1 The Irish Open & European Open Ski Championships Ski Club of Ireland, Kilternan 3rd October 2015 Irish Open Slalom Championships International Team Parallel Slalom 4th October 2015 European Open Slalom Championships Race Bulletin 2 Acceptance Welcome to Irish Open & European Championships weekend organised by the Ski Club of Ireland. We hope all racers and spectators have an enjoyable weekend and would like to thank all the volunteers for their help and support and the Snowsports Association of Ireland and SkiRacing Supplies for their sponsorship. Rules Racers and coaches should familiarise themselves with current rules and recommendations for artificial slopes regarding helmets, equipment and course inspection. For further information see Competitors are reminded of the regulations requiring the use of protective bungs or caps on ski pole tips Awards Irish Open Championships awards will be made to Male & Female competitors as follows:- Overall 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd overall Age Groups 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd in age group International Slalom - awards will be made to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams. European Open Championships awards will be made to Male & Female competitors as follows:- Overall 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd overall Age Groups 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd Organisation Chief of Race: David Mitchell Race Convenor: Maria Reilly Race Office: Will be located at the Race Convener s address, until the morning of 3 rd October when it will transfer to the Clubhouse at the Ski Club of Ireland beside the slope at Kilternan.

3 Acceptance Entries and Acceptances: The Jury have decided to accept all 105 entries received as listed on the attached Acceptance list. There are 43 Female and 62 Male entrants. Protests relating to the acceptance List will be considered at a Jury meeting on 2 nd October. Protests should be forwarded to the Race Conveners by letter by on that date, or by fax to the Ski Club of Ireland at Late Entries: Late entries will be accepted up to 7:00pm Wednesday 30 th September, at which point the Jury will be carrying out the Draw for start positions. For entries after this date please contact the Race Convenor directly and they will be considered at the discretion of the organisers. Any entries that are accepted after the Draw has been done will be placed at the end of the start list and will thus race at the beginning of the first run. Draw, Running Order, and Seed Points: Running order in both competitions will be on the basis of the latest ibarts list Race Rules: The Championships will be run under FIS rules as varied by BSS & SSE, published in the British Artificial Competition Rules (BACR) This manual is available on Draw and Start Lists: The Draw will be made on 30 th September and Start lists will be available at the Race Office on the morning of ea.ch event. International Parallel Slalom: This will involve National Teams only. Each team is to consist of two male, two female, and two male competitors, racing in that order. BACR rules will apply. There will be a Team Manager s meeting in the Race office at 9.00 on Saturday 3 rd Team nominations for the parallel Slalom should be handed in to the Race Office, no later than noon on Saturday morning. Race Numbers / Bibs: Will be available in the Club rooms at the foot of the slope each morning from Course Inspection: The method of course inspection will be from the top down. Competitors must not ski through the gates. Skis and Bibs must be worn for course inspection. Practice: Competitors are welcome to practice on the slope (free of charge) from (approx.) to on Friday 2 nd, practice times on race days are listed above. Directions to the Slope There is a map on the club website: Photography: There may be an official photographer at the Championships. Racers who do not wish to have their photograph taken must inform the Race Convenor prior to the day of the race. Catering: Snacks and refreshments will be available throughout race days at the marquee located below the slope.
