Section 1: Playing Rules 1. Each conference school must play 90% of conference games to qualify for postseason play. All teams must be committed to play the entire conference schedule. 2. League games must be completed by May 3, Conference games need to be played on scheduled dates set by scheduling committee. Exception: For those teams that have their school-scheduled spring breaks at the same time as scheduled conference games, the scheduling committee will work with those schools on auxiliary dates. 4. Starting times will be mutually agreed upon by the participating coaches. 5. All doubleheaders will be one 7-inning game, followed by one 9-inning game. The 9-inning game becomes the 7-inning game if the first game goes extra innings. 6. In a regularly scheduled doubleheader, the host team will be home team in both games and incur all the expenses. 7. The ten-run shall apply after 7 innings in a 9-inning game. 8. The NAIA Baseball Coaches Handbook will be used to cover any situation or procedure not covered above. 9. If a player or coach is ejected from a game, that individual must sit out the proper number of games based on the NAIA Baseball Misconduct Penalty Guide. Statistics 1. The computing of statistics and standings will be handled by the conference sports information director. 2. Conference coaches are responsible to report game results immediately following a contest and to report team statistics 24 hours from completion of game. 3. All regular-season games are to be used in the compiling of statistics. 4. The conference SID will mail each school SID a packet of information before the season. It is the SID s responsibility to send the necessary information back to him. 5. Any member of the conference not reporting to the conference SID will be warned once with the second time resulting in players not being allowed to be nominated for all-conference consideration. 6 P a g e

Section 2: Equipment Rawlings NAIA baseballs are to be used for all CCAC games. Section 3: Officials Fees 1. Fees for the 2017 season are as follows: a. One 9-inning game: $ per umpire. b. Designated rain dates are scheduled into the season with Wednesday/Thursday being the rain dates for mid-week games and Mondays for weekend games. Games are to be rescheduled immediately 7 P a g e

and must be put on the conference master schedule within 48 hours of a cancellation. 2. The proper sequence for the scheduling of rain dates will be as follows: a. Schedule rain dates in the same order as cancellations happen. b. Use rain dates before doubling up if they are available. c. CCAC games are a priority to reschedule. Each school has a commitment to play all conference games. 3. Standard NAIA rules (NCAA rulebook) shall govern rainouts and what constitutes a regulation game. Any game not officially completed will be considered a halted game. The participating coaches are responsible for the completion of the halted game. a. A game called because of darkness will be considered a regulation game if the necessary amount of innings have been played. b. Official games can end in a tie. Section 5: Post Season Format Selection of CCAC Regular-Season Champion 1. Teams must have played at least 90% of conferences games to qualify. If the conference does not have eight teams with 90% of conference games completed, the remainder of the tournament field will be selected by conference win percentage. 2. For conference purposes, teams that tie for the regular-season title will be declared co-champions. The highest-seeded team will be declared the regular-season champion for NAIA National Tournament bid purposes only. 3. In the event of a tie (a ½ game difference in CCAC won/loss record will be considered a tie), the following methods shall be used to break the tie and in the following order: TWO-TEAM TIE Two teams are considered to be tied when owning an identical conference record. Two teams are also considered to be tied in instances where there is a one-half game difference between the two teams due to playing an unbalanced number of conference contests. For example, teams finishing the year with conference records of 19-1 and 19-2 would be considered tied. A half-game difference equating to a tie is only considered in determining if two or more teams are initially tied or grouped as part of the tie-breaking procedure listed in 2(a) below. It is not used when breaking the tie between teams as outlined in 2(b) below. The following procedures (1-4), in the following order, will be used to break a tie between two teams: 8 P a g e

1. Results of head-to-head competition in regular-season conference games between the two teams. 2. Results of each team's record versus the team occupying the highest position in the final CCAC regular season standings continuing down through the standings until one team gains an advantage. a. When arriving at another pair of tied teams while comparing records, use each team's record against the collective tied teams as a group (prior to their own tie-breaking procedures) rather than the performance against the individual tied teams. Exception: When arriving at another pair of tied teams, if the tiebreaker between those teams has already been broken earlier in the seeding process, which goes from top to bottom, the record against the highest seed is employed first. b. When comparing records against a single team or a group of teams, the higher winning percentage shall prevail, even if the number of games played against the team or group is unequal (i.e., 2-0 is better than 3-1). In the case of tied percentages versus the team or group (i.e or.000), the following shall apply: 2-0 is better than 1-0; 0-1 is better than If these criteria can t break the tie, a one-game playoff will be played to determine the No. 1 seed for the conference tournament and the conference s first NAIA National Tournament automatic qualifier. For all other ties, a coin flip will break the tie. 4. The home team will be determined by a flip of the coin. 5. The site will be determined by the conference office in consultation with the participating schools. 6. If one team cannot play, the other team will be declared the winner. THREE-OR-MORE TEAM TIE Teams are considered to be tied when owning an identical conference record. Teams are also considered to be tied in instances where there is a one-half game difference between the teams due to playing an unbalanced number of conference contests. For example, teams finishing the year with conference records of 19-1, 19-1 and 19-2 would be considered tied. The half-game difference only applies to teams in comparison to the team with the best winning percentage among tied teams. For example, in a scenario seeding teams finishing with records of 19-1, 19-2 and 18-2, the teams with records of 19-1 and 19-2 are considered tied and enter the two-team tiebreaking procedure noted above. The team with a record of 18-2 is not a part of this tie as it is one full game behind the team with a record of Following the two-team tiebreaker between the teams with records of 19-1 and 19-2, if the team with a record of 19-2 does not win that tiebreaker, it would go back into the seeding pool and then be tied with the team that is 18-2 for the next seeding slot. Such a scenario would also have that tie broken using the two-team tiebreaker protocol reference above. 9 P a g e

Following the breaking of a tie of three-or-more teams, once the tie is broken the tiebreaking procedure listed for either a two- or three-or more team tie starts over with the procedure used based on the tied teams remaining after the initial multi-team tie is broken. The following procedures, in the following order, will be used to break ties between three-or-more teams: 1. Results of head-to-head competition (based on winning percentage) in regular-season conference games among tied teams. a. When comparing records, the higher winning percentage shall prevail, even if the number of games played against the team or group are unequal (i.e., 2-0 is better than 3-1). In the case of tied percentages versus the team or group (i.e or.000), the following shall apply: 2-0 is better than 1-0; 0-1 is better than If two-or-more teams are still tied, then each tied team's record shall be compared to the team occupying the highest position in the final regular-season standings continuing down through the standings until one team gains an advantage. a. When arriving at another pair of tied teams while comparing records, use each team's record against the collective tied teams as a group (prior to their own tie-breaking procedures) rather than the performance against the individual tied teams. Exception: When arriving at another pair of tied teams, if the tiebreaker between those teams has already been broken earlier in the seeding process, which goes from top to bottom, the record against the highest seed is employed first. b. For all other ties, a coin flip will break the tie. 4. The home team will be determined by a flip of the coin. 5. The site will be determined by the conference office in consultation with the participating schools. 6. If one team cannot play, the other team will be declared the winner. 10 P a g e

Section 5: Post Season Format Conference Tournament A. The top 8 teams in the CCAC, based on final regular season standings separate of geographic divisions, will advance to the conference tournament. B. Seeding for the conference tournament will be directly determined by final regular season standings. Conference Tournament Bracket 1. First round CCAC tournament games to be played on Wednesday. Semi-Finals on Saturday, and the Conference Tournament Final on Tuesday. TWO-TEAM TIE Tie-Breakers Two teams are considered to be tied when owning an identical conference record. The following procedures (1-4), in the following order, will be used to break a tie between two teams: 1. In the case of tied percentages versus 27 P a g e

the team or group (i.e or.000), the following shall apply: 2-0 is better than 1-0; 0-1 is better than Winning percentage versus all common non-ccac NAIA opponents. 4. Higher Massey rating. 28 P a g e

In the case of tied percentages versus the team or group (i.e or.000), the following shall apply: 2-0 is better than 1-0; 0-1 is better than Winning percentage versus all common non-ccac NAIA opponents. 4. Higher Massey rating. NAIA Postseason Qualification The first CCAC automatic bid to the NAIA Division II Basketball National Championship will be awarded to the CCAC tournament champion. The second and third CCAC automatic bids will be awarded to the CCAC regular season top seed from the North Division and the top seed from the South Division. 72 Section 1: Playing Rules Host School Host school responsibilities are noted in the NCAA Rule Book and will include the following: Meet information will be sent by the meet director, at least 8 weeks prior to the meet. The host school may use its own entry forms and technology to facilitate meet entry procedures. The NCAA Track and Field Rule Book will be followed for the championship meet. A fully automatic timing system must be used to record the finishes of all running events. Team scores must be posted at the track for inspection by coaches throughout the duration of the meet. Final results should be distributed at the conclusion of the meet. An official protest form will be distributed for use during the championships. Each participating school is encouraged to provide 2-3 volunteers to assist with the operation of the Championship Meet. Each participating team may be required to submit an entry fee as determined by the host institution to assist with expenses associated with hosting the event. Entries Each school may enter and compete five individuals in each event. Each school may enter only one team per relay event. The best meet performances for the current season for all entrants must be included on the entry. Entries without seeds may be entered but will be ranked at the bottom of the list.
