Milner stopped all 53 shots on the weekend for the Eagles in two shutouts vs. Air Force and Minnesota-Duluth, which included 33 stops in the NCAA Northeast Regional Final on Sunday night vs. the Bulldogs. Milner was named Most Outstanding Player of the Northeast Regional for his efforts. He is the first goalie since Cory Schneider in 2006 to recorded back-to-back shutouts in NCAA play. HOCKEY EAST TEAM OF THE WEEK BOSTON COLLEGE EAGLES The Eagles earned a trip to the Frozen Four for the fifth time in the last seven years with a 4-0 shutout of defending National Champion Minnesota-Duluth on Sunday night in the NCAA Northeasten Regional Final at the DCU Center in Worcester, Mass. The Eagles opened the weekend with a 2-0 shutout of Air Force on Saturday afternoon. Tallied one assist and a team-high 13 shots in wins over Air Force and Minnesota-Duluth. Alex Chiasson, BU (Jr., F, St. Augustin, Que.) Earned a pair of assists in the Terriers first-round NCAA contest against Minnesota. Adam Clendening, BU (So., D, Wheatfield, N.Y.) Recorded a power-play goal and an assist versus Minnesota on Saturday. Ross Gaudet, BU (Jr., F, Burlington, Mass.) Scored his fifth goal of the season to make it a 2-2 contest against Minnesota on Saturday in the NCAA Regionals. Chris Kreider, BC (Jr., F, Boxford, Mass.) ARMY ROTC THREE STARS AWARD At the conclusion of each Hockey East game, the Army ROTC Three Stars of The Game are selected. Congratulation to BU s Kieran Millan for winning this year s award. BOSTON COLLEGE POWER PLAY The Eagles power-play converted once in each win over the weekend has scored a man-advantage tally in 15-ofthe-last 17 games. The Eagles are 15-for-50 in the power play during the team s 15-game win streak (30%) BOSTON COLLEGE PENALTY KILL The team s penalty kill went 7-for-7 over the weekend and is 51-for-57 on the PK (89.5 percent) in the last 15 games (all wins) Johnny Gaudreau, BC (CARNEYS POINT, N.J.) 3 TEAM NOTES Boston College: BC improves to on the season. The Eagles are in the midst of their second straight 30-win season. The Eagles advance to the Frozen Four, and will take on Minnesota on Thursday, April 5, at 8 p.m. Boston College is making its 10th appearance in the Frozen Four since the season The Eagles extend their NCAA-leading win streak to 17 straight games BC has shut out back-toback opponents twice during the streak. The other time was Feb. 24 and 25 against Providence, 3-0 and 7-0 Boston College is all-time in the NCAA Tournament and 30-9 in the tournament under head coach Jerry York York is all-time in the NCAA Tournament. He owns the most tournament wins in NCAA Division I The Eagles won their eighth straight NCAA Tournament game at the DCU Center and improve to 10-1 in the building since the season. The Eagles have shut out five opponents during their 17-game win streak. Milner is the first goalkeeper to post back-to-back shutouts in an NCAA regional since Boston College s Cory Schneider blanked Miami (Ohio) 5-0 and Boston University 5-0 on March 24-25, 2006 With a goal and an assist tonight, Johnny Gaudreau has points in six of his last seven games and 13 of his last 15. Gaudreau became the third Eagle to reach 20 goals this season, joining Chris Kreider and Barry Almeida (22 each). Boston University: The Xcel Energy Center was the 12th different venue in which Boston University and Minnesota have met and the teams are now an even in their 26 meetings...this season, junior Alex Chiasson recorded a team-high 46 points (15g, 31a) - the most by BU right wing since Mike Grier also put up 46 during the campaign...senior captain Chris Connolly (Duluth, Minn.), who had his 153-game career come to an end in his native state of Minnesota, finished with 129 career points (39g, 90a), which places him 36th all-time at BU... Junior Wade Megan (Canton, N.Y.) got BU on the board on Saturday against Minnesota with his team-leading 20th goal of the season...sophomore Matt Nieto (Long Beach, Calif.) had a seven-game point streak come to an end after being held off the scoresheet by the Gophers...Senior Kieran Millan (Edmonton, Alta.) made 35 saves in his final game as a Terrier and will graduate as the program s all-time leader in wins (81), saves (3,768) and games played (138)...Each of BU s top 14 point-scorers recorded a power-play goal this season...bu had the best road record in the nation this season at (.719) and went (.400) in neutral-site contests...this year s senior class was part of 95 wins over its four seasons at BU. 156 career points Flynn finished his career having played in 152 consecutive games He missed just one game in his career, the second game of his freshman season Maine finishes the season scoring at a 26.7 percent clip on the power play Sophomore goalie Dan Sullivan (York, Pa.) made 894 saves on the season, good enough for fifth place on Maine s single season saves list His 36 games played were fourth most in a single season in Maine history. UMass-Lowell: UMass Lowell finishes the season with a record after defeating Miami University in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament East Regional, 4-3 OT, and falling to Union in the Championship game, 4-2. The River Hawks finished with the seventh most wins in the 45-year history of the program and the third most since moving to Division I in UMass Lowell s 24 wins are the most since it won 26 in The River Hawks 4-3 overtime victory against Miami University was the program s first NCAA Division I Tournament win since Mar. 23, 1996 a 6-2 victory at Michigan State and third all-time. Junior Riley Wetmore finished the weekend with two goals, including Friday s game-winner. High scoring freshman Scott Wilson finished with 38 points on 16 goals and 22 assists, the most by a UMass Lowell freshman since Greg Bullock scored 59 points in HOCKEY EAST IN THE FROZEN FOUR: 37 Hockey East teams have qualified for the Frozen Four in the 28-year history of the league...of the 14 Hockey East Teams that have won both the regular-season and tournament championship, 10 teams have advanced to the Frozen Four, seven have earned a spot in the NCAA Championship Game and four teams have won the NCAA Championship...Since regional tournament play began in 1992, 27 of the 42 teams that have advanced to the Frozen Four from the eastern regional tournaments have been from Hockey East...Over the last 15 seasons, Hockey East has boasted 22 of the 60 Frozen Four qualifiers, the most of any conference...at least one Hockey East team has appeared in the National Championship Game in 13 of the last 15 years. Hockey East was represented by at least one team in the NCAA championship game in each of eight straight years from 1997 to Boston College has appeared in the NCAA Championship Game in four of the last six seasons. Maine: Maine fell to defending National Champion Minnesota Duluth on Saturday in the Northeast Regional Hockey East Player of the Year Spencer Abbott (Hamilton, Ontario) scored his 21st goal of the season in the game He finishes the campaign with 21 goals and 41 assists for 62 points The 62 points is the most since Steve Kariya scored 65 during the season Abbott finishes his career with 146 career points Senior Will O Neill (Salem, Mass.) scored his 100th and 101st career points on Saturday night against Minnesota Duluth He becomes just the seventh defenseman in Maine history to reach the milestone Brian Flynn (Lynnfield, Mass.) finishes his career ranked 11th on Maine all-time scoring list with 69 goals and 87 assists for
