2 # 1 Range Safety Briefing: Location: Top of hill by rifle and shotgun range Staff: To be ran by shooting sports. Description: At this station Scouts will receive Range Safety Briefing for Rifle and Shotgun. The time allotted here is 30 minutes. Generator Large tent 20X40 (Troop 761 Tom Mapes) Picnic tables enough to seat 32 Scouts (at least 6 tables) (Camp Rotary) Note to Troop Leaders: Before the Scouts can shoot at the Rifle and Shotgun Range they will need to go through Range Safety training. This takes 30 minutes and the Scouts are expected to pay attention. Any Scout who miss behaves or is disruptive will be asked to leave and will not be allowed to take part in the Rifle, Shotgun activities. There will be ZERO tolerance. In order to get things started the first 2 groups of Scouts to start at the Rifle, and Shotgun ranges will have to take the Safety Training Friday night at the Rifle Range at 8:30 pm. This is a must and once again any Scout missing the training will not be allowed to shoot.

3 # 2 Target Shooting (.22 Rifles): Location: Rifle Range Staff: To be ran by shooting sports. Public Description: This will be a shot off between two patrols shooting at steel round up targets. The object is to place the targets on opposing side. The round begins with three targets on each side. Each member of the patrol gets 5 shots. Patrol members will draw a number to determine shooting order with patrol leader begin the last to shot rifles (Camp Rotary) 2 Clangers (Camp Rotary) Safety Glasses (Camp Rotary) Hearing Protection (Camp Rotary) Numbers for drawing 4 sets 1 7 (Tom Mapes) Scoring One point will be given for each target on the opposing patrol s side after all patrol members have shot. Maximum score will be 6 points.

4 #3 Shot Gun Shooting: Location: Shot Gun Range Staff: To be ran by shooting sports. Description: Scouts will get two shots at stationary clays. Senior Patrol Leader will draw target number for scout to shot at, with a point given for called target hit. If scout misses target called and hits another it will be a two point penalty. Patrol score will be total of all called clays hit by scouts. If a scout misses called clay then that number will be but back to be redrawn. 5 # 4 Hatchet Throwing: Location: Curtis camp site Staff: To be ran by shooting sports. Description: Can you hit your target? Up to 8 members of your patrol get 4 chances to hit the target. Total possible score 64.

6 # 5 Fire Building Location: Scout Craft Staff: 4. Description: Water in the area is undrinkable. Without the aid of accelerants, build a fire and boil your water to make it drinkable. What The Patrol Provides: Materials for building fire. May light the fire with matches. 7 # 6 Horse Shoes: Location: Volley Ball Court Staff: Public Description: 1. Each player pitches two shoes followed by the opponent's two shoes. 2. In pitching a shoe, the player may not cross the foul line. 3. Players 14 and older pitch from 40 Players younger than 14 pitch from When playing teams, half the patrol throws from one stake and half throws from the other. 5. Any shoe must be within one horseshoe-width (measured across the outside of the open end of the shoe) of the stake to be considered for points. (Official rules call for 6 inches max). 2. Any shoe within 6 of the stack is 1 point. 3. Ringers are worth 3 points each and must completely encircle the stake so the ends can be touched with a straight-edge without touching the stake. 4. Leaners are worth 1 point. 5. Total score of patrol will be added to the score card.

8 # 7 Cactus Corral: Location: Schuck Camp Site Staff: Description: Each Patrol member is given 5 attempts. In turn you must try to throw the lasso on the arms of a cactus. Patrol Leader will determine order of Patrol members with Patrol Leader begin last to throw. What The Patrol Provides: 30 foot lasso go on line to learn how to tie a Honda knot. 4 Cacti (Tom Mapes) Tape Measure Stacks for Foul Lines (Tom Mapes) Method: Straight forward. Standing 15 feet away each patrol member gets Five (5) attempts to lasso the cactus. Points giving for which arm they lasso.

9 Scoring: Points given for each arm lassoed. If two arms are lassoed the score will the arm of the lowest value.

10 # 8 Bucket Brigade Location: Braden Camp Site Staff: Public Description: The Well is over here and the container is over there. Without moving the container, how quickly can you fill it using provided small containers? What The Patrol Provides: 40 Buckets #10 cans 4 Colors (Tom Mapes) 4 Five gallon containers 4 Colors (Tom Mapes) 2 Water through 150 Gallon (Tom Mapes) Stopwatch Tape Measure 30 Method: This is a timed race, the units will receive points according to the time it takes them to fill the water bucket. In this option, the patrol passes one bucket PER patrol member to fill the specified container, 25ft away from the starting point. Please record the patrol s time on the score sheet. 11 # 9 Sling Shots: Location: Archery Range Staff: To be ran by shooting sports. 4. Public Description: Each patrol member will get five shots to knock over 3 cans stacked in a pyramid at X 12 blocks of wood, or 2X10 on saw horses. 12 # 10 Archery: Location: Archery Range Staff: To be ran by shooting sports. Description: Each Scout will get Four shots at an 8 paper plate. Scoring Bows & Arrows (Camp Rotary) 4 Targets (Camp Rotary) 8 Plates for Targets 44 needed (Tom Mapes) Labels for marking plates for Patrol information and scoring. (Tom Mapes) Score will be total number of hits by patrol into plate. Top score would be 32.

13 # 11 Ga Ga Location: Doan Center Staff: Public Description: Ga Ga is played in a large octagon or hexagon called the Ga Ga pit. Ga ga begins with someone throwing the gaga ball up into the air. When it bounces the players say "Ga" each bounce for the first two bounces. The player's back should stay on the wall until the two bounces are done. After two bounces the ball is in play and the game starts. Players "hit" the ball at each other in the ring. A player cannot "hit" the ball twice in a row unless it bounces off a wall or another person. When a player is hit, he/she leaves the game. A player who hits or knocks the ball out of the pit is also out. If a player catches the ball in the air, the last person to hit the ball is out. Games will last for 10 minutes or when all players of losing team are out. 2 Balls (Tom Mapes) Stop Watch 16 Vests/Tee Shirts for one team to wear. Method: Scoring: Patrols will play two 15 minute games. Patrol leaders will draw for which pit they will start in. At the end of the first game the winners will play each other and the losers will play each other for game two. (After the two games are done and if time permits Scouts may continue to play. No score kept for extra play.) Score will be total number of patrol members in pit when losing team is out or total number of patrol members at the end of 15 minutes of play.
