2 Minutes 2014 Mid Winter Ball February 9, 2014 Agenda Items in Bold 1. Elections There were no further nominations from the floor. The following officers and advisors were elected. Transfer of check signers New signature cards have been submitted to the bank to allow Annie Dote or Letort Lawman to sign checks. b. On line banking The members present agreed to allow Annie Dote to set up on line banking to be able to review current account balances. 3. Work Days a. Reset targets b. Move tables c. General cleanup In addition to the above tasks, the following was added: Level Movers Even outhouse with table (bay 6) Check targets Need pistol and rifle with ammo. Dead targets will be replaced. There is plenty of steel in the shed. Buckle Bob will be there to mow the berms of the stages before the targets are reset. Work days will be March 22 and, if needed, March 29. Letort Lawman estimated that we will need approximately 15 people to perform all these tasks. Buckle Bob would like to extend the roof over the shooting table on Bay one. He has the materials to do it. We will work on it on the work days. Buckle Bob also recommended drilling holes in the floor of the fort to drain water that stands on the floor. 4. Range Improvements a. Fix road up the hill Regrading the road will not help. Buckle Bob recommended cutting the road down, installing more water breaks and coat with quarry run stone and pack it down. Estimated cost of the quarry run is $ The membership approved. Work will be done on days other that the scheduled days. b. Stage 8 Props or empty Letort Lawman recommended that Bay 8 be left empty for now. Props may be revisited later. c. Knockdown shotgun targets Letort Lawman and Tuscarora Slim will build more shotgun knockdown targets. They will use existing plates from the swingers. Currently, they cannot get to the range to get the plates or get to the steel which is frozen in the snow. The following were also discussed. Buckle Bob will cut dead tree on the berm between bays 4 and 5. He will only need a couple of hands when he does this. He would like to do it before the first work day. He will contact a couple of cowboys to help when the time comes. The teeter-totter will be moved from the right side of bay 2 to the center. This will eliminate the extreme angle when shooting at it. The members present approved replanting the Smoke Tree in memory of Cactus Charlie. The first one died. They also approved planting two more trees, one in memory of Waterloo Blue and one in memory of Morgan James (suggested white birch for Morgan). L ocation will be determined. 5. Port-a-johns Cleaning who? A quote was received from Associated Products. The cost would be the same as last year. The members present were please with the job Associated has done and approved their quote for the 2014 shooting season. 6. SOTR IV a. Paint targets after each posse. Buckle Bob and Butch McCandles redesigned the plaque into a keystone shape for next year. e. Ad swap with Eas'dern Shore Renegades (Cow Camp or SOTR) We will do an ad swap. Tuscarora Slim will provide Jingles Jerr with an ad for SOTR IV. f. SASSNET The members approved putting a notice for SOTR IV on SASSNET. Slim Chance Pistolero will put it on. 7. Cow Camp a. Paint targets after each posse. We will repaint the lower targets only. For safety reasons, the upper targets cannot be repainted. b. Scouts to pick brass. Tuscarora Slim will contact the Scouts to arrange brass pickers c. Scouts cooking breakfast(fri., Sat, Sun)& lunch (?) The Scouts will be in school on Friday and unable to provide lunch. The Scouts will be providing lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Tuscarora Slim will contact them about breakfast. If they will, he will add it to the application. d. Tea room to cater meals? The Tea Room will again be providing the Saturday evening meal. Letort Lawman motioned that we have the same menu as last year. Slick Jim seconded the motion. The motion passed. e. Cost of meal to update registration form The Tea Room stated that unless beef was added to the menu, the cost should be the same. The members agreed that the price should be raised to $13.00 per person to cover any possible increase in price between now and Cow Camp. If the price does not increase, the additional $1.00 will be used in the tip given to the Tea Room. f. Ad swap with Eas'dern Shore Renegades (Cow Camp or SOTR) No, the ad will be for SOTR IV. There was a discussion about those camping in the lower parking lot and using electricity. The application stated that there would be a cost of $10.00 per night. However, it appeared last year that some of them did not pay. Tuscarora Slim will highlight the fee for camping below and add statement that the fee is payable with the registration. Shifty Canuk motioned that we issue a tag to those that paid. That will make checking easier. Cherokee Jon Slaughter seconded the motion. Motion passed. Jingles Jerr suggested adding Cattle Baron to the application. Tuscarora Slim will do so. 8. Empty Saddles a. Who? Annie Dote motioned that the recipient be Arielle Leukemia fund. Arielle is Cardiac Cowboy s granddaughter and is fighting a very rare form of leukemia. It occurs only once in over a million cases of leukemia. Slick Jim seconded the motion. Motion passed. b. Food bank We will again be selling Dag-Nab-Its for the benefit of the Perry County Food Bank. For each 5 food items or $5.00 donation, the shooter will receive a Dag-Nab-It. The shooter can buy as many as they would like. Slowpoke John suggested that we also allow the shooters to buy Dag-Nab-Its during the match. This would help raise additional funds for the Food Bank. The score keeper would be responsible for keeping track of those sold during the match and turn in the money with the score cards. Letort Lawman stated that he has written two new scenarios, one for Morgan James and one for Big Foot. 9. Political committee David Wilkening Mr. Wilkening is working with Col. Dan and the SASS Team as a political action committee. He is the coordinator for PA. After discussion, Buckle Bob motioned that we do not participate as a club. Copper Starr seconded the motion. The motion passed. 10. Other events a. Perry County Youth Field Day This year s field day will be at Ickesburg Sportsmen s on June 14. Buckle Bob motioned that we participate in this year s field day and match last year s donation of $ Old Pathfinder seconded the motion. Motion passed. b. Sherman s Valley Heritage Days Heritage days will be October 10, 11 and 12. The Regulators will again have a booth in the Heritage tent. Buckle Bob will coordinate the event. Other discussion items: West Shore Posse is considering hosting the 2015 State SASS match. Slick Jim asked that if West Shore does not, the Regulators revisit the possibility of hosting the state match.

Because Labor Day falls on September 1 this year, Cow Camp is the end of August. THERE WILL BE NO SHOOT ON SEPTEMBER 6 AT ICKESBURG.
