Certificate of Insurance (not attached here) all clubs are required to provide one certificate from either US Lacrosse or their Town/City (that will cover all of their teams) naming Equinox Lacrosse and the Town of Manchester VT as additional named insureds. 3 2018 Equinox ShootOut Rules of Play 1. Coaches/referees meeting at 8:00 AM at registration tent. First games will start promptly at 8:30 AM EXCEPT for the Girls-3/4 who will start at 9 AM. 2. Games will be 25 minute running time matches beginning on the hour and the half hour. Teams need to be on the field, ready to play at their start times. Horns will signify start and end of games. 3. No time outs. 4. No official game scores will be kept. 5. Substitutions - Subbing on the fly throughout game play- subs must enter/exit out of sub box- player leaving field must be in the sub box before new player enters. 6. Proper conduct by coaches, parents and other spectators is expected. ZERO TOLERANCE RULE will be strictly enforced. 7. At the Lightning (U-11) level, we are promoting team play and distribution of the ball rather than a one-player offense, To help this effort, we have a 3-pass rules for boys and girls meaning that 3 passes have to occur between 3 different players anywhere on the field before a shot can be taken refs to interpret attempted passes. The boys also have a 1-pass rule after a major penalty is assessed where the ball is awarded at midfield. 8. Five-goal rule. If a team is down by 5 goals, no face off, free clear from X 9. Weather: all play will be suspended if thunder is heard or lighting is seen. 30 minutes following the last time thunder is heard or lighting is seen, play will be resumed according to the event schedule. This may result in the cancellation of a game or part thereof. It may be possible to reschedule games at the end of the day by agreement among the teams involved and jamboree officials. Boys Field Rules 1. Penalties Senior (U-15) and Junior (U-13): time will be served...coaches to keep track. Lightning (U-11): no time served, offending player comes off, fast break from inside center X for major penalties (Ref determines).. 2. Stick Checks All Divisions: Two handed stick checks only.

4 3. Body checking Senior & Junior Division. Body checking allowed. However, it is the ESO s goal to promote clean play and a safe, fun day for all boys, therefore take out checks and charging will be strictly prohibited. Officials will strictly enforce all contact prohibitions. Coaches will encourage safe, skilled play over physical intimidation. Lighting Divisions: Bumping and blocking allowed. No body checking 4. No timed clear or failure to advance. 5. Full equipment is required including mouthpiece. No jewelry. 6. Long Poles allowed. 7. Unless otherwise noted in the ESO rules, we will be following the accepted guidelines and practices of the US Lacrosse Rules for boy s youth players. 1. Penalties. Mandatory mouth guard & eye gear for field players. NO JEWELRY. Strings should be tight. 5. Ball must come above the side of the cross when pushed down - Same for all ages. 6. Goalies must have helmet with face guard, chin strap & throat protector, mouth guard, gloves, padding across chest & thighs. 7. Three-Second rule (Defensive) all divisions will observe the 3 second rule against a defender within the 8 meter arc for more than 3 seconds unless she is marking an opponent within a stick s length. l 8. Three-Second rule (Offensive) Lightning Division (U-11) only Lightning (U-11) division will observe the 3- second rule against an offensive player who holds the ball for more than 3 seconds when closely guarded/marked this penalty is rarely called but is part of US Lacrosse rules and will be observed. 8. 6 2018 Equinox ShootOut CODE OF CONDUCT US LACROSSE AND THE POSITIVE COACHING ALLIANCE Lacrosse is the oldest American sport. Native Americans played lacrosse centuries ago, long before our colonies were settled. Through lacrosse, Native Americans celebrated and emphasized their spiritual and cultural values. In an effort to promote appropriate values in the modern game, US Lacrosse has partnered with the Positive Coaching Alliance to promote positive coaching and good sportsmanship at all levels of the lacrosse. US Lacrosse has included the following "Lacrosse Code of Conduct" as part of its membership application to encourage and foster appropriate values in players, coaches, parents, officials and spectators. US Lacrosse believes that it should be a priority of every lacrosse player, team, program and league to "Honor the Game". US LACROSSE CODE OF CONDUCT Players, coaches, officials, parents and spectators are to conduct themselves in a manner that "Honors the Game" and demonstr ates respect to other players, coaches, officials, parents and spectators fans. In becoming a member of the lacrosse community an individual assumes certain obligations and responsibilities to the game of lacrosse and its participants. The essential elements in this "Code of Conduct" are HONESTY and INTEGRITY. Those who conduct themselves in a manner that reflects these elements will bring credit to the sport of lacrosse, themselves, their team and their organization. It is only through such conduct that our sport can continue to earn and maintain a positive image and make its full contribution to amateur sports in the United States and around the world. US Lacrosse supports the following behaviors for those who participate in the sport or are involved in any way with US Lacrosse. The following essential elements of the "Code of Conduct" must be f ollowed: Sportsmanship and teaching the concepts of fair play are essential to the game and must be taught at all levels and developed both at home and on the field during practices and games. The value of good sportsmanship, the concepts of fair play, and the skills of the game should always be placed above winning. The safety and welfare of the players are of primary importance. Coaches must always be aware of the tremendous influence they have on their players. They are to strive to be positive role models in dealing with young people, as well as adults. Coaches should always demonstrate positive behaviors and reinforce them to players, parents, officials and spectators alike. Players should be specifically encouraged and positively reinforced by coaches to demonstrate respect for teammates, opponents, officials and spectators. Players should always demonstrate positive behavior and respect toward teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, parents and spectators. Coaches, players, parents and spectators are expected to demonstrate the utmost respect for officials and reinforce that respect to players/teammates. Coaches are also expected to educate their players as to the important role of lacrosse officials and reinforce the ideal of respect for the official to players/teammates. Grievances or misunderstandings between coaches, officials or any other parties involved with the sport should be communicated through the proper channels and procedures, never on or about the field of play in view of spectators or participants. Officials are professionals and are therefore expected to conduct themselves as such and in a manner that demonstrates total impartiality, courtesy and fairness to all parties. Spectators involved with the game must never permit anyone to openly or maliciously criticize badger, harass or threaten an official, coach, player or opponent. Coaches must be able to demonstrate a solid knowledge of the rules of lacrosse, and should adhere to the rules in both the letter and the spirit of the game. Coaches should provide a basic knowledge of the rules to both players and spectators within his/her program. Attempts to manipulate rules in an effort to take unfair advantage of an opponent, or to teach deliberate unsportsmanlike conduct, is considered unacceptable conduct. Eligibility requirements, at all levels of the game, must be followed. Rules and requirements such as age, previous level of participation, team transfers, etc, have been established to encourage and maximize participation, fair play and to promote safety.
