1 As of May 22, 2017 This file is broken into three sections to honor great performances by players and coaches. Section one is the listing of the 1993 Milwaukee Journal Team of the Century plus those who received high honorable mention. The second section lists all of the Wiosconsin football players who have received first team All-America mention. In a future editon I will update the All-America list to include those who received honorable mention status. The third part lists the single season statistical game-by-game leaders. The Great Players- Honoring the States Finest Performers In 1993 The Milwaukee Journal printed a fantastic article in which The Team Of The Century was named. Writer Cliff Christl authored a masterful story as he sent out 300 ballots to coaches, players and writers around the state for them to pick an all-time team. Printed on the 100th Anniversery of the Milwaukee City Conference keeping records. Some schools from around the state began informal play in the late 1880's, starting with Delafield St. John's Military Academy in Christl and the balloting provided tremendous insight into Wisconsin s great high school football trafition. Printed below are the members of the first and second team along with those receiving honorable mention. A special thanks goes out to Cliff for his help in supplying additional information.
