Kristi Toliver's 3-pointer capped a 9-4 start for the Sparks, but Minnesota rallied in front after one quarter and Moore triggered a 9-0 spurt that pushed the lead to seven early in the second. Sylvia Fowles' last-second putback sent the Lynx into halftime holding a edge, which grew to 10 on a Moore steal and layup at the 8:14 mark of the third. Back-to-back treys from Chelsea Gray and Toliver narrowed the gap to in the final minute of the period, and L.A. finally caught the Lynx when Candace Parker made it with 6:01 left. Whalen responded with the next two baskets and Minnesota used jumpers from Seimone Augustus and Rebekkah Brunson to remain ahead before Brunson and Moore secured the win with free throws in the waning seconds. Whalen had 13 points and Fowles collected 10 points and 13 rebounds for Minnesota, while Gray led the Sparks with 20 points and Toliver and Parker added 15 and 14, respectively.
