4 Overview The E.A.H.L. exists to provide a safe and fun experience for hockey players of all levels. There are no team levels or tiers, rather this league is composed of teams of very mixed skill levels, allowing friends to play together regardless of hockey talents (or lack thereof). The goals and guiding principles, in order or importance are as follows, 1. Safely 2. Fun 3. Competition Think of this as just above shinny. The current Hockey Canada Rule Book will be utilized for all games with the exception of rules specific to the Everyone s Adult Hockey. These exceptions all are listed within the E.A.H.L. Rule Book. All rules could be modified, changed or deleted by the E.A.H.L. Management at any point during the season. It is expected that Team Representatives and players understand the rules set forth in this Rule Book. Not knowing a specific rule is an unacceptable method of avoiding penalty or consequence. Upon completion of the season, League Management will review the conduct of players and teams to ensure the rules and regulations of the E.A.H.L. have been adhered to. The E.A.H.L. reserves the right to decline the registration, suspend or expel without refund an individual or team for violating the rules and regulations in this document. Revised: September 13, 2017 Page 4 of 18

5 City Of Oshawa Rules & Requirements CITY OF OSHAWA POLICIES DAMAGE TO ARENA PREMISES Any damage or vandalism within any City of Oshawa Arena will be replaced at the cost of the offending individual or team. Any further penalty as a result of damage or vandalism is at the discretion of E.A.H.L. Management. ALCOHOL Alcoholic beverages in all forms are prohibited in all areas of any City of Oshawa Arena (including the Parking Lot). Failure to adhere to this rule will result in a suspension for the offending player(s). If a team receives a second violation, the Team Representative will also be suspended for the same length of time as the offender. Teams may be issued a fine, a suspension or expulsion from the league. Referees also have the ability to issue a game misconduct for any player suspected to be intoxicated. SMOKING AND DRUG USE All players MUST abide by the rules of the Hosting Facility. Smoking is not permitted at virtually all facilities. All persons caught violating the facilities rules (eg. smoking or using illegal substances of any kind) will be immediately suspended for that night of play. If the offending person has already played their game prior to being caught, they will be suspended for the following scheduled game. PERSONAL PROPERTY The City of Oshawa and the E.A.H.L. accept no responsibility for lost, damaged or stolen personal property. Please refrain from taking valuables into the facility. LEAGUE INFORMATION All teams/players are asked to visit our website at on a regular basis to ensure urgent notices and/or messages to league members are recognized. You can also follow us on facebook E.A.H.L. Hockey. INCIDENTS AND ACCIDENTS All incidents or accidents must be reported to City of Oshawa and/or E.A.H.L. Staff Members in a timely manner following the occurrence. Revised: September 13, 2017 Page 5 of 18

6 DRESSING ROOMS Teams are asked to vacate their dressing rooms thirty minutes after their game to allow for the staff to clean the room for the following team. Any vandalism within the dressing room will result in fines and suspensions for the offending team, as well as the team representative. Please report any damage and/or deficiencies to E.A.H.L. or facility staff immediately. Teams may need to provide their own lock. HEAD/FACE CONTACT Any non accidental contact while gloves are on (face wash, punch, jab) to an opposing players face or head is a 5 minute major and will be reviewed by the Disciplinary Manager. PLAYER ON MULTIPLE TEAMS Only coaches that manage multiple teams can be on more than one team roster. Other players are only to be on one roster per season. Any player found playing on another team (that isn t a legal fill in) will be subject to disciplinary action under the INELIGIBLE PLAYERS rulediscipline MANAGER. PLAYER SUBSTITUTIONS If a team has six or less players to play a game they are allowed to borrow another league member that night to play the game. Teams borrowing players that aren t needed will be punished under the INELIGIBLE PLAYERS ruleerror! Reference source not found.. Borrowing players in playoffs is not allowed, teams must use only players on team roster who have played enough games to qualify. SEENEY SUBSTITUTION RULE In acknowledgement and appreciation for all the work Dave Seeney did in creating his OAHL league (the predecessor or E.A.H.L.), Dave Seeney is a valid SUB for any team wanting him to play at any time. Essentially he is automatically on all rosters without consuming a roster slot and has automatically played enough games. So if Dave s back in town, he can play.
