GAMES PLAYED/GAMES STARTED: 144/0 (PLAYOFFS: 4/0) PRO: A powerful right-footed kicker in his ninth NFL campaign, Ryan Succop joined the Titans prior to the start of the 2014 regular season. Succop arrived in Tennessee after five seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he posted four 100-plus point seasons and connected on 81 percent of his field goal attempts. In his first three seasons ( ) with the Titans, the University of South Carolina product made good on 88.7 percent of his field goals. His percentage increased every year during that period, including a 91.7 percent success rate in 2016 that qualified as the third-highest in franchise history. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: Set an NFL record by connecting on 56 consecutive successful field goals from inside 50 yards ( ). In 2016, Succop s 91.7 percent field goal rate (22 of 24) was the best single-season performance of his career and the third-best percentage in franchise history (92.3 by Rob Bironas in 2010 and 92.3 by Al Del Greco in 1998). Succop s percentage ranked third in the NFL in 2016 behind only Justin Tucker (97.4) and Matt Bryant (91.9). Succop finished the 2016 season with a franchise-record streak of 36 successful field goals from inside 50 yards, dating back to At Kansas City on Dec. 18, 2016, he became the first kicker in NFL history to defeat his former team by converting a game-winning, comefrom-behind field goal of 50 or more yards (53) as time expired. It tied for the second-longest game-winning field goal in franchise history. In 2015, Succop set a then-career-best by connecting on 87.5 percent of his kicks (14 of 16 field goals) and recording 43 touchbacks, the secondmost of his career. In 2014, Succop played in all 16 games in his first season with the Titans and connected on a then career-high 86.4 percent of his field goals. He converted 19 of 22 field goals and all 27 extra point attempts for 84 points. Succop has appeared in two postseason contests, making all three field goals attempted and all six extra points for 15 points. In 2013, posted 118 points, setting a new single-season career-high for points, passing his old mark of 104 set in his rookie season in Set a Chiefs franchise record for most points in a postseason game, accounting for 14 points in the Chiefs 2013 AFC Wild Card Game at Indianapolis (1/4/14). In 2009, Succop converted 86.2 percent of his field goals (25 of 29), tying as the highest make percentage by a rookie since the AFL-NFL merger (min. 20 attempts). He also led all NFL rookies with 104 points. Succop was named All-Rookie from Pro Football Weekly/PFWA and was voted the Chiefs 2009 Mack Lee Hill Award winner by his peers for his rookie success. Succop set a career high and a Chiefs franchise single-game record by converting all six field goals he attempted at New Orleans (9/23/12). TITANS TIDBITS: Succop was given the title Mr. Irrelevant after being selected with the final pick (256th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft. Succop caddied for his friend, Wesley Bryan, at the 2016 Nashville Golf Open, a Web.com event at Nashville Golf & Athletic Club. Succop and Bryan went to school together at the University of South Carolina, Succop registered 104 career goals and was a four-time all-conference and two-time all-state soccer selection at Hickory (N.C.) High School. Succop handled both the kicking and punting duties during his sophomore and junior seasons at South Carolina. CAREER TRANSACTIONS: The Hickory, N.C., native was originally selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the seventh round (256th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft. Released by the Chiefs on Aug. 30, Signed by the Titans as a free agent on Sept. 2, SEASON RECAPS: 2017 (16/0, 2/0 - Tennessee): Saw action in all 16 games and collected a career-high 136 points and a career-best 35 field goals. The 136 points ties for the most in franchise history. The 35 field goals is the second-highest number of field goals in franchise history in a single season. Posted 43 touchbacks on kickoffs. Played in his 100th career regular season game against Buffalo (10/11/15). Connected on his 200th career extra point against Miami (10/18/15). Against Indianapolis (9/27), nailed both field goals (38, 21) and all three extra point chances. Booted six touchbacks on seven kickoffs, with the only other kickoff being a failed onside try. Also converted a career-long 54-yard field goal, tied a Chiefs record with five made field goals and became the third Chiefs kicker to convert two 50-plus-yard field goals in one game. COLLEGE: Played in 50 games at South Carolina, hitting 49 of 69 field goals (71.0 percent) with a career long of 55 yards. Converted 104 of 106 PATs and racked up a total of 251 points, the second-highest total in school history. Spent his sophomore and junior seasons handling both the kicking and punting duties. Had 85 punts for 3,597 yards (42.3 gross, 34.9 net) with 21 kicks inside the 20 and three touchbacks. Had 69 touchbacks on 192 kickoffs. Played in 13 games his senior campaign in 2008, earning honorable mention All-Southeastern Conference honors. Connected on 20 of 30 field goals, leading the SEC in both makes and attempts. Converted all 30 of his PATs for 90 points. Had 25 touchbacks on kickoffs. Finished the season fourth in the SEC in field goal percentage (66.7 percent) and ninth in scoring (6.9 ppg).
