3 Yeovil Netball Club In Brief About YNC YNC is a friendly and progressive club that wants to get the best out of everyone, no matter their ability. It s age range starts at U11 s through to, I don t like to say!!. All welcome to come and enjoy the game. We are now an England Netball Silver Caps Accredited Netball Club! Message from the Senior Chairperson I have been involved with Yeovil Netball club for many years, too many some might say. In that time I have seen the club grow, being welcoming and enthusiastic to all its members. I hope you enjoy the coming season and you reach your personal goals together with the club. 5 Teams We have five teams within the Somerset County League. Team Babylon Newton Wyndham Hendford Reckleford League Premier Division Premier Division Division 1 Division 2 Division 2 Training and Matches The senior club trains every Wednesday 7-9pm at Westfield Academy, Stiby Road, Yeovil. Approximately 50 ladies train each week, including the u16 age group. Training sessions are lead by head coach, Sam Newton. She varies her training from skills and match play to fitness and strength & conditioning. Matches are played on Saturdays at Westfield Academy, with indoor matches played at Oxley Sports Centre, Sherborne (mainly Babylon & Newton). All teams play in the same YNC Kukri Kit. In the event of very bad weather communications will be sent out via Teamer.net, coaches/captains and the website. Kit YNC s kit is a range of Kukri Kit. Our club colours are Bottle Green, Navy and White. All players must provide their own kit for matches. All players play in a Bottle Green, Navy & White Kukri dress, with navy hot pants underneath and if needed a navy skin under garment. Players can optionally purchase other YNC kit including, Kukri tracksuit bottoms & top, sweatpants, gilets and YNC Navy hoodies which can be purchased from Banana Moon. 6 If you would like to order kit from Kukri, the club has an order form, which needs to be given to Lesley How. Hoodies from Banana Moon can be purchased via this link. The shop will open on 14 th August to purchase hoodies. Most of our umpires have a white umpiring hoodie. Fees Affiliation Fees: 42 for Seniors goes to England Netball for affiliation and rest goes to the Club. Training Fees: Senior squad training fees are 16 per month, payable from September to February inclusive. This can either be paid via standing order, cheque or cash. Match Fees: Every player will pay to play. The fee each Saturday will be dependent on how many quarters they play. If a team plays at Oxley Sports Centre inside, the fee for a whole game will be 5 and any game played at Westfield Academy outside, the fee for a whole game will be 4. Junior Club Message from the Junior Chairperson As well as a strong senior netball club, Yeovil Netball Club also has a thriving junior section. Girls from the age of 11 to 16 are trained by enthusiastic coaches to develop their skills in passing, defending and attacking. Training on a weekly basis, their ability develops quickly and gets put into practice in county tournaments once a month. Yeovil Junior Netball Club offers girls the chance to play, learn and socialise in the sport they enjoy. The girls play competitively within the Junior Somerset League at monthly tournaments. All tournaments take place at The Blue School, Wells unless otherwise stated. The u14s and u16s play in the same style Kukri dresses as the seniors. The younger age groups play in green tops and skirts. All age groups use patches for bibs. 9 Similarly to the seniors, the junior girls will be able to purchase Navy YNC hoodies from the Banana Moon link. The shop will open on 14 th August to purchase hoodies. Fees All fees are payable to the club in order to cover court costs, player insurance and affiliation with All England Netball, umpiring etc. Affiliation Training 12 per month (payable a month in advance) Tournament Fees 3 Media & Further Information Website & Social Media YNC have a successfully run website, Facebook page and Twitter account. All are regularly updated with useful information for the club. All three update members such things as match results, fixtures, important documents and is used as a helpful communication tool. New to this season, we, as a club, are going to trial a new website software called Teamer.net. It will hopefully help with people management and communication. Teams within the UK and the world use it so hopefully it will be a success for YNC. To explore the software either look on their website or wait until added at the start of the season. 11 County & Netball Development Officer The county holds bi-monthly executive meetings where each club can air their views on a variety of issues. Our representative is Nikki Raison. She or someone in her absence will attend each meeting, bringing to the meeting issues/suggestions from the club. She will also take notes and relay back to the committee and the next meeting.
