2 A message from the Board Summer is winding down and the RAHA Board of Directors has been busy preparing for the season. Registration is open, clinics and tryouts are set and ready for the skaters to take the ice. All the information you need for registration and the upcoming season is on the website. Stay tuned for more information on the season in the weeks to come. RAHA once again was a definite presence at Leprechaun Days. Many thanks to all who made the many events possible. Thank you to the boosters and everyone who helped out with the float this year. We once again had a great turnout and the kids had a great time promoting RAHA with their DANGLE, SNIPE and CELLY t-shirts (see page 4 for picture). RAHA took over the Bath Tub Races this year. Thank you to all who spent time filling balloons, setting up and the course and cleaning up the mass of balloon carcasses after the event. A special thanks to Mike MC Humble for organizing and announcing the event. The Bath Tub Races were a huge success and we learned a lot and plan for an even more success next year (see page 5 for pictures). The second annual Street Hockey Tournament was bigger and better than last year. Thank you to Andy Proshek, Lisa Toll and the IP committee for setting up the event. MC Humble kept the games moving and the atmosphere festive. Dr. Jennifer came out and fitted mouth guards and Chris and Rob s Chicago Taste Authority once again was present to feed the masses. Congratulations to all the kids for games well played (see pages 6-7 for pictures). The annual RAHA Golf outing is set for Saturday, September 13 th at Emerald Greens. Grab a foursome and come out and enjoy an afternoon on the course. Take your chances on hole #13 to win $10,000. You only need to get a hole in one. How hard can it be? See page 8 for details. 3 News Registration Open Registration for the 2014 Clinics and Regular Season is currently open up on the RAHA website. As in previous years, each player must first be registered with USA Hockey on the USA Hockey website ( before beginning the online registration process for RAHA. Why a Raffle? The raffle is a mandatory fund-raising activity for our association with each family purchasing $60.00 worth of raffle tickets. We have reduced the raffle fee considerably this year! You have the option to re-sell the raffle tickets to friends and families to help lower the cost of hockey or just keep for yourself and try for some of our weekly cash prizes. The fee for the raffle tickets will automatically be added to the registration during the sign-up process. Pull Tab Credit? Every RAHA player is having their registration fee reduced by $75 using proceeds from Pull tab operations at Carbone s! This amounts to $35,000 that RAHA families saved! Traveling Tryouts Traveling tryouts are optional and you will have the option to opt-out of this expense during registration with your child being placed on the lowest team for that level. Tryout dates and times are now posted on the website tryout page. Bantam, Squirt and PeeWee - $100 U14, U12 and U8 - $75 First Year 8U Girls - Your First Season On Us! In order to grow Rosemount Girls Hockey, if it is your first year as a 8u girl, registration is free for the
