3 Welcome Netball Scotland would like to thank you for entering the Scottish Youth Cup Competition, and welcome you to the new season. Yet again, we have seen a fantastic response to our Scottish Youth Cup Competition. We are thrilled to welcome new entries to the competition from clubs across the country. This season Netball Scotland are pleased to welcome all 75 teams to the competition, and we look forward to following the progress of each of the 31 clubs throughout the year. The format of this year s competition will remain the same as last, with a regional first round followed by knockout matches. The layout of each competition is detailed on the relevant page. In all age groups, on completion of the first round teams will compete in subsequent Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and then of course the Finals as part of Netball Scotland s National Finals Day in May Unfortunately there are some regional sections where travelling will be required, but we did our best to keep this to a minimum at this stage of the competition. All teams should now have a thorough read through the Scottish Youth Cup Rules, Regulations and Recommendations document previously circulated and ensure that all coaches and players are aware of our recently introduced competition guidelines. In this handbook you will find the draw for each section and a match report sheet (to be returned to Netball Scotland). In groups of 4, the 1 st placed team will go forward into the Quarter Final round. In groups of 3, the 1 st places team will go forward into the Quarter Final round. 4 v 2 5 v 3 1 v 4 2 v 5 In the group of 5, the 1 st placed team with the greatest points will be awarded a bye into the Semi Final. The remaining 6 Quarter Finalists will be redrawn out of a hat following completion of the 1 st round. Please note, the 1 st placed team from groups of 5 will be awarded the home tie. Teams who were in same groups and had previously played one another will be kept apart where possible in the next round. Quarter Finals are to be played by Sunday 6 th March The Semi Finals are to be played by Sunday 3 rd April
