1 CONSENSUS ALL-AMERICAN McDERMOTT OF CREIGHTON AND MARQUETTE DUO HIGHLIGHT THE NATIONAL JESUIT MEN S BASKETBALL TEAM April 16, 2012 Doug McDermott, Creighton s first Associated Press First-Team All-American, and Marquette s prolific Jae Crowder and Darius Johnson-Odom highlight the National All-Jesuit Men s Basketball Team, as announced today by the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities and the Jesuit Basketball Spotlight. McDermott (So., F, 6-7), the Wooden Award finalist and Missouri Valley Player of the Year, and Johnson-Odom (Sr., G, 6-2), a first-team All-Big East selection, earn All-Jesuit honors for the second straight year, and are joined by Crowder (Sr., F, 6-6), the Big East Player of the Year who makes his first appearance on the team, and two other players, Tu Holloway (Xavier, Sr., G, 6-0) and Elias Harris (Gonzaga, Jr., F, 6-7), who previously have earned All-Jesuit honors. The five aforementioned players are joined on the All-Jesuit team by Steve Catich (Sr., F, 6-5) who led Wheeling Jesuit to the NCAA Division II Tournament; Jason Clark (Sr., G, 6-2), Georgetown s leader as it remained among the top teams in D1; Ray McCallum (Detroit, So., G, 6-2), who guided the Titans to the Horizon League tourney title; Rakim Sanders (R -Sr., F, 6-5) who led Fairfield to the CIT Postseason tourney semifinals; and Corey Shontz (John Carroll, Sr., G, 6-1), an NCAA Division III All-America honoree. All 10 players earned first-team all-conference honors. In fact, all eight of the players who received honorable-mention status also received first-team all-conference accolades. The All-Jesuit Team represents student-athletes from the 28 Jesuit colleges spread across the United States that play basketball on all three levels of the NCAA and also in the NAIA. They share the mission of Jesuit education, founded nearly 500 years ago under the principles of St. Ignatius Loyola to educate young people to become men and women dedicated to service and compassionate leadership. 2 NATIONAL ALL-JESUIT MEN S BASKETBALL TEAM Steve Catich Wheeling Jesuit (Sr., F, 6-5, Tyrone, PA) Earned a spot on the Daktronics Division II All-Atlantic Region team. Named to the All -WVIAC first team. Led the Cardinals to the NCAA Division II Tournament where they picked up the school s first-ever win in the first round. Placed 17 th in the nation in Division II in scoring with his 20.7 average, the second highest average among all players on the 28 Jesuit teams. Reached at least 25 points nine times, with four games of 30+ points. Shot 57.7% from the field, placing him in the top 30 in the nation in that category. Earned a spot on the National Jesuit Honor Roll six times. J Jason Clark Georgetown (Sr., G, 6-2, Arlington, VA) Named to the USBWA All-District 2 team. Earned a spot on the NABC All-District 2 second team. Honored as an All-Big East first-team selection after being a major reason for the Hoyas Top 20 ranking for most of the season. Awarded the Big East Sportsmanship Award by the league s coaches. Reached 20 or more points in six games with a high of 31 in a win over DePaul. Led the team in scoring (14.0)and steals (1.6), and was in the top three in assists, three-point field goals made, field-goal percentage, and free-throw percentage. Named National Jesuit Player of the Week once (shared, November 21-27) and made the Jesuit Honor Roll twice. Jae Crowder Marquette (Sr., F, 6-6, Villa Rica, GA) Named to the Associated Press All-America second team. Selected by The Sporting News to its All-America Second Team. Earned spots on the USBWA All-District 5 team and the NABC Coaches All-America Third Team. Picked as one of 10 players on the John Wooden All-America team. Honored as the Big East Player of the Year after leading the Golden Eagles to second place in the conference. Named to the All-Big East first team. Scored 20 or more points 13 times, while also posting 14 doubledoubles, including five in his last six games, placing him in the top 30 in the country in that category.ranked 10 th in the nation with 2.51 steals per game. Became just the fifth Marquette player to score 1,000 points in just two seasons.honored as National Jesuit Player of the Week twice (for February and February 20-26) and made the Jesuit Honor Roll four times. Elias Harris Gonzaga (Jr., F, 6-7, Speyer, Germany) Earned a spot on the NABC All-District 9 first-team. Named to the All-West Coast Conference first team after playing a key role in another 20-win Gonzaga season. Scored 19 or more points seven times. Reached double figures in rebounding 13 times while posting 12 double-doubles. Returned to the All-Jesuit team after being named All- Jesuit as a freshman in Named the National Jesuit Player or the Week once (December 12-18) and held a spot on the National Jesuit Honor Roll five times.

3 Page 3 Tu Holloway Gonzaga (So., F, 6-0, Hempstead, NY) Named to NABC All-District 4 first team, as well as the College Sports Madness All-High Major second team. Selected to the All-Atlantic 10 first team for the second straight season after leading the Musketeers to another 20-win season. Led Xavier in scoring (17.5), assists (4.9), and free-throw percentage (.862). Scored 45 points in the Musketeers two NCAA tourney wins and had the game-winning basket in an upset of Notre Dame. Reached 20 or more points 17 times and had seven games with at least 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Posted two double-doubles, one with rebounds and one with assists. Returns to the All-Jesuit team after being named All-Jesuit in Selected as the National Jesuit Player of the Week once (shared, February 13-19) and was part of the Jesuit Honor Roll four times. Darius Johnson-Odom Marquette (Sr., G, 6-2, Raleigh, NC) Named to the NABC All-District 5 first team. Selected to the USBWA All-District 5 first team Given honorable-mention status with the Associated Press All-America team.earned a spot on the All-Big East first team after playing a major role in the Golden Eagles second-place finish in the conference. Led the Golden Eagles in scoring (18.3), surpassing 20 points 14 times. Placed in the top 40 in the nation in scoring.returns to the All-Jesuit team after earning a spot on the team. Named as the National Jesuit Player of the Week once (January 23-29) and was awarded a spot on the National Jesuit Honor Roll four times. Ray McCallum Detroit (So., G, 6-2, Beverly Hills, MI) Earned a spot on the NABC All-District 12 first team. Honored as a College- Insider.com Mid-Major All-American. Selected to the College Sports Madness All-High Major first team. Picked to the All-Horizon League first team. Scored a team-high 15.4 points per game, while leading the Titans to the Horizon League championship and their first NCAA Tournament berth since Reached double figures in scoring 31 times with 11 games of 20 or more points. Produced five games with at least 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Selected as the National Jesuit Player of the Week once (February 27-March 11) and earned a spot on the Jesuit Honor Roll four times. Doug McDermott Creighton (So., F, 6-7, Ames, IA) Honored as a selection to the Associated Press All-America First Team, the first Bluejay to ever accomplish that. Named to the John Wooden All-America team and was one of four finalists for the Naismith Trophy. Selected to the NABC Coaches All-America first team and the USBWA All-America first team. Honored as the CollegeInsider.com National Player of the Year and the College Sports Madness All-High Major player of the year. Selected to the All-MVC first team, as well as being honored as the MVC

Shot 60 percent from the field, the seventh-best mark in the country. Reached 30 points in six games with a high of 44 against Bradley. Returns to the All-Jesuit team after earning a spot on the team as a freshman. Named National Jesuit Player of the Week twice (December and January 2-8) and was a member of the Jesuit Honor Roll six times. Rakim Sanders Fairfield (R-Sr., F, 6-5, Pawtucket, RI) Selected to the NABC All-District 1 first team and the USBWA All-District 1 first team. Named to the All-MAAC first team. Led Fairfield in both scoring (16.6) and rebounding (8.2). Led the Stags to a CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament berth, which ended with a defeat in the CIT semifinals. Scored 20 or more points 12 times and led the Stags in scoring 23 times. Posted 11 double-doubles. Invited to the Portsmouth Invitational for pro prospects and averaged 19.3 points and 8.7 rebounds.
