1 2017 NORTH CAROLINA NRA SMALLBORE RIFLE & SMALLBORE HUNTING RIFLE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP Sponsored by ASHEVILLE RIFLE AND PISTOL CLUB DATES: June 3, Smallbore Standard Rifle Silhouette Championship June 4, Smallbore Hunting Rifle Silhouette Championship TIMES: Matches will begin at 9 am both days. Lunch will be served between 40-shot matches. Lunches for non-competitors will be available at a cost of $7/day - note on Registration Form ENTRY FEES: Junior: $45 for one match; $65 for both days Others: $55 for one match; $75 for both days MEMBERSHIP: Membership in NRA is not required, but only NRA members can set/hold National Records. Membership in NCRPA (or your state's association) not required, but strongly encouraged RULES: Current NRA Smallbore Silhouette Rules will apply. Standard Velocity.22 S/L/LR ammo is required to keep from damaging the targets. Empty Chamber Indicators are required. CLASSIFICATION: Each competitor is required to have the current year's NRA Classification Book If they do not, Books will be available for sale and those competitors need to have their prior year's book with them to place them in the proper class for the tournament. If not able to determine the proper class, that competitor will be place into the highest available class for the tournament - unless there are 3 competitors available to make an Unclassified Class REGISTRATION: Entry form with payment must be received by May 19 in order to receive a free tee shirt. Entries will be accepted through June 2 or until range capacity is met. RANGE CAPACITY: The Tournament is limited to 60 shooters per day, so be sure and register early. PRACTICE: The range will be open for practice on Friday, June 2 from Noon until 5 pm, and on Match Days from 8:00-8:45 am. SQUADDING: Competitors can choose their starting position and relay on a first come - first serve basis at check-in on Friday, June 2. Competitors will score for the relay following them.

2 COURSE OF FIRE: Each day's match is the aggregate of two 40-shot matches fired as follows: 10 shots at Chickens at 40 meters 10 shots at Pigs at 60 meters 10 shots at Turkeys at 77 meters 10 shots at Rams at 100 meters Long run record attempts will be shot at the completion of the days shooting and awards. Ties will be decided by shoot-offs at the end of that day's matches: State Champ or Open Champ - Sudden Death shootoff at Turkeys Class Winners - Sudden Death shootoff at that Class' assigned animal High Animal Winners - Sudden Death shootoff at that Class' assigned animal Special Awards - Sudden Death shootoff at Turkeys AWARDS: All awards will be based upon the 80-shot aggregate score for that day's matches. North Carolina State Champion will be awarded only to an NC resident who will not win a class award. Open Champion will be awarded to the highest scoring non-resident who will not win a class award. There will be three (3) places awarded in each class, unless the class is large (12 or more) when 4 will be awarded. Similarly, if the Class is too small, less places will be awarded - this can happen because it takes 3 shooters make a Class. Awards will also be given to Special Categories, such as High Super Senior, High Senior, High Lady, High Junior/Int Junior/Sub Junior (as registered) as well as awards for High Animal in each Class. Competitors eligible for multiple awards will choose which award they wish to receive - except High Animal awards will go to the winner irrespective of other awards won.
