Tournament Setup: Sooner Classic is Double Elimination (2 Game Guarantee). Playing Rules: Oklahoma Secondary School Rules, along with Indian Nations Football Conference Preferences. 2 PROPER CONDUCT POLICY We have a very high standard of conduct at the Sooner Classic. The fact that you have been accepted to attend the Sooner Classic says that we feel you area quality person, who will maintain a team that will be a role model for quality teams everywhere. Your conduct on the field, in the hotels and around the City of Tulsa will ensure that your team will be welcomed back to the Sooner Classic for many years to come. We must clearly define what we are looking for as Proper Conduct. We will not tolerate intimidation of any form, either on the field or off. Trash talking or similar actions connected with your team will lead to penalties. Game officials are instructed to remove players from the game for 2 plays on a FIRST TIME OFFENSE for any form of physical or verbal intimidation and a 15 yard penalty will be marked off. Upon a SECOND TIME OFFENSE the player will be ejected from the game...no DEBATE...NO APPEALS...FINAL. You as Head Coach must also control your parents; they must know their actions in the stands will have an effect on their football team. If there is any single incident involving the parents/fans of your team, the Sooner Classic Marshall has the authority to stop the play of the game and your team will forfeit the game. This could cause not only the loss of a championship, but also future trips to the Sooner Classic. You as Head Coach must also conduct yourself on and off the field. If you have a problem with a game official, conduct yourself properly; you wouldn t want your team to finish the tournament without you. NOTE: The Head Coach or the Assistant Coach must be present at the weigh-in. Please have your players line up the same order as the roster has been prepared in (oldest to youngest). 3 ACCEPTANCE OF RESPONSIBILITY I, as the Head Coach or Trip Manager of the youth football organization participating at the 2013 Sooner Classic Championships under the name from the City of and the State of do hereby accept full legal responsibility for participation by all minors involved with this youth football team in attendance at or their transportation to, during and from the Sooner Classic Championships. Our team has been advised by Union Youth Football Association (UYFA) to obtain individual permission forms giving each minor permission to travel with the team to the Sooner Classic Championships, as well as making each minor s parent legally responsible for actions that their child may undertake during the Sooner Classic Championships. This Sooner Classic Championships Acceptance of Responsibility holds harmless UYFA to include but not limited to: accidents, illnesses or injuries to any member of this team, its cheerleaders, coaches, parents or other adults or children associated in any manner with this football organization during this time period, including the required travel to, during and from the Sooner Classic Championships. Also, if our team elects to stay at local hotels/motels, I the undersigned, also accept full responsibility on behalf of my organization for payment of services and/or any damages caused by any member of our group. Also, I agree that I will make all reasonable efforts to assist UYFA in any means needed. I, the undersigned, do hereby further state that all team members and team followers attending the Sooner Classic Championships with our team have been made aware of the risks and inherent dangers that attending or playing in any youth contact sport may incur. Through their attendance, all team members or followers agree to accept these risks and dangers and agree to hold harmless the UYFA, the UYFA officers, the Sooner Classic Championships committee members and Sooner Classic Championships volunteers, the Union school district as a entity (board, playing fields, etc.), all city, state and county facilities and/or agents and all other facilities in use by the Sooner Classic Championships. As the official representative of our team, I agree to hold harmless any and all of these organizations for any injuries or lost items sustained by any member of our entire group, either participating or not participating in the Sooner Classic Championships. 5 CHECK-IN PROCEDURE Check-in runs from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, Friday evening, November 15th at the Union Intermediate High School (I-High) located at 7616 South Garnett Road, Tulsa, Oklahoma. The following information will assist your team in getting checked-in quickly and off to dinner. 1. Your Team Must Line Up in The Exact Order Listed on the Roster You Have Been Given (Oldest to Youngest). 2. You Must Have Your Copies of the Player Registration Form in This Exact Same Order as Your Roster. (No Player Form = Player Does Not Play) 3. You Must Keep Players Under Control and Reasonably Quiet At All Times During Check-in. Check In Dinner for Extra Guests Attending the Sooner Classic Championships. Dinner for extra guests traveling with the team can be purchased at the door during the sign-up period for $4.00 per Adult, $3.00 per Child. PLAYER T-SHIRT FORM Please supply the T-shirt sizes for each player. They will be given as a gift for the participation in the Sooner Classic Championships. There will be additional t-shirts for sale during the Sooner Classic Championships for Coaches, Parents and Fans. 7 PLAYER ATHLETIC WAIVER & RELEASE OF LIABILITY In consideration of my child s participations in the UYFA 2013 Sooner Classic Championships, Union Public Schools practice/game facilities and related events. 1. I (we) acknowledge and fully understand that my child will be engaging in activities that involve risk of injury, and losses which might result not only from their own actions, inactions or negligence but the actions, inactions or negligence of others, the rules of play, or the condition of the premises or any equipment used. Further, that there may be other risks not known to us or not reasonably foreseeable at this time. 2. I (we) Release, waive, discharge and covenant not to sue UYFA, the UYFA officers, the Sooner Classic Championships committee members and the Sooner Classic Championships volunteers, the Union school district as a entity (board, playing fields, etc.), all city, state and county facilities and/or agents and all other facilities in use by the Sooner Classic. As the parent or legal guardian of (player), I agree to hold harmless any and all of these organizations for any injuries or lost items sustained by my child. 3. I (we) being permitted to enter premises for any purpose ( herein defined as the areas to which admission by general public spectators is prohibited and in the addition, any other area which the participant chooses to access by an mode of transportation), or being permitted to compete, officiate, observe, work for, or for any purposes participate in any way in the event, the Sooner Classic Championships, for himself/herself, his/her personal representatives, heirs, next of kin, acknowledges and hereby agrees to the releases and each of them from any loss, liability or damage, or cost they may incur. 9 One Stripers: Offense: 1. May play end but is not an eligible receiver and cannot advance the ball in any manner at any time. 2. Not allowed to line up in the backfield except to place kick extra points or field goals. Must be a declared kick, a fumble or fake will be declared a dead ball. 3. May place kick but cannot punt. One Stripers: Defense: 1. May play any position. 2. Not eligible to return a kick off or punt. 3. Allowed to return an interception or fumble. Two Stripers: 1. Cannot have more than 3 two striped players on the field of play at any one time. 2. Can only be a lineman in a down position, 3 or 4-pointstance. 3. Cannot be on the kick off or kick return team. Two Stripers: Offense: 1. Must play on the interior offensive line and may never be in a position to be eligible for a pass. Note: On an unbalanced line, the tackle becomes an end if uncovered making him illegal. 2. Will be allowed in the backfield to kick extra points or field goal only. The kick must be declared, a fumble or fake will be declared a dead ball. Two Stripers: Defense: 1. Must play on the defensive line and will not line up any wider than head-up with the tight end s normal position whether a tight end is lined up on that side or not. 2. Will be allowed to return a fumble or pass interception. LENGTH OF GAME & SCORING RULES: Games will consist of four (4) quarters. Each quarter will last eight (8) minutes with an eight (8) minute halftime break. A touchdown is worth 6 points, an extra point (run or pass is = 1 point, kick is = 2 points). All ages will have center protected on punts, field goals and extra points. Defense can t make contact with the center until such time as the ball touches the kicker, offensive player or the ground.
