Club Program Report From Program Director, Jon Schuette 2018 Season: (analysis on teams, coaches, players and season): Club had 202 players and 12 teams with year teams and coaches: Boys: Harbor B01/02 Barracudas - Jeffrey Flaskerud 22 (It appears there are no graduating seniors so there is a good possibility this team will be returning. Jeff has been a great and consistent coach and his players loyal. Many of the players will be playing in high school and I would like to offer them practice time to maintain those skills until the season starts. Some parents have expressed this to me. Some of these kids may benefit with practicing with the Premier teams until they are released for high school. I feel we need to keep kids in soccer to maintain not only their skills and ability but their interest also.)for the last few weeks of the season, I am trying to see how many teams would be willing to practice on Friday. We would rent one field at GHHS for Fridays for one or two hours at $96 an hour. I will need to gage interest and have at least three or four teams. Harbor B04 Jaguars Scott Mock 19 (Many of the players will be back as some are interested in high school sports. Some may want to practice with Premier teams as they have an interest in soccer and want to keep up their skills.) Harbor B06 Firehawks - Robert Kregenow/ Mike Stewart 19 (This team played in division 2 and came in third out of eight teams. Many of these kids may be on the cusp of Premier but appreciate playing as a team. Mike and Robert did a great job in developing and challenging this team. There is more work to be done as this team started out strong playing well against the top two teams but then struggled against those teams in the second half.) 22
Club Program Report From Program Director, Jon Schuette, con t Boys, con t: Harbor B06 Tornados - Timothy Lewis 19 (This team won their division and may want to move up. Tim brought in a Premium coach (James S.) to run some practices and it appears to have paid dividends. Tim would like his son to work-out with the B06 Premium teams to possibility hone and maintain his skills. I will speak with Jason regarding this.) Girls: Harbor G06 GH Flood Jordan Simmonds 13 (Jordan had a good year coaching three different teams. He is obviously invested in the game and it appears Harbor also. The Flood finished 2nd in their division and may also want a challenge next year in another division. They scored 29 goals and allowed 19. They may benefit from finishing.) Harbor G06 GH Tides Warren Sharpe 13 (There will need to be a lot of effort in keeping this team together. I will need to work on their confidence in the program. A coaching change may be needed to change the dynamics of the team and get them back together. I will need to send out an and have discussions with the parents to gains some insights into the season. Jordan and I created the two G06 teams based on geographic location of the players.) Harbor G05 Orcas - Melanie Fergus - 15 (I am not sure if the G05 teams will stay together as many of the girls may want to play high school soccer. We may only have one or two teams. Melanie has been a great coach. The Orcas finished second in division 2. There were some scheduling problems at the end of the season due to the Rec Cup. I feel SSUL needs to do a better job at scheduling the Rec Cup game opposite the regular season games.) Harbor G05 Panthers - Marla Klipper 18 (Marla is also a great coach and her team finished right behind Melanie s. It came down to the last game of the season between the two. Again, same issue as far as girls wanting to play high school soccer.) 23
Club Program Report From Program Director, Jon Schuette, con t Overall comments: We have the new G07 and B07 teams coming from Small-Sided and I have already spoken to one of the coaches at the AGM. I know we will not have one 07 team continuing/returning which will decrease numbers. Tim s experiment of utilizing a Premier Coach may be beneficial for other teams. I would like to offer this to all teams and add the cost into the budget. I feel if we can enhance talent early on, we may get more players for the premier program. I like the idea of bringing the Premier and Rec programs together at least for one practice/tech training. I feel the Rec program could benefit overall from the partnership as they could not only pick up on additional tactics and skills but also be encouraged by playing alongside Premier Players. In a Rec environment, I am not sure if moving players to different teams with different coaches will work until the player s motivation is to reach the next level. Rec, in my view is for fun and kids having fun playing with their friends. 24

Boys Director of Coaching 3 rd Practice Tech Sessions Introduced a new concept for Tech in October. 'Harbor World training' has proven to be a success by both the players and coaches. Each station is identified by a countries style of play i.e. Brazil - Skill station, Germany - Defending station, USA - Speed and agility station and Spain - possession themed station. 15 minutes of hard work in each country then rotate to the next country. Fantastic concept that allows players to truly think about the change in topics when move from zone to zone. On the Field Personally trying to get out to as many Harbor SC premier games as possible. Great to see the kids not only playing but playing the correct way. Very happy with the coaches sticking to the club philosophy and trying to play an attractive style of soccer. Fascinates me to see other clubs at our facility encourage 8 year olds to shoot from Kick Off. If we had a coach encourage that we would deal with it immediately and remind them that they are paid to 'teach' the game of soccer. 27

Girls Director of Coaching A busy start to December for the Girls On the girls side the first couple of weeks of December were busy. The G05 and G06 teams played the last couple games of their fall RCL season. Both of them are standing in 2nd place of the second division and are poised to move to the first division with a strong winter season which will begin in January. The high school aged teams (G00-G04) began their RCL season the first couple weeks of December and will conitnue to April when state cup starts. All teams began the Christmas break the week of December 17 and returned to training on January 3rd.. In January a number of our teams will be participating in the PAC Winter Classic and all of them will resume their RCL season. 29

Youth Director Great response to Winter/Spring recruiting During December we were working hard to continue recruiting new players for Winter and Spring season. We have added over 50+ players. Majority are Junior Academy. Junior academy has grown by 6 new U8 teams and two U9 teams. We are still waiting for some to register. Due to the holiday period in December most of it was a planning period between the directors. Started our planning for teams next season. Future coaches and growth etc. For January we will be attending the convention and the majority of the convention I will be attending director classes. I have started my meeting with coaches for junior academy and explaining the new format for the spring season Explaining curriculum etc. 31
