3 River Lane Ranch Important Show Details ENTRY FEES: You can pre-register up until September 20, Registration & waiver may be ed to River Lane Ranch or dropped off at the ranch, and must be accompanied by payment. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or money transfer. Please don t forget to add the GST. Pre entry $15 per class for any/all. Entries received after September 20 th, will be considered post entries. Post entry $20 per class or any/all Exhibitors may show more than one horse. One registration form per horse (extra applicable show fees per extra horse) Secretary s table opens at 7:30a.m. (Located in the gazebo next to the arena.) Open To All Breed (OTAB)/Gypsy Vanner RULES: The judge s decision is final. The River Lane Ranch horse show committee reserves the right to alter, combine, split or cancel classes or entries without prior notice. Appropriate dress for English and Western classes is required (hat/helmet, long sleeves and riding boots are mandatory). Working condition tack acceptable, but CEF show rules are generally followed. Please clean up after your horse, inside & outside of the arena. Horse abuse will not be tolerated. Unruly horses will be excused from the premises. Stallions cannot be handled or shown by anyone under the age of 18 years. GVHS youth must wear helmets according to GVHS rules. We strongly advise that all OTAB youth wear helmets (see waiver). Horses and/or riders posing a danger to themselves or others will be asked to leave the arena and/or premises by the judge or show committee. Gypsy Vanners may enter all OTAB classes and earn GVHS ambassador points. GVHS rules apply in all Gypsy Vanner Divisions Click link for details - OTHER: The show will take place in our 200 x 100 outdoor arena (weather permitting) and on our outdoor trail course. Warm up area available. No trailers or vehicles in pasture around the arena or barn. (Signs will be posted) Water available for horses near outside wash bay pad. Concession will be available from 10am 6pm. Viewing area available and all spectators are welcome! Day stabling (stalls/pens) available. Please call the ranch to book ahead as space is limited. Must supply your own feed and water pails. NOTE -If weather is extreme the show will be cancelled. Extreme weather DOES NOT consist of drizzle or light rain. Refunds will be given for all entries, if cancelled. PRIZES: Prizes will be awarded to each 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner per class for all shows. Ribbons will be awarded up to the 5th place per class. 7 RELEASE & ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT FOR RIVER LANE RANCH PLEASE READ CAREFULLY WARNING: BY SIGNING THIS AGREEMENT, YOU PROMISE NOT TO SUE FOR ANY INJURY OR DAMAGES HOWSOEVER CAUSED. To: River Lane Ranch (hereinafter referred to collectively as RLR ) and employees, officers and agents (hereinafter referred to collectively as RLR employees ). Equine activities at or organized by RLR shall include any horse related activity that a person participates in or is a spectator of, including, but not limited to: riding, arena or trail lessons, cattle penning, roping, barrel racing, clinics, shows or gymkhanas, day camps, boarding, leasing, breeding, training, horse sales, group programs. Inherent risks of equine activities shall mean those dangers or conditions, which are an integral part of equine activities, including, but not limited to: 1. the propensity of any equine to behave in ways that may result in injury, harm or death to persons on or around them and/or damage to property in their vicinity; 2. the unpredictability of an equine s reaction to such things as sounds, sudden movement and unfamiliar objects, persons or other animals; 3. the equine s response to certain hazards such as surface and subsurface objects; 4. collisions with other equines, animals, people and objects; 5. the potential of a participant to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to injury to the participant or others, such as failing to maintain control over the equine or to act within his or her ability. I agree as a precondition to my participation in an equine activity organized by RLR and conducted by RLR and/or RLR employees, and in further consideration of RLR allowing me to do so, to be strictly bound by the terms of the Waiver, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement (hereinafter referred to as The Agreement ). 2. I acknowledge that equine activities involve INHERENT RISKS that may cause SERIOUS INJURY AND POSSIBLY DEATH TO PARTICIPANTS. 3. I fully understand the risks and dangers associated with my participation in this equine activity and ACCEPT SAME ENTIRELY AT MY OWN RISK. I also understand that while participating in this high-risk sport, it is STRONGLY ADVISED by RLR and RLR employees to use appropriate safety equipment, including a HELMET with fixed harness, and require such

8 use by a minor participant. Any failure or refusal to use such equipment shall be strictly at the participant s own risk. 4. I hereby WAIVE ANY AND ALL CLAIMS which I may have, now or in the future, against RLR and RLR employees and release RLR and RLR employees from ALL LIABILITY for injury, death, property damage or any other loss sustained by me as a result of by participation in this equine activity DUE TO ANY CAUSE WHATSOEVER including, without limitation, negligence on the part of RLR or RLR employees. I further AGREE TO INDEMNIFY RLR and RLR employees for any and all legal fees (on a solicitor and his own client basis) or losses or costs which may be incurred in defending any lawsuit or claim I may bring against them. 5. I appreciate that This Agreement applies whether RLR is at fault or not and it limits the liability of RLR employees to the same extent as it limits the liability of RLR even though RLR employees are not formal parties to This Agreement. I understand that RLR, in securing execution of This Agreement by myself, is acting as agent or trustee on behalf of or for the benefit of RLR employees, who shall to this extend be or be deemed to be parties to This Agreement. 9 THIS DOCUMENT WILL AFFECT YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS AND LIABILITIES - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY RELEASE & ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT FOR A MINOR CHILD I request permission for my child horseback riding and other stable activities at River Lane Ranch. to participate in I fully understand that horseback riding, handling and grooming of horses and other stable activities are very dangerous. I wish to allow my child to participate in these activities knowing that they are dangerous. I (my Child) also understand that while participating in this high-risk sport, IT IS STRONGLY ADVISED THAT I (my Child) WEAR A HELMET with a fixed harness while mounted. Any failure or refusal to use such equipment shall be strictly at the participant s own risk, and I (my Child) fully accept all responsibilities for my (my Child s) actions. I accept and assume all the risks of injury (including death) to my child or my property. I represent and warrant that I have authority to give this release. In exchange for my child being permitted to participate in these activities, for my child, myself, my child s heirs, guardians, and legal representatives, I release and agree not to make any claims of any kind against River Lane Ranch for any injury (including death), to my child or any danger to my property, arising out of my child s participation in these dangerous horseback riding or related activities.
