You can do your coursework in a sleek, accessible environment at times that are convenient to you. Online courses appeal to students who work during the day or have difficulty getting to campus for a traditional classroom course. Learning Online is... Different from a traditional classroom course in format only. Online courses are just as challenging and interesting as other courses you might take at MJC. They carry full college credit that may be applied to MJC graduation or university transfer. Plus, you register for an online course as you would for any MJC course. If you can answer "Yes" to all these questions, you are ready to take an online class. Do you have an address? Are you a self-motivated, disciplined, and independent learner? Do you have good reading and problem-solving skills? Do you have regular access to a computer with a reliable Internet connection? Are you comfortable sending and using a wordprocessing application like Microsoft Word? Are you comfortable sending attachments and using a web browser? Blackboard TM Learning System We offer instruction online using the Blackboard TM- Learning System, a comprehensive web-based instruction system used by colleges and universities around the globe. The Blackboard Learning System is a virtual campus where you submit your assignments, chat with instructors and peers, and, of course, learn. How Online Learning Works Course curriculum is posted on the Blackboard Learning System, which is accessible through Courses are available around the clock, making it possible to fit them into your schedule when it is convenient for you. However, online courses take the same total amount of time as on-campus courses, and their activities are based on deadlines, so careful time management is required in order to be successful. You may interact with your instructor and classmates using tools such as , online presentations, discussion boards, and/or chat rooms.
