Doug Ahenakew will submit in writing to Joni Bjorge his resignation from the President position and his request to remain on the board as a director, fulfilling Craig Dimond s position. Motion made by Stephen Holt to: 1. Appoint as President for remainder of the 2017/2018 season until the AGM in April Appoint Travis Lourance as Vice President for remainder of the 2017/2018 season until the AGM in April Appoint Kyle Dyberg as director. 4. Approve Doug Ahenakew s request to remain on the board as director. accepts. Travis Lourance accepts. Kyle Dyberg agreeable prior to meeting. to follow up with Kyle Dyberg to notify him of his appointment. Doug Ahenakew accepts. Seconded by Kristy Lourance. 2 Player Movement Director Report Stephen Holt 1. Dylan Hillburn won appeal and granted release from Hockey Alberta to play in Stettler for 2017/2018 Bantam 2. Jackson Goossen denied appeal. Did not make AA Camrose, is to return to Bashaw to play. In regards to Jackson, an was sent from the Wetaskiwin President to. However unable to find the during the meeting. Melissa Peters will be present to accept fees. Expecting to attend Fees: $35 for referees out of association. Free for local refs Stephen Holt will not be present on Saturday. 4 Old Business Atom team Atom parents met at 6:00pm tonight to discuss options for the team. 27 parents plus 2 board members 18 Registered players ( goalie) 1. Play as a whole team 2. Play as 3 pods of 6 3. Affiliate two to three 2 nd year Atoms to Peewee All second year players and parents to discuss the option of under-aging them into PeeWee for the 2017/2018 season No? Yes? Permanently or affiliated only? To reply to Kristy Lourance by Thursday October 5 th by noon. Seat cushions Sample pictures shown. Minimum order is 100qty. cost = $7.86 per cushion Discussion of pricing: sell $8 to parents Afterwards in concession $10 Kristy Lourance Motion made by Stephen Holt to sell all cushions for $10 Seconded by Doug Ahenakew. Will be available for purchase October 17 th Apparel/Picture Night New Policy Amendment: Bashaw Minor Hockey Association Policies 3. Registration f. In the event there is insufficient players to form a team, as determined by the board, players will be released from BMHA for the current season. Releases will be issued to those players who have registered and paid in full by June 30 th. Those players who request releases without registering and paying their registration fees by June 30th, will incur a $200 penalty fee. ** Wording of policy discussed via , questions of using the word penalty fee vs. administrative fee Also should there be something said about having to register with BMHA before any tryouts or releases Will address this at the next meeting Discussion. Tabled until next meeting New Business RAMP: Team Snap Option There is an option to use RAMP instead of TeamSnap: there is a 50% discount this year = $25/year Team snap is free. Mostly positive feedback about TeamSnap and most know how to use the app. All in agreement to continue using TeamSnap RAMP: Volunteer sign up option Volunteer sign up option on the RAMP BMHA website: concession calendar go online and sign up. No cost Discussed with Pam Fankhanel she will follow up if this option will be used Also could be used with fundraiser and tournaments volunteer sign ups. Will leave this to the discretion of fundraising director and tournament coordinators.

5 Atom Governor BMHA was still seeking a volunteer to act as the Atom Tier 1 Governor for the NAI. As per thread beginning on September 23 rd motion made by Kristy Lourance to offer discount or refund registration fees for this position, or dismiss volunteer hour requirements but the person would still be required to sell 4 comedian tickets. Seconded by. responses show: 1 vote: refund registration fee 10 votes: take the 15 concession hours and registration for 1 kid in the family (most expensive registration) Or dismiss volunteer hours and refund registration fees 2 votes: against reduced concession hours and refund registration fees 2 no votes received Majority votes for removal of concession hours and refund of 1 registration fee. Bid for Provincials Information for Provincial applications not available yet Discussion Bantam vs Atom Ice surface is 72x172 therefore large enough for Bantam Taryn will continue to follow up Manager Meeting Kristy Lourance Has a manager meeting been set up? Have we had one in the past? Discussion that a meeting should be planned for the beginning of each season amongst all the managers. Able to provide them with passwords for accessing the website. Kristy Lourance will organize and plan for a meeting, Thursday, October 5 6pm Emergency Appeal Process Discussion regarding the Hillburn appeal as deadline to submit the appeal was in 3 days. No BMHA board discussion/vote was held to file the appeal for $300 Suggest having a policy in place that the Player Movement director, the president and the vice-president can file a first appeal by unanimous decision. 2 nd or 3 rd appeals to be voted upon by the board. Collaboration with Ponoka As Hockey Alberta is suggesting, we need to consider combining with other associations. Via Stephen Holt, Ponoka has expressed interest in combining with BMHA as we are both in the 16&60 League Likely will need to combine next year to have a Bantam team to follow up. Joni Bjorge suggests that during talks with Ponoka, to consider what to do with outlying border members as they will not want to commute to a further town for hockey i.e. those close to Rimbey driving to Bashaw and those close to Donalda driving to Ponoka. Bantam Ice Original ice times for Bantam requested as Monday and Wednesday 7:15-8:30pm However conflicts with figure skating so town suggests no flood between the two groups. Discussion held that a flood is necessary following figure skating. Taryn to follow up with Town of Bashaw

Joni Bjorge unable to attend but will follow-up with Josh Towpich to see if he can be present as he was on the Initiation Program committee to answer any questions the parents may have. will plan to meet with all 5 teams parents over the first week to discuss parent conduct and general expectations of BMH Goalie equipment Bought new novice goalie equipment approximate total: $524 Also purchased 25 blue pucks for Initiation Travis Lourance Old goalie equipment was denied trade in stores didn t feel like they would be able to sell it. Will display on apparel night. If no one wants the equipment it will be disposed of. Also extra old jerseys to be sold on apparel night to be used as warm-up jerseys, etc. BMHA Locker The state of the board locker is quite disorganized. Boxes state minutes/registration from 1991, provincial documents from the 1980 s Discussion that the board can decide how long to retain documents. New filing cabinet would be ideal. Motion made by Stephen Holt to discard all documents older than 7 years (2010) and to purchase a new filing cabinet. Seconded by. Joni Bjorge, Taryn Sincalir and Kristy Lourance willing to clean up the locker and source a new cabinet. Initiation Hockey Nets / Hockey Alberta Grant Joni Bjorge We received a $2500 grant from Hockey Alberta to set up our initiation program. Plan to move forward with the purchase of intermediate sized nets from Camrose Battle River Sports despite the 11 week wait. Unable to source any other nets for similar price or quality.
