Meeting called to order at 7:00 by Kevin McFarlane 3. Rob Thilmany approved December s gambling minutes. Joel Cessna seconded. Motion carried. 11/16 Monthly statistics Pull-tab sales were down $75,296 from October Net Profit $161,857 Paddlewheel Sales were up $3100 from October Net Profit $7583 Bingo Sales were up $6858 from October Net Profit $7657 Tipboard Sales were down $300 from October Net Profit $450 E Gaming sales were down $545 from October Net Profit 0 Total $177,547 Cash long/short: Payout %: 85% Balance as of today: $466, *high because of the raffle calendar deposits* Continue to look at ways to decrease shortages and payout percentages, including guidelines to sellers, communication of statistics, practice changes, consistent monitoring and discipline, as needed. They will review the calendar raffle and my records for our December tax return. At this point we are off by $250* Expenses Prizes paid (gambling) = $15,050 Calendar cost (gambling) = $ Total Deposits $83,750 Expenses $22, PROFIT: $ Other expenses not directly related to the calendar raffle: Award prizes (1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd place) (general) =$1500 $5 reimbursement for additional calendars sold (general) = 1350 $5 reimbursement for pulltab booth sales (gambling) =1755 Gambling Managers Salary (gambling) = $6000 Issue in regards to the buyout option that was new this year. Because the money for the buyout option was included in the team check totals, we will need to motion to reimburse the general $14,450. Since these funds do not go directly towards the calendar raffle (sales of calendars) they are not allowed to be deposited into the gambling account. If the membership votes to do a 3 rd annual calendar raffle next year, this issue will be fixed by using the online registration system to direct the funds to the correct account. I m currently working on this for next year. I d like to thank the team managers for all their help with the calendar raffle. Overall, it went very smoothly and the team managers were very helpful. 3 City of Vadnais Heights The City of Vadnais Heights is contesting our independent audit we submitted to the city regarding the White Bear Lake Hockey Association following the city ordinances. Specifically, the amount of money spent within the city. Our audit, which was completed by Abdo, Eick, and Meyer states that we were in compliance with the cities ordinances. I ve turned over, with the help of Heidi, our ice bills, receipts and meeting minutes to the charitable gambling s attorney, Chris Wachtler who is looking into the matter as well as Abdo, Eick and Meyer. We had issues with the city council when we took over charitable gambling at Jimmy s and now it sounds as though they would like us removed from both Jimmy s and Saks Locations. Not being allowed to conduct any charitable gambling within their city. I ve spoken with both Jimmy s and Saks bar owners and they would like to continue having White Bear Lake Hockey conduct their charitable gambling. MN Department of Revenue I ve received notice on December 16 th that the White Bear Lake Hockey Associations charitable gambling and general account are being audited by the MN Dept of Revenue. We are required to provide 3.5 years worth of documents to them for this audit, plus 100 pulltab games, tri wheel tickets, raffles, bingo and any other forms of gambling that we have done the last 3.5 years. I ve signed over the power of attorney to the accountants at MN Gambling to help answer any questions that may come up. Heide and I are scheduled to meet with them on January 26 th at 10:30am. MN Gambling control board Tri Wheel Compliance Review MN Gambling control conducted a compliance review of our tri wheel operations at the White Bear Bar and McCarron s locations. They have reported to me that we have no violations of rule or stature, and to stay vigilant and keep up the good work. Mite Winterblast The owners of the Village Sports Bar approached me about having the WBLAHA pitch in a portion of the setup for the Winterblast. They have additional expenses such as higher electrical bills, purchasing the tarp, sad, setting up the boarding, etc. This money can be donated from Gambling if approved. They said that their set up costs are roughly $5000.

4 Note: They also stated that they are looking into purchasing an ice cooling system to have ice earlier and letting WBL Hockey teams use it for practices throughout the season. Chris Olson made a motion to donate $ to alleviate set up costs at the stadium during the Mite Winterblast. Joel Cessna seconded. Motion carried. Player Appreciation Party Last year we had the player appreciation party on the second Saturday in February. Should we do it again this year? And if so, does February 11 th work? I can check with the owner of Doc s Landing if this date works for the membership. The board decided to hold the player appreciation party on February 11 th. Big Bingo Party There will be big bingo party on Sunday, February 12 th at McCarron s at 1pm. Adjournment: Rob Thilmany motioned to adjourn meeting. Heide Geir seconded. Motion carried. They will send out a report next week and then move on to phase 2 Meeting with the VFW about the VFW State Tournament D2 Representative: Chris LeClair Playoff brackets were posted last week Need someone to attend the D2 meeting this coming Sunday Hoping to get volunteer hours by next week. Will have hours for Squirts through Jr. Gold Wisconsin teams will be participating in playoff this season

Girls Hockey Director report- Sarah Smith U12B s took home the championship from Silverbay 10. Player Development Report- Scott Ide Player Development Working on summer ice for squirts and peewees. Still waiting to hear about bantams 11. Coordinators Report Brian Griffin 1 st week of Winterblast went smooth. No issues 2 nd week of Winterblast looks like weather will be perfect 12.
