1 KANSAS CITY PREMIERE MAYB TOURNAMENT RULES Each team is required to provide an ADULT score person. Only one person per team at the score table. Team statisticians must sit on the team bench and not at the score table The team listed first on the schedule or on top of bracket is considered the HOME team Home team will wear light colored jerseys, provide game ball, and keep the score clock. No game will start before the scheduled time unless both coaches agree. No game will start more than 5 minutes early unless special permission is granted by Event Director. There will be a minimum of 5 minutes warm-up period. Halftime will be 2 minutes long. The NFHS Rules & Regulations will apply with the following exceptions listed: Length of Games: High School Games will consist of two 16 minute halves Grades 7-8 will consist of two 14 min. halves & boys will use the regulation size ball Grades 3-6 will consist of two 14 min. halves & boys will use 28.5 intermediate ball Mercy Rule: The clock will stop for all whistle stoppages, with the following exception: Once a team is leading by 15+ points in the second half, the clock will continue to run. The only time the clock will stop is for injuries, during technical fouls and for time outs. If the lead falls below a 15 point margin, the clock will be stopped on all whistles again. Pressing: Teams may not press if they lead by 15 points or more, trapping discouraged. Timeouts: Each team will be allocated four full timeouts per game Overtime: 2 minutes regulation (stop) clock and one additional full timeout awarded Tie-Breakers: (Note: a forfeit is scored as a 15-0 game) Two teams tied: head-to-head result will break the tie Three or more teams tied: point differential in all games (maximum of +15 or -15 points) If a tie remains, teams will be seeded according to defensive points allowed in all games Sportsmanship: Two direct technical fouls during a game on a player, coach, or team representative will result in their disqualification for their next game of that tournament. Fighting and / or gross unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated and may result in more than the one game suspension at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director
2 KC PREMIERE MAYB TOURNAMENT INFORMATION November 15th-16th, *Game results will be posted on throughout the tournament Tournament Directors: Kristen Davis (913) Chad Jones Hicks (573) ALL COACHES MUST CHECK IN & CONFIRM ROSTER 1 HOUR BEFORE FIRST GAME UNLESS YOU ARE THE FIRST GAME OF THE DAY, THEN ONLY 30 MINUTES PRIOR ADMISSION: Two coaches per team will be admitted free of charge as long as they have coach s pass. Adults and Seniors: $6 daily / $10 weekend pass, no charge for anyone under 18 years old. A coach s wristband, pass, or ticket must be presented upon each entry to the game location. CONCESSIONS: PLEASE MAKE SURE THE PARENTS ARE AWARE OF POLICY: Concessions will be sold at both SM North and SMNW HS as a fundraiser for their teams SCOREKEEPING: Please fill out score sheet (attached or found on score tables) completely before game Each team needs to provide an ADULT score person who should report to the score table IMMEDIATELY following the preceding game, only ONE person per team at score table MISCELLANEOUS: If you are playing the first game of the day WE ARE NOT ALLOWED to let anyone in the building until 30 minutes prior to the game time, the following is a list of first game times: Saturday SMN: 8:30am (Please do not arrive before to 8:00am, thank you.) SMS: 5:30pm (Please do not arrive before 5:00pm, thank you.) Sunday SMN: 8:30am (Please do not arrive before 8:00am, thank you.) SMNW: 8:30am (Please do not arrive before 8:00am, thank you.) ALWAYS check brackets posted on wall throughout tournament in case there are any changes GAME LOCATIONS: SM North (SMN) is located at 7401 Johnson Drive, Shawnee Mission, KS SM Northwest High School (SMNW) is located at W. 67 th St, Shawnee Mission, KS SM South High School (SMS) is located at 5800 W 107th St, Overland Park, KS HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS: The Courtyard - Convention Center is the official host hotel for all KC Premiere Basketball events. They are offering special rate of only $74 per night (doesn t include breakfast but still a great deal!)
