3 WELCOME On behalf of Cowichan Valley Minor Hockey and our BC Hockey Provincial Championship Tournament Committee, we would like to congratulate you on an outstanding season. We welcome you to attend and represent your district at the 2013 Bantam Tier 1 Championships, an event we are honored to host. The two teams participating in the game immediately following the ceremony should be dressed in full equipment. The remaining teams are asked to wear dress pants, shirt, tie and home jersey. Presentation of 1st and 2nd place trophies and the Fair Play Trophy or plaque. 4

Locally known as The Stick it proudly displays the world s largest hockey stick on the building s exterior. The arena is centrally located in the heart of Duncan and offers a full concession. 5

7 TOURNAMENT PASSES No charge OPENING CEREMONIES Opening ceremonies will take place on March 17 th at 7:30 pm at Island Savings Center. Team attendance is mandatory. The two teams participating in the game immediately following the ceremony should be dressed in full equipment. The remaining teams are asked to wear dress pants, shirt, tie and home jersey. All teams are asked to be at the arena no later than 6:45pm. TOURNAMENT APPAREL Tournament clothing can be pre-ordered (see attached order form for prices and ordering deadlines). Limited supplies will be available on site at the event. PHOTOGRAPHY Event photographs will be taken during the games. Photos will be available for viewing and purchasing on site. Photographer TBA. 8 TEAM HOSTS/HOSTESSES The host committee would like each team to feel at home here in the Cowichan Valley. We will be introducing each team to a host upon arrival. Your host will be available throughout your stay in Duncan to answer any questions you may have. Please let us know when your team plans to arrive so your host may meet you. Further information will be given out at the Mandatory Coaches Meeting, March 16 th. If your team has any questions prior to your arrival concerning the tournament or require more information regarding your stay here in the Cowichan Valley please contact one of the event Chairpersons. TEAM PICTURES/LOGOS We will require an official team picture (please ensure the quality of the picture is good, as we will be using this for all tournament print material). We will also need a jpg. image of your association/team logo and your home and away jersey colours. Please submit this info to us no later than March 6, MEDICAL INFORMATION Please forward any player specific medical information that would be pertinent in the unfortunate event of an injury to one of your players. For example, please clearly identify any players that suffer from asthma, allergies, chronic injuries, diabetes etc. 8
