1 2016 MELROSE MINI PAK ELEMENTRY TOURNAMENT The Melrose Mini Pak is planning our annual elementary basketball tournament at Melrose for February 12-13, Friday games will start mid-day pending entry # s, and Saturday start at 8AM so please take this into consideration before entering. Please share or forward this information with all who might be interested. There will be 2 age divisions. These are: Junior Third & Fourth Graders Senior Fifth & Sixth Graders Tournament information: 2. Teams are guaranteed 3 games (NOT Double Elimination). Co-Ed teams accepted in the boys brackets. 3. Junior and Senior will play on 10 ft. goals. Senior boys will use a boys ball, all others will play with a girls ball. 4. Entry fees are $100 per team. 5. The tournament will be limited to 32 teams. 8 Teams per division/gender. First-come, first-served basis. 6. Entries forms and fees can be mailed to: Mini Pak, c/o Neal Delk, 1200 SR 268, Melrose, NM Entries and rosters can be ed to t6delk@yahoo.com. SPOTS ARE NOT HELD OR GUARANTEED UNTIL ENTRY FORMS AND MONIES ARE RECEIVED. Entries are not final until a full roster with player numbers is received. Entry Fees are non-refundable. 7. Reversible (light and dark) jerseys with numbers on both front and back are preferred. 8. Gate admission fees are $3 for adults and $2 for students (ONLY players and coach on roster get in free). 9. Medals will be given to the 1 st place winners in each bracket. 11. A full concession serving breakfast, lunch and dinner items will be available during the tournament, so we would appreciate teams refraining from bringing outside food into the gyms. 12. Melrose Mini Pak and Melrose Schools are not responsible for accidents, injuries, or theft of personal belongings. 4 Tournament Rules Generally high school rules with the following exceptions: Tournament officials have the right to make any changes or decisions deemed necessary. Home team top of bracket will sit to scorekeepers left Home team to provide book keeper, Visitor team to provide clock keeper. 3 rd 4 th Grade BOYS/GIRLS 10 ft. goals 15 minute running halves Running clock (clock stops for time outs only & last 2 minutes of game) 28.5 girls ball Free shots from the white line 3-point shot counts Full court press allowed (with 10 pt lead, defense to fall back.) With 10 point lead defense drops back to 10 ft. volleyball line Time outs 3 full per game 5 minute half-time (unless schedule necessitates changes at the discretion of tournament officials) 10 minutes between games (unless schedule necessitates changes at the discretion of tournament officials) 2 minute overtime running clock Second overtime will be sudden death Only 2 adult coaches/book keepers allowed on the bench.
