Williams Address: P O Box 92 Presho, SD Phone(s): cell home address: donavon7@cs.com Special Comments: We purchased 26 Polled and Horned Hereford yearling heifers from Rausch Herefords and Stuber Herefords in the spring of 2007 and in 2008 we purchased additional yearling heifers from Rausch Herefords. My goal is to breed Herefords that help advance the breed and to help owners of Angus-based cow herds capture the $ benefits of heterosis in their operation. Semen from top herd sires was selected for AI in our herd based on choosing sires with balanced superior $ indexes and EPD profiles. Genetically, Williams Herefords is trying to produce cattle that rank in the upper 20 percentile of the $ indexes by selecting for balanced trait selection for calving ease, growth, fertility, and carcass EPDs. All bulls offered for sale have a $BMI that ranks in the top 20% of the Hereford Breed, with 8 bulls ranked in the top 5% for $BMI. The averages for the 15 bulls for the other $ Indexes and EPDs all rank in the Top 20% except for REA (Top 25%), MG(Top 35%), MM (Top 50%), and FAT (Top 60%). Terms Conditions: Terms of the sale are cash. Bulls can be seen by appointment prior to the sale. Opening day of the private treaty sale is Wed. May 12 with time for inspection of the bulls followed by a Silent Auction format starting at 1:00 pm and lasting for approx. 1 hour. Each bull will be assigned a base price which may be increased in increments of $100 for about an hour. The person with the highest bid for each bull when bidding stops will be the new owner. Unless otherwise stated, all bulls sell with 2/3 semen interest and full possession. The new owner will have full possession and full salvage value of their bull. Occassionally there may be a bull that we wish to collect semen from. If this is the case, we will contact you and it will be done at your convenience and our expense. After expenses, there will be a split on net revenue of any semen sold with 2/3 to the new owner and 1/3 to Williams Herefords Delivery: Free delivery on bulls within 200 miles of Vivian SD. We will cooperate with any buyer on hauls of greater distance. Haul your own discount of $50 off purchase price the day of sale. Guarantee: Williams Herefords guarantees all bulls to be breeders. If a bull proves to be a non-breeder, an animal of comparable rank will be substituted, if available, or money refunded equal to your purchase price minus the salvage value. We recommend that the bulls be semen tested prior to turn out. Health: All calves tested negative for BVD in late spring of All bulls were vaccinated as calves with Vista Once and Vison 7 Somnus and injected with Dectomax for parasite control before going to pasture. In early September they were given a booster of Express 5-PMH and Vison 7 Somnus and poured with Cydectin. At weaning in mid Oct. they received a fall booster (Triangle 4 PHK). This spring the bulls were vaccinated with Fusogard for footrot protection and injected with Dectomax. The bulls have not been vaccinated for Anthrax or Pinkeye.
