The fee was $90.00 which provided them with shorts and socks for our new uniforms in both the home and away colors. The jerseys will be returned and kept by the club each season, however the shorts and socks are kept by the player. All new players to the club will pay this one time fee. Returning players can purchase extra shorts or socks at the club office, or through the member zone (new this year). When you login to your member zone click on the purple T-shirt icon; this will take you to club wear. On an hourly basis the training is the cheapest of all the top clubs in the city ($12.50 per hour)
11 DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM U8-U18 TIER 3-6, TIER C,D This program is designed for the player that is involved in multiple activities and may not consider soccer the main priority. The program builds on the Young Villains Program by introducing players to the game in a fun setting where they develop soccer skills and knowledge of the game while also learning life skills such as sportsmanship, teamwork and respect. Playing time is as close to equal as possible. Fun is the most important thing and we pride ourselves on delivering the best possible program to our members. The Club will attempt to keep teams together from season to season to allow the players to build a strong friendship and sense of community. We understand, however, that increasing a player's ability and skill level will increase their enjoyment and appreciation of the game; we have therefore introduced weekly 90 minute technical training sessions as part of the program. One additional benefit of these sessions is that they will not only focus on individual skills development but also on game structure and play thereby alleviating the need for the teams coaches to run practices. (They will, however, have the option to run additional sessions at a local gym if they so desire). These technical sessions will take place at Calgary Central Sportsplex on a turf field. The technical schedule will be released prior to the first league game for all teams. All Development teams will also take part in pre season training camp between October 1- October 20 as we prepare everyone for the indoor season. Part of the pre season camp will include technical training for each age group.
12 YOUNG VILLAINS PROGRAM (U4-U8) This program is the beginner level program for children from U4 to U8. It introduces the player to the basic concepts of the game while encouraging fun and community togetherness. The Young Villains Program will be run by club staff this upcoming indoor season. All sessions are on our newly acquired turf field located at Calgary Central Sportsplex and are on Saturday mornings between 9:00-11:00am. This program focusses on FUNdamentals. Players will receive 25 minutes of skills training followed by 35 minutes of game time. You can register into the Fall Season, Winter Season or Full Indoor ( both seasons-for a $50 discount) Phase 1: October 21- December 16 ($160.00) Phase 2: January 20- March 24 ($160.00) * NO Session on Family Day Weekend* If you join both phases at registration the fee will be $ (a $50.00 saving) Indoor Turf Facility located at Street N.E - Calgary Central Sportsplex Many players will develop such a love for the game in these early years that they continue to play in the more competitive City League programs when they graduate from the Young Villains Program.
13 Keeper Training Program We are very pleased to announce that our Keeper Training Program is free to all club members. We are fortunate to have the top Goalie Coach in the city in our club and we feel Marcel adds great value to an already strong program offering. Please note that our Keeper Program is mandatory for all Elite Keepers and each Development team is encouraged to send at least 1 keeper to each session. At the time of registration please select Keeper Training Program ; this will enable us to create a contact list and form appropriate groups based on levels of ability. All sessions are run by Marcel Galaszkiewicz who is currently: -Alberta Mini Stars Goalie Coach -University of Calgary Men s Goalie Coach -Calgary Villains F.C Elite and Recreational Players U8-U18 Goalie Coach -Villains Elite Alberta Major Soccer League Goalie Marcel was the Alberta Major Soccer League MVP in 2015 recognizing his role in winning the league title with Calgary Villains Mens.
