He is one of 28 players to have scored a point in at least 20 straight contests. JONES PUTTING UP BIG NUMBERS FROM MIDFIELD Myles Jones has registered a hat trick in seven of his eight outings and has at least five points in six of the eight games... He is nine assists shy of moving into 10th on the Duke single-season assists list and is 12 short of passing Jim Gonnella s midfield record for assists set in Jones Game-by-Game G-A-P at High Point Air Force Denver Mercer Harvard Providence Loyola Georgetown CLASS STARTING TO HIT HIS STRIDE Junior midfielder Deemer Class, much like in 2014, is starting to hit his stride as Duke approaches the midway point of the season... Rowe has won at least 50 percent of his draws in seven of eight contests... After winning just 8-of-28 (28.6) against Denver, he has won 68.2 percent of the restarts since... (.800) (.421) (.440) (.600) HAUS LEADS DUKE CLEARING GAME Will Haus arguably is a one-man clear... With the senior captain s speed and overall lacrosse IQ there is no secret to why Duke s clearing percentages in 2013 and 2014 are the highest in program history... Duke cleared successfully 89.4 percent of the time in 2014 and 88.5 percent of the time in The Blue Devils sport a 89.6 success rate through eight games this season. KYLE ROWE ADDED TO THE MIX Kyle Rowe joins his brother after a stellar rookie campaign at Stony Brook Rowe won nearly 63 percent of his faceoffs for the Seawolves and ranked fourth nationally with 248 victories at the X He also picked up 160 ground balls He is 24-of-43 this season for the Blue Devils after offseason surgery. YOUNG DEFENSE LEARNING THE ROPES While the graduation of Jordan Wolf, Josh Dionne and Christian Walsh was well documented, the departure of Chris Hipps, Casey Carroll, and Henry Lobb on the close defense has been less talked about... For the first time in recent memory, head coach John Danowski has had to teach a brand new close defense... The trio of Brian Dunne, Ethan Powley and Ian Yanulis had just one start among them heading into 2015, compared to the 135 the 2014 group had... Freshman Greg Pelton made the trio even younger when he joined the starting lineup against Harvard. DANOWSKI JOINS 350-WIN CLUB With a 16-6 win over Mercer, John Danowski became the fourth lacrosse coach across all three divisions to win at least 350 games... 8 JOHN DANOWSKI Cemented as one of the top coaches in college lacrosse, John Danowski has led the Duke men s lacrosse team to unprecedented success during his eight-year tenure. Danowski was introduced as Duke s eighth head men s lacrosse coach on July 21, 2006 and quickly led the Blue Devils to some of the most successful lacrosse seasons in school history and to three NCAA Championships in five seasons. In Danowski s eight years at the helm of the Blue Devils lacrosse program, he has compiled an impressive record in leading Duke to seven ACC regular season titles and four ACC tournament titles, eight straight appearances in the national semifinals, four in the NCAA title match and ultimately to the 2010, 2013 and 2014 national titles. The most recent NCAA crown put Danowski, a winner of 347 career games, among a small group of nine coaches to win three national titles and among eight to capture consecutive crowns. A winner of 80 percent of his games at Duke, the individual awards Blue Devil players have garnered is equally impressive. In only eight seasons, Danowski mentored 54 All-America selections, 25 All-ACC choices, two Tewaaraton Trophy winners, a pair of USILA Attackman of the Year honorees, a USILA Defenseman of the Year, a USILA Midfielder of the Year and 15 USILA Scholar All-America picks. While the success on the field is unsurpassed in Duke lacrosse history, the student-athletes excellence in the classroom also is unrivaled. The Blue Devils consistently lead the ACC in All-ACC Academic picks as well as players on the ACC Academic Honor Roll. This past season, Duke had 34 players over 75 percent of the team achieve a 3.0 grade point average for the entire academic year and a program-best four seniors earned USILA Scholar All-America honors.
