The T are 3 from the G. The A & B are 1yd x 1yd from the T. The is always 3 ½-4 yards behind the football. The X & Y, in base, are 16 yds from the T but no closer than 6 yds from the sideline. In Trips the inside split end is 3 yds from the T and the outside split end is 5 yds from the T. In Goal Line the X is 16 yds from the T but no closer than 6 yds from the side line. The Y is in a 2 pt stance 4 feet from the T. Hole Numbering= X T G C G T Y
3 Motion= We run No Motion, Jet, Veer, and Rocket Motion. In our Veer package the motion is the same as rocket. The only difference is that we hike the ball much sooner than in Rocket Motion. 4 Rocket Motion= X Y T G C G T X T G C G T Y X T G C G T Y X T G C G T Y A Q B A Q B A-Rocket
5 Q- Cadence= set (pause)2-90,set,go. On the snap make a 180 pivot on your right foot (left if B Rocket). Turn your head around to your left shoulder & bring the football to your right hip. The pitch is made from the hip using both hands to pitch the ball towards the A Slot. As you shift the ball to the slot shift your weight to your left foot. The pitch is made on your left foot. Pitch technique- Hip to Heart= the pitch is flat and firm to the A Slot. No sping or flicking of the football. - Alignment- Heels at 3 1/2 to 4 yds off of the football. On the snap ake dive to the 4 hole. Stress the motion of receiving a hand off. This will set up future plays off of the Rocket Motion. A Slot- Leave on 2 and sprint towards the heels of the. Your aim point is ½ yd behind the heels. You should be directly behind the when the ball is snapped.stay parrell to the LOS. You should receive the ball just outside the B Slot s outside leg. Run to the numbers and stretch the defense before you try to cut up field. ALWAYS look the ball into your hands. B Slot- Block the outside linebacker. DO NOT GET HELD UP BY THE DEENSIVE END. If the olb is wide than aim for a spot about 2-3 yds outside of him, aim for his outside shoulder. Ideally we need you to hook him. If he beats you than stretch him. T- Play side- Peel up to next level and block an inside backer. Away side T-protect your inside gap and then reach the next level and block a line backer. G- Playside-pull tand try to help the B slot block the outside line backer. Away side guard- protect inside gap. C- Protect inside gap and reach the next level. Block a flowing linebacker. X & Y- Run 5-7 yds towards the defensive back and aim for his outside shoulder. Get inside of him Try to hook him toward the sideline. If you can t achieve this block than stalk block him. B Rocket 33 G Q- Same technique & Cadence as Rocket with no pitch. Reverse pivot and handoff to the at the 3 hole.
6 - Open with counter step, then drive directly to the 3 an angle. Take the handoff and run to daylight. B Slot- Same technique as Rocket. A Slot- Same technique as Rocket. T- Play side T will open inside and run flat to block the inside DT. Away side T will protect inside gap. G- Play side G will open outside, PULL, and block out the DE. C- Protect inside gap and reach the next level. Block a flowing linebacker. X & Y- Run 5-7 yds towards the defensive back and aim for his outside shoulder. Get inside of him Try to hook him toward the sideline. If you can t achieve this block than stalk block him. A Veer 34 Give Q- Cadence- Set-Go. At snap Q must step parallel to the three hole, handing off to the. Q must carry out the option fake at full speed.
7 - must aim for the outside leg of the G. The T and the G will double the DT. must be able to hit hole hard at an angle and veer up field. A Slot- On set you must start to sprint in rocket motion toward the heels. The ball should be snapped when you cross the guard. Run directly through where the was. Keep a 3 ½ to 4 yd distance between you and the Q. Carry out the option fake. It is key that you run this at full speed. B Slot- Arch and reach the OLB. Your tail should face the sideline. T- Play side should double the DT. You must hit this double team hard to clear out the hole for the. Away side T, protect your inside gap. G- Engage the DT in front of you and help the T double the DT in front of you. C- Protect inside gap. A Jet Q- Cadence- Set,-GO!! The ball must be snapped when the slot is directly behind the guard. The Q takes a 6 jab step towards the Play side G. The Q will then turn his back directly towards the LOS. It is the Q responsibility to get the football to the slot. After the handoff, fake the handoff to the, then boot in the opposite direction.
8 - At the snap the must hit the 2 hole. There should be no daylight between the and the A-Slot. A Slot- On set you must run full speed towards the Q. You should take the handoff and bend ½ yard away from your path. You must stretch the defense and get to the numbers, then you must head for the sideline. B Slot- You must try to seal the outside lb. You will achieve this by releasing at an angle toward the sideline and then block the ilb inside. Your tail must be facing the sideline. T- Play side T must arch release and hook the de. The away side T must block the nearest lb on the next level. G- Play side G must pull and get past the EMLOS & block the flowing lb. Away side guard will block the nearest lb on the next level. C- Protect inside gap and reach the next level. Block a flowing linebacker. X & Y- Run 5-7 yds towards the defensive back and aim for his outside shoulder. Get inside of him Try to hook him toward the sideline. If you can t achieve this block than stalk block him. Coaching Points 1. Do not block anything inside the 5 Technique! They can not stop the play. 2. Coach the halfback to get to the "Jungle," five yards from the sideline. The play is a sideline play. B Jet 33 Ice Q- (Only run this play to the 1 technique) Cadence- Set-Go. The ball should be snapped when the B-Slot is directly behind the right guard. Q takes a flat 6 jab step left towards the left guard with his left foot. The Q will pivot his body 180 so that his back is towards the LOS. The Q must keep the football in his stomach and sell a good fake to the B Slot. The Q must then hand the ball off to the.
9 - On the snap aim directly for the 3 hole. Step with your playside foot. If the is hitting the hole too fast have him take a jab step in the opposite direction and then head for the 3 hole. There should be no daylight between you and the B Slot. Take the hand off and hit the hole hard. B Slot- On set sprint towards the Q in a straight line. The ball should be snapped when your at the outside leg of the right side G. ake hand off, run at an angle away from the LOS. Then cut up field and block any player scrapping across. SELL, SELL, SELL, THE AKE. This is the key to this play working A Slot-Cheat in one (1) step. Try not to tip the defense off to a tendency. Inside foot to the out side foot of the tackle. Go through the 3 hole and explode the nearest line backer. T- Play side- aim for the defensive ends inside shoulder and lead him out of the play. Away side- protect your inside gap. G- Playside- this play must be ran to a defensive tackle playing a 1 technique (lined up on your inside shoulder. Scoop block the defensive tackle. Try to get your back towards the 3 hole. Away side guard- protect your inside gap. C- If you have a man head up block him, if you are uncovered then move to the next level and block a linebacker. X & Y- Same technique as Rocket.
