2 Tryout and Roster Info ( Teams) At the conclusion of tryouts, selected players will be offered a spot in the Penguins Select Lacrosse program. Players will compete in 2-3 Fall tournaments and all practices with balanced rosters comprised of all players in a given age group. Top players will be offered a spot in the Winter Box Lacrosse program ( ) as well, and players who are not selected for the Winter Box Lacrosse program, or those players who are not able to make the time commitment to the Winter Box program will participate in our Winter Skills program. Based on ability level demonstrated in the Fall tournaments, practices, and winter skills and/or box players will be notified of a Blue or Orange team assignment for Summer 2019 by February 1st, Team assignment is based on what our experienced coaching staff believes is the best place for the development of the athlete. Many players who could be Blue team players are better served in their development by being a top Orange team player. Team composition will also be evaluated constantly, so it is possible players can move between the two teams based on roster needs and fit. For summer practices, the first 20 minutes of each practice will be Blue and Orange teams combined for warm ups and skill development. Wednesday practices will also be combined Blue and Orange teams. The final 70 minutes of Tuesday and Thursday practices will be separate Blue and Orange team practices to review previous tournament and upcoming tournament team strategy and development. Blue and Orange teams may still participate in full field drills together during this time at the coaches discretion.

While the tournaments are fun, and a great time to showcase your abilities, the real work comes in practice with the nation s best instructors to become the best player you can be. It doesn t matter if you are a 2nd or 3rd grader ready to take lacrosse more seriously, or a Division 1 scholarship prospect it all starts with sound fundamentals! 2. Full time, dedicated Penguins staff ensures that we are the most ORGANIZED, PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM in existence. Our staff does not fit in Penguins work around other jobs and commitments, we are completely dedicated to giving your son the best possible lacrosse experience. Whether you are enjoying your first select lacrosse experience or fully engaged in the college recruiting process, we are totally dedicated to helping you reach your lacrosse goals, whatever they may be. We are eight FULL TIME lacrosse professionals in the office every day spending our time making the Penguins among the nation s top select lacrosse programs. 3. We educate the total student athlete. From our team camp to our weekly practices, we emphasize not only the lacrosse aspect, but everything it takes to succeed as a lacrosse player; leadership, character, and the importance of being a STUDENT athlete. 4. We are invested in TODAY s game. The game is changing every day. What it takes to be successful in today s high school and NCAA lacrosse is DRAMATICALLY different than the game was years ago. Not only are we current NCAA and High School Varsity and Sub-Varsity Coaches, but we are RECENT NCAA conference Coaches of the Year, NCAA All Americans, Academic All Americans, NCAA All Conference players and CURRENT members of NCAA All-American Selection Committees and NCAA Regional ranking committees. We know what it takes to help players develop the tools they need to succeed TODAY s game. 5. We realize the enormous importance of playing MULTIPLE SPORTS. The vast majority of our student-athletes are two-sport (or More!) athletes, and we schedule practices and tournaments accordingly. Additionally, the Penguins purposely do NOT play extensive games in the Spring beyond our Spring play day, purposefully allowing players to represent their towns and their schools across New England

4 The Penguins Mission At the core of all of our Penguins Select Lacrosse Club lacrosse teams is the relentless focus on player development. These fundamentals are at the cornerstone of our Select lacrosse programs at all levels, and we work tirelessly to ensure that all players coming through these programs truly understand the game of lacrosse and the commitment that it takes to play at the game s highest levels. First and foremost, we believe that lacrosse should be fun! We spend countless hours on these fundamentals in practice so that come tournament time our players can have a positive experience and compete with North America s best lacrosse programs. We pride ourselves building young men of character in a team-first, family environment, teaching players to succeed beyond the lacrosse field, and with coaches displaying an infectious passion for the game of lacrosse.

6 Equipment Package New Player Equipment Package All participants in years of graduation will be required to make a one-time purchase of a Penguins team helmet and bag that is offered at our cost to Penguins families. Penguins participants at other ages have the option to purchase the package as well! The most important difference in our club is the team environment that we cultivate -- players know their teammates, players know their coaches, and as a result we felt as though it was critical that participants feel like a part of the Penguins organization year round. In fact, the majority of our teams stay together with their assigned coaches from the start of their Penguins career through the end of their high school career. We have found in surveying existing Penguins and their families that this was an important step in the value that we place on team over individual lacrosse. Families will incur a one time fee of $199 once in their Penguins career for a team helmet and bag as seen to the left, and will have the option to purchase again if they wish if there is a size/wear issue later in the Penguins career!

7 Winter Box Lacrosse Penguins Select Lacrosse is pleased to partner with the US Box Lacrosse association, the nation s premier sanctioning organization for REAL Box Lacrosse and afford our players and coaches training and tools to support our Winter box lacrosse season training and competition. Why should you play USBOXLA sanctioned box lacrosse? As everyone has seen both on a national and collegiate level, players with a box lacrosse background have a clear advantage over field lacrosse players who have never played indoors. Box lacrosse forces players to: Make quick decisions under pressure Shoot and pass more accurately Improve their footwork and overall speed Maneuver with and without the ball in traffic Develop both offensive and defensive skills Generate optimal scoring opportunities Play an effective multi-man game (i.e. picks) Become smarter and more physical Constantly be engaged due to far fewer game stoppages Generate space away from the play Be more creative while generating offensive opportunities with and without the ball

Earliest start time 5:00 PM, latest end time 8:00 PM all located at Babson College, Wellesley, MA 1 Play-Day Includes: Tournament fees, custom reversible jersey, shorts, shooting shirt, and team apparel item Fall, Winter Skills and Summer = $1550* *Our curriculum is based on participation in Fall, Winter, and Summer seasons.
