Let the fair board or us know, they always need good help. --The Extension Staff Have you sent out a Thank-you note to those people responsible for the trophy you won or the livestock buyer, the Fair Board member or any other person who might have helped you before or during the Fair? The importance of Thank-you's is vital to the support of the County Fair and 4-H Program. If you received an award, be it financial or a trophy or just some help from someone, please let them know that they are appreciated. 4 County Wide Project Leaders Our list of county wide project leaders is growing! Listed below are project leaders that have volunteered to be county wide leaders. As they set up meetings for the new 4-H year we will send out postcards to announce the first `meetings to those enrolled in that project. If you receive a notice for a meeting and cannot attend, please be courteous and give them a call. Remember, they are taking time out of their busy schedules to plan meetings and help you with your project. Fiber Arts - Connie Vail Dog - Ginger & Tammy Fairbanks Jr. Leaders - Jaylene Chaplin & Janice Reese Livestock Club - Cheri Nelsen National 4-H Week Help celebrate this year s National 4-H Week, Oct 7-13, by joining the movement to INSPIRE KIDS TO DO! Since 1968, National 4-H Week has been held the first full week of October. National 4-H Week is a chance to raise awareness of 4-H, enroll more young people, and recruit more volunteers. Now is the time for clubs and 4-H councils to discuss and make plans for local efforts to promote and celebrate National 4-H week as well as National Youth Science Day and 48 Hours of 4-H (Oct 13 & 14). Tuesday, October 9 will be Spirit Day. We know that a lot of you already encourage your 4-H'ers to wear a clover to school and that's what this day will be...an opportunity for members, parents, and volunteers to show their clover pride by wearing a 4-H t-shirt to school/work. Shooting Sports Mike Adams - Muzzle Loading Belinda Adams - Hunting Skills Jacob Smith Air Rifle If you would like to volunteer to be a county project leader, please call the Extension Office.
