3 Our Theory of Football. Victory favors the TEAM executing the best and making the fewest mistakes. - this involves being fundamentally sound, and working to eliminate the things which can cause us to beat ourselves.. KIPP IT - Keep it Prudent Partner - do a few things very well as opposed to doing many things very average; teach only what our players can handle.. Create Confusion for the Opponent - make our opponents think; this often times takes away their aggressiveness.. Develop TEAM SPIRIT - create an atmosphere to sacrifice personal interests or glory for the welfare of all; the TEAM always comes first. Always Think Positive Stay on the Aggressive Strive For Perfection Enjoy the Game & Enjoy Life What are we looking for in a student-athlete? A. Ability Athletic ability and an intense desire to contribute to the TEAM B. Books Academic ability and a strong desire to earn a college degree C. Character Quality Character - both on and off the field Values Taught Positive Mental Attitude Work Ethic with a Smile Dependability Preparation Brings Success Positive Response to Adversity Team Spirit Faith We would love to have YOU join the Franklin Football Family!!! 9 The RED ATTACK Offense The RED ATTACK Offense is a unique offensive attack that is associated with the tradition of Franklin College and our legendary coach Stewart Red Faught. Our explosive offensive attack utilizes many Run-and-Shoot principles and is designed to continually keep our offense on the aggressive and the opponent s defense on the defensive. We will have four different VERSATILE personnel groups that we can employ in any given game, ranging from our base set of one back with four wides, to utilizing one or two tight ends with two backs in the backfield. We love to pass the ball, but believe that a pass play is no better or worse than a run play whatever it takes to get the ball in the endzone is good for us. Moreso than the Xs and Os involved, the most important aspect will be our attitude. Our motto has and always will be: Go Reckless, Stay Loose, Enjoy Football! RED ATTACK It s an Attitude! The GRIZZLY - Defense The GRIZZLY - is an attacking, aggressive style of defense which incorporates blitzes from every position on the field. Our goal is to keep the offense on their heels. We want to pressure the Offensive Linemen and Quarterback by using a combination of line stunts, zone pressures, and all-out blitzes. The GRIZZLY - allows us to easily adjust to different offensive formations and schemes. Every position in the GRIZZLY - has a specific task and responsibility that is unique to that position. Each of the eleven different positions allow the players to use their talents to excel at that particular position and concentrate on the sole responsibility of their position. We will be fundamentally sound in every technique and skill that we perform on the field. TEAM tackling and relentless TEAM pursuit will be emphasized every day of practice and will be our trademark. We want to run to the football and be in a bad mood when we get there. Our defensive objective on every play is to MAKE A TAKE and SCORE! THE GRIZZLY - It s an Attitude! The RAIDER FORCE Special Teams Because our uniforms resemble those worn by the Oakland Raiders, we have decided to call our Special Teams players the RAIDER FORCE. To become a member of the RAIDER FORCE, one must possess an intense desire to do whatever is needed for the good of the TEAM. This quality is known to us as the Raider Spirit. Kickoff Kickoff Return PAT-FG R - Relentless A - Aggressive I - Intense D - Disciplined E - Enthusiastic R - Reckless RAIDER FORCE - It s an Attitude! Punt Punt Return PAT-FG D
