3 basketball development center 2008 graduates Lance Stemler & D.J. White help break ground for the new facility. the new basketball development center, located in close proximity to Assembly Hall, will serve as the daily headquarters for the men s and women s basketball programs, providing them with a state-of-the-art venue in which to practice, train and condition. The 67,000-squarefoot, multilevel facility features practice courts, locker rooms, coaches offices and meeting/video rooms. HOK Sport of Kansas City, assisted by Moody-Nolan of Indianapolis, will construct the Center which will place IU at the forefront of collegiate basketball facilities /09 INDIANA basketball

5 north end zone facility The north end zone of memorial stadium will become the site of a signature, 100,000-square-foot facility that will address several critical needs for IU Athletics providing student athletes in every varsity sport with access to essential weight training and cardio equipment. and our student athletes. > Leading the architectural > At the heart of the new structure will be a 24,000-squarefoot strength and conditioning center, located at field level, planning and design of the facility is Ratio Architects of Indianapolis, assisted by Moody- Nolan, also of Indianapolis. 6 north end zone facility TWO Important features OF THE NORTH ENDZONE FACILITY > North End Zone facility highlights Home of the IU hall of champions seating bowl, including outdoor club seating New state-of-the-art Academic resource Center football meeting and team rooms banquet room available for special events balcony with stunning view of campus and facilities > have been designed specifically to enhance the fan experience. > First, it will become the home of the IU Hall of Champions, a space featuring museum-quality displays and a large banquet area where Hoosier fans can gather to celebrate the past, present and future of IU Athletics. > Second, a new seating bowl, including an outdoor club seating area, will enclose the north end of the stadium. The resulting horseshoe layout will connect the East and West stands and will enhance the gameday atmosphere on football Saturdays. 14 hoosiers in the nba HOOSIERS IN THE NBA Indiana has seen 20 players selected in the first round of the NBA Draft and more than 50 former Hoosiers have gone on to play in the NBA. Isiah Thomas (second from left) led the Detroit Pistons to two NBA titles and was voted one of the top 50 players in NBA history. He is a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame. 15 media coverage As a Member of the big ten conference, Indiana receives some of the best exposure in the country. Each week, Big Ten basketball is televised by CBS, ESPN, ESPN2 and the Big Ten Network. All of IU s 31 regular season games will be televised nationally /09 INDIANA basketball

16 media coverage in addition to television coverage, all Hoosiers games can be heard over the Internet and on the IU Radio Network. The Network is currently comprised of nearly 50 stations throughout Indiana. Also, local television and newspapers cover the Hoosiers regularly, with dozens of publications and stations bringing Hoosier fans the latest news on their basketball team. 08/09 INDIANA basketball 31
