FOR YOUR INFORMATION: Are you aware that the city of mobile pays $80.00 per game for officials, scorekeepers, and clock operators. This amount will total approximately $80, by the end of the Basketball season. The teams pay nothing to the City toward this huge amount. Most parents think that the registration fee, paid at the park, pays for game officials/referees and this is not true. The MPRD requires high school level referees to officiate games but adults continue to complain and interfere. City officials are having discussions to remove this benefit from our youth because of this interference and the problems that it brings. Guess who will ultimately pay for the officials in the future? Do not allow negative actions of a few to destroy this program. This benefit for citywide sports did not come about easily and is the only one of its kind in the southeast and beyond. Once removed, it will not return.

These games will be played February 27, The ARPA state basketball tournament will be held Friday thru Sunday March 11-13, 2016 in Gadsden, Alabama.
