1 MANITOBA TENPIN BOWLING CALENDAR OF EVENTS Note: Although every effort has been made to ensure the completeness of this events calendar, there may be unexpected changes throughout the season. 2 Tournament Descriptions Chateau Lanes: Dec14 Joint Chateau / MCBA Classic Singles - 5-game single tournament followed by a stepladder final. It features the oiling pattern that will be used in the Manitoba Open. Dec26 Boxing Day Doubles - can be 2 men, 2 women, or one of each. This is a handicap tournament with 5 games (pins plus handicap) qualifying, and followed by a stepladder final. Always a fun tournament. Jan10-11 Manitoba Open - A 2-day scratch tournament. 10 games on Day 1 and the top qualifiers (based on the number of entries) will move forward to Day 2, where they bowl match play. This is followed by a 5- person stepladder final. Feb21 Baker Format Trios Tournament - Three-person teams - their averages cannot total more than 550. The first person bowls the 1st, 4th, 7th, and 10th frames, the 2nd person bowls the 2nd, 5th, and 8th frames, and the 3rd person bowls the 3rd, 6th, and 9th frames. You bowl 10 games like this against other teams and get points for each win. The teams with the most points go into a stepladder final. It's a different, and fun, event! Mar28 Chateau House of Champions Tournament - This is a handicapped Team event. Qualify through your league by being the aggregate leader at the time of the tournament. Open to Chateau league members only. Dauphin Tenpin Bowling Association: Oct19 "Battle of the Sexes" Tournament - Ask the DTA for all of the details! Oct26 9-pin No-Tap League Executive Tournament Nov9 Scotch Doubles Tournament - Men s, Women s, or Mixed - 4 games, handicap Nov23 Singles Mystery Teams Tournament - 4 games: 2 games of singles and 2 games in mystery teams which are randomly selected from all participants. Dec7 9-pin No-Tap Open Tournament - Ask the DTA for all of the details! Jan11 Annual Doubles Tournament Men s, Women s, or Mixed - 4 games, handicap Jan25 Dauphin Clinic Pharmacy Memorial Tournament Men s & Women s, Hdcp Singles event; 4 games Feb8 Double Play Tournament Consists of A & B sides - minimum of 3 games & maximum of 5 games. Feb22 "30-Frame Game" Tournament You read that right - 1 game of 30 frames! Should be fun! Mar7-8 Annual 9-pin No-Tap Open Tournament Mar21-22 Prairie Challenge Fivepin & Tenpin Associations in Man. and Sask. battle it out in Dauphin! Entry fee includes singles, doubles, team, and all-events 9 games total. Banquet dinner is also included. Apr Club Tournament - Scratch & Handicap. Laverendrye Lanes Oct-Apr Scotch Doubles Handicap Tournament Throughout the entire season. Two-person teams bowl 5 games. Maximum team average is 400. It is a popular event attended by bowlers of all average levels. Scotch Doubles will run on lanes 1-8. Oct-Apr 9-pin No-Tap Handicap Tournament Throughout the entire season. Individuals bowl 5 games of No-Tap. Try your luck! No-Tap tournaments run on lanes Oct18 Jan1 Executive Day Laverendrye invitational tournament to thank league executives for their work. 32-Frame Game event. Each bowler bowls one frame on their starting lane, and then moves one lane to the right for the next frame, and so on, making two complete circuits around the centre.

3 Tournament Descriptions (Continued) Winnipeg Tenpin Bowling Association: Oct19 Hi-Lo Doubles Now has both Women s and Men s Divisions. Qualify thru league highest average paired with lowest average Handicap tournament Nov22 179&Under Mixed Handicap Singles Open to all bowlers with averages of 179 or less. Nov29 Tournament of Champions Hdcp Singles Men and Women with highest average in their league from previous season qualify (i.e. this means there will be 2 entries from each Mixed league). Dec13 Jeanne Stear Singles Hdcp Qualify thru your league by improving your average the most during the qualifying period ask your league secretary for the details Jan17 Allan Boes Singles Handicap, open to all sanctioned men and women bowlers. Feb1 5-Division Scratch Singles event; 4 games open to Men and Women. You compete against bowlers in your average classification. New format includes the ability to discard your lowest game Feb7-8 WTBA Annual Men, Women, Mixed; singles, doubles, team events, both scratch & handicap Mar7-8 Marinelli City Singles Men s scratch singles event Day 1 is 8 games of qualifying, and the top 16 advance to Day 2 finals Mar22 A&H "Strike Out Cancer" Doubles Now includes both Men and Women. Hdcp event. Has your average improved the most in your league during the qualifying period? Then you may qualify to represent your league. Ask your league secretary. Apr Club Tournament By invitation only - Women who have bowled a 200 game or better in sanctioned league or tournament play in the current or any previous seasons are invited to this tournament. Apr18-19 Eric Young Memorial Championship (formerly Trophy House) Team event; handicap. Qualify thru your league during the 4-week qualifying period. A fun event! Ask your secretary for details! Manitoba Bowling Association: Nov15-16 MBA Annual Singles, doubles, and team events Nov15-16 MBA Youth Annual Singles, doubles, and team events Nov15-16 Ladies 600 Club Tournament - By invitation only. Run in conjunction with the MBA Annual. Nov-Feb MBA Youth Open Singles Series Youth event a series of scratch tournaments, but there will be two Divisions (based on average). There will be a total of 3 events, the last one being the Finals. Dec6-7 Annual Seniors Tournament Men & Women; singles, and doubles events. Must be age 50 or over as of Dec 31/14. Top All-Events winners qualify for a trip to USBC Seniors tourney in Green Bay. Jan25 Youth-Adult Hi-Lo Doubles Tournament Youth and Adult bowlers are paired up as teams (highest youth average with lowest adult average, and so on) and compete on a scratch score basis.
