His 2-yd. TD run was his 5th of the season and 18th of his career. HYDE S GOLDEN NUGGETS A passionate fisherman, Hyde enjoys spending time miles off the coast of the Atlantic. From sheepshead to snook fish, Hyde has come across many exotic types. Played on the 2007 Naples state champion football team (Naples, FL). He also played basketball, ran track and mentored elementary school children throughout high school. Hyde credits three people in particular for helping him achieve success. I credit my mom, my grandmother and Bill Kramer, my high school coach. He is basically the one that got me on the right path. Coming from Cincinnati, I wasn t on the right track grade-wise. So, he got me on the right track and got me caught up with my grades. In addition to helping him with everything off the field, he is directly responsible for how Hyde lines up on the gridiron. I was actually trying to play defense in high school and he let me play running back. He s just always been there for me. 2 GOLDMINE NFL players once again had the chance to share the causes that are important to them during all Week 13 games, as part of the NFL s My Cause, My Cleats campaign. The initiative was a culmination of collaborative work between the NFL and players across the league. I want to advocate for animals because they are a source of happiness to those around them, like my dog, Max, is for me, said Hyde. In 2016, Hyde partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Silicon Valley on a new program that ran during the 2016 NFL season for fans to join Hyde in support of the Clubs programs for kids. Fans shared in the success of Hyde and the 49ers offense through a unique, performance based campaign called Touchdowns for Kids. Fans pledged any dollar amount for every touchdown the 49ers score during the 2016 NFL season. At the end of each game, pledges turned into donations that directly benefited the youth that attend the clubs. Hyde and the other members of the 49ers 2014 rookie draft class visited Oak Grove High School to launch the 49ers Mentorship Program. The program focuses on character development through mentorship and accountability. Hyde and his teammates spent the afternoon with the boy s varsity football team and taught them about the mentor/mentee relationship and the pros and cons of posting on social media. As part of the 49ers annual Thanksgiving celebrations, Hyde and his teammates visted Cityteam San Jose to serve a holiday feast to over 300 people in need. Guests enjoyed turking along with all of the usual holiday sides, while getting to know the 49ers. In May of 2017, in partnership with Super Baskets of Hope, Hyde, along with teammates WR Pierre Garçon and QB Brian Hoyer, distributed baskets and totes filled with toys, educational materials, games, craft items, music, stuffed animals, gift cards, and more to hospitalized children and their families at a local Bay Area Hospital. Parents were given a Basket of Hope, donated by Vera Bradley, filled with items to nourish them physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Hyde spent time with the children and their families while delivering the gift baskets in an effort to spread joy and inspiration during a difficult time. After spending his first year of high school in Cincinnati, Hyde moved to Naples, FL, to live with his grandparents. It was definitely for the better. I was headed down the wrong route in Cincinnati. Moving to Naples got me on the right route and back into sports and I was fortunate enough to earn a scholarship. After scoring his first NFL touchdown against Dallas in Week 1 of the 2014 season, Hyde gave his grandmother, Irma Butler, the ball to commemorate the occasion.
