker Matt Barrett leads the defense with 53 tackles. Senior defensive back Ryan Grandlic has 49 tackles with two interceptions, while senior Alec Swanson had 31 tackles with six passes defended. St. Norbert is averaging 40.5 points and yards per game. Defensively, the Green Knights are allowing 20.5 points and yards per game. About the Red Hawks: Ripon enters the game with a 1-6 overall record and a 1-4 mark in the Midwest Conference following a setback to Beloit this past Saturday in Ripon. The Red Hawks option attack is led by freshman running back Austin Bunders, who has 397 yards rushing on 27 attempts and one touchdown. Junior running back Cody Chase has 383 yards rushing on 78 attempts and four touchdowns. Freshman quarterback Sam Shroyer has 294 rushing yards on 58 attempts and four touchdowns while completing 32 of 74 passes for 572 yards and three touchdowns with six interceptions. Sophomore wide receiver Cameron Mignone has a team-high 10 receptions for 173 yards and two touchdowns. Sophomore linebacker Ethan Hoffman leads the Red Hawks in tackles with 52. Junior linebacker Hunter Gruenwald has 41 tackles, while junior linebacker Parker Groves has 38 tackles. Ripon is averaging 18.3 points and yards per game. Defensively, the Red Hawks are allowing 34.7 points and yards per game. Happy Homecomings: St. Norbert's Homecomings have typically given alumni a cause to celebrate, with the Green Knights going in the fall classics. Last season, St. Norbert beat Lawrence 63-6 for its Homecoming victory. The Green Knights have enjoyed great Homecoming success since joining the Midwest Conference for football in 1984, going St. Norbert has won 24 of its last 25 Homecoming contests and 17 consecutive dating back to Since 1984, St. Norbert has beaten Ripon for Homecoming on eight different occasions. The only MWC schools to spoil Homecoming was the Univ. of Chicago in 1985 (7-6 loss), Beloit in 1990 (16-10 loss) and Grinnell in 1998 (49-28 loss). Shutout Stuff: St. Norbert s 62-0 win over Lawrence this past Saturday matched the second-largest margin of victory in a shutout win in school history. The Green Knights largest margin of victory in a shutout was a 66-0 rout of Northland on Oct. 2, 1948.
