Duke has been a No. 4 seed or better in 29 of its 32 NCAA Tournament trips under Mike Krzyzewski. It has played in Providence once in the NCAA Tournament, winning two regional games in the city en route to the 1978 Final Four. Duke has the best NCAA Tournament winning percentage in the event s history (.755) and ranks third all-time in NCAA Tournament wins (105). Krzyzewski has won an NCAA-record 88 NCAA Tournament games, including 40 this century. Krzyzewski has guided Duke to 20 or more wins in 20 consecutive seasons, becoming the third Division I men s coach to do so. Duke won 10+ ACC games for the 19th time in the last 20 seasons. Grayson Allen was a first-team All-ACC pick and earned Co-Most Improved Player honors from the coaches. Brandon Ingram was a second-team All- ACC selection and the ACC Freshman of the Year. Allen was named a second-team CoSIDA Academic All-American on March 3 and a Sporting News second-team All-American on March 9. Allen is on pace to be just the ninth player to lead Duke in both scoring and assists in a season. He could also be the seventh Duke player to average 20+ points and dish out 100 assists in a season. Among ACC freshmen this season, Ingram leads in scoring (16.8), three-point percentage (.413), rebounding (6.8) and double-doubles (8), and ranks second in blocks (1.4). Ingram s 16.8 points per game rank fourth among major-conference freshmen (Jamal Murray (20.1), Ben Simmons (19.2) and Henry Ellenson (17.0)). Duke s average of 81.5 points per game is the sixth-best among major-conference teams. DU ranks sixth nationally in offensive efficiency (119.3). Duke has made 306 three-pointers, the fourthbest single-season total in program history. Allen (83), Ingram (74) and Matt Jones (72) are the first trio in Duke history to each make 70+ threes in a season. Luke Kennard leads the ACC and ranks 10th nationally with an.887 free throw percentage, fourth-best in Duke history by a freshman. Marshall Plumlee nearly averaged a doubledouble in ACC play with marks of 9.4 points and 9.8 boards. He is the only Duke player to start all 33 games this season. 3 111TH SEASON OF BASKETBALL The campaign marks the 111th season of Duke basketball. The Blue Devils have compiled a 2, record in that span to rank fourth all-time in victories. Only Kentucky (2,204), Kansas (2,182) and North Carolina (2,168) have more wins. Duke s all-time.707 winning percentage is the fourth-best in NCAA history, behind only Kentucky (.764), North Carolina (.736) and Kansas (.722). COACH 1K Mike Krzyzewski owns a 1, (.765) record over 40-plus seasons as a head coach, including a (.788) mark at Duke (35-plus seasons). Coach K became the first men s coach in Division I college basketball to record 1,000 career victories with a win over St. John s on Jan. 25, 2015 at Madison Square Garden. Krzyzewski has also won a record 445 ACC games (regular season and tournament), having passed Dean Smith (422) on Feb. 4, Coach K owns 968 of Duke s 2,084 all-time wins, translating to 46.4 percent of the wins in the history of Duke men s basketball. Duke has won at least 20 games in 20 consecutive seasons, making Coach K the third coach Division I men s history to do so. INTERNATIONAL EXCELLENCE Having previously announced that the 2016 Rio Olympics will be his last as head coach of the U.S. Men s National Team, Mike Krzyzewski will transition to the role of special advisor to USA Basketbal for the quadrennium. Krzyzewski has been on the staffs of 14 different USA Basketball teams, compiling a (.947) record and 14 medals (10 gold). As a head coach with USA Basketball, he has a 94-7 (.931) record with 10 teams, claiming six golds among his 10 medals. Krzyzewski has guided the U.S. Men s National Team to a 75-1 (.987) record, including an active 63-game winning streak, and six total medals (five gold). Duke s scoring average of 81.5 points per game is the sixth-best mark among teams from the six major conferences. His 46 total blocks are tied for fifth on Duke s freshman chart and his average of 1.4 per contest is tied for fourth on Duke s freshman list. Duke is 13-4 this season when it blocks five or more shots as a team. GETTING TO THE LINE Duke ranks 30th nationally in free throws made (572) and 46th in free throw attempts (792). Duke s 572 makes from the line rank ninth among major conference teams this season. Duke, which averages only 16.6 personal fouls per game, has made 572 free throws while its opponents have only attempted 519 this season. Duke has a 40.2 free throw rate on the year, which measures how often a team scores from the line as opposed to the field.
