1 Presented by Troy University Softball 2015 TOURNAMENT RULES Coaches: Attached is the full tournament packet for this weekend. At this tournament it is FREE SUBSTITUTION in POOL and BRACKET play! We want everyone to be able to participate. 1. Teams must check-in prior to their first game. You must have proof of insurance for your team. (If you have ASA/Bollinger Ins, you must have cards for each player or a certificate of team Insurance) 2. Your must have a roster. We encourage that you have the roster online and print it from there. 3. Only allow 1 cooler per team is allowed. 4. Balls You need to provide one new or like new ball (.47 core. 375 compression / optic yellow) for each game. 5. Metal Cleats are not allowed in the younger age groups (14u/16U/18U only) 6. Metal Cleats are not permitted in the cages at any time 1. USSSA rules will apply. All teams must be insured and USSSA sanctioned. Copies of birth certificates must be available for inspection. Team managers or representatives are to check in at least thirty minutes prior to the start of their first game with tournament director. 2. All bracket games will be seven innings or 75 min (Pool will be 70 minutes drop dead). Pool play games may end in a tie. An eight run rule after five innings, ten run rule after four innings and 12 runs after 3 will apply in all games. Teams must be ready to play 15 minutes prior to game time. 3. Umpires will allow pitchers five pitches or 1 minutes between innings (whichever is less). Teams should hustle on and off the field to ensure pitcher/catcher warm-ups. Remember college coaches look for players who hustle! ALL DUG OUTS ARE TO BE PICKED UP & CLEANED AFTER YOUR GAME. It is imperative that any post-game team meetings not take place until the dugout is cleared and cleaned, and the field is vacated. Likewise, teams should be ready to occupy the dugout and be prepared to start play. 4. Home team will be official scorekeeper. Home team will be decided by coin toss. Protest fee is $100 and is refundable only if the protest is upheld by the Umpire In Charge or Tournament Director. 5. Tournament directors reserve the right to re-schedule games or delay start times of games if conditions warrant. In the event of a Rain-Out, the flip of a coin will determine the winners of the games if the conditions are deemed unplayable. 6. Gate Fees will be $10 per day for ages 10 & up, $15 for a weekend pass. Players and up to 3 coaches are free. Please your 3 coaches names to kalawrence@troy.edu. She will be compiling the list for the front gate. ONLY 3! 7. The Elimination bracket will be pre-drawn by committee.
