1 NORTH CAROLINA SENIOR GAMES SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT PRELIMINARY FORMAT AND SCHEDULE (Revised 9/10) SEPTEMBER 9-11, 2013 (Inclement Weather Make-Up Date Is September 12) WALNUT CREEK COMPLEX, RALEIGH Note: The cancellation deadline is August 23. September 2 is the deadline to add eligible players to a team. Reminder: Photo I.D's with proof of date of birth are required each day or a participant will not play! Check-in will be open on Wheel 1 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Wheel 2 on Tuesday. Female 55+: 6 teams-2 Pools (3 teams in each pool): Pool Play games on Monday to provide seeding for single elimination tournaments to be held on Wednesday. All six teams will advance. Four teams will advance to the single elimination Platinum Division on Tuesday (the first and second place team from each pool). The third place teams from each pool will play one game on Tuesday to determine the Gold Division winner. 2 Male 65+: 10 teams-3 Pools (3 teams in Pools A and B and 4 teams in Pool C): Pool play games on Monday and Tuesday to provide seeding for 2 single elimination divisional tournaments to be held on Wednesday. All ten teams will advance to the single elimination tournament into three different divisions (Platinum, Gold, Silver). The first place team from each pool will advance to the Platinum Division. The team that finishes second in the pools with the best run differential will also advance to the Platinum Division (Wildcard #1). The two remaining 2 nd place teams that did not advance to Platinum will advance to the Gold Division (Wildcard #2 and Wildcard #3). The final two teams that will advance to the Gold Division will be determined by run differential (Wildcard #4 and Wildcard #5). The final two teams (Wildcard #6 and Wildcard #7) that do not advance to the Gold Division will play a single game on Wednesday to determine the Silver Division winner.
